In the confines of a marbled bathroom, a frustrated figure could be seen slumping over the sink as he looked at his face as he sighed deeply.

Letting the faucet flow freely, Yookwon let his sadness and frustrations go with the water down the drain. He sighed again as he watched the untouched liquid leave the sink and turned his head to look at the lone white stick which lay just below the mirror in front of him.

Yookwon can’t help but to feel down, he’s been trying… they’ve been trying ever since they were married.

Picking up the pregnancy test, Yookwon decided to walk out the bathroom to tell his waiting husband who’s in their master’s bedroom.

As soon as Yookwon stepped out, his eyes met the dark brown orbs of his husband who was sitting at the edge of their queen-sized bed.

Minhyuk was equally restless. He was sure that he made a deal with his own self not to expect too much for he knew that it could be like the previous tests. That it could be negative again. But he just couldn’t help it. He had always wanted to start a family with Yookwon.

Over the past days, Yookwon had told him about the unusual changes or more like weird feelings he had with his body, and Minhyuk can’t keep himself from hoping that it could be the ‘it’ they have been waiting for.

Yookwon knew what Minhyuk was thinking, even he himself wanted to have their child soon, too. But as much as he wanted to, the gift that they were asking and fervently praying for was not yet knocking right at their door.

Minhyuk could definitely see the sullen look of his wife as he watched him approach the bed closer with the pregnancy test at hand.

Yookwon was looking at his feet for he can’t afford to look straight at Minhyuk’s eyes. Yookwon sat beside Minhyuk without removing his gaze from his feet as he held the test in both hands while handing it to his significant other.

“Min—”

Yookwon can’t even take the words out of his mouth as his eyes started to tear up when Minhyuk tightly enclosed him in his embrace instead of getting the test for him to have a look himself.

Minhyuk ran a hand at his wife’s back as he coaxed him not to cry, “Ssh… It’s okay, yeobo. I’m here, I’m here… ”

Minhyuk held Yookwon’s shoulders and pushed him lightly to look at him when the latter had started blabbering, “I’m so sorry. I didn’t want to disa—”

“Hey, hey…” Minhyuk then lightly bended to gaze up at his wife who was trying hard in hiding his face under his fallen brown tresses, “You know I don’t like you being like this.”

“But—”

Minhyuk lifted Yookwon’s chin as he wiped the tears that managed to escape the rim of his wife’s eyes.

“I don’t like you blaming yourself… And you’re not disappointing me.”

Yookwon just sniffed and lightly sobbed as Minhyuk let him rest on his broad chest. Yookwon loved the warmth that Minhyuk was emanating. It was what he needed together with the love and affection that Minhyuk had always given him.

The couple had let themselves succumb into silence with Minhyuk kissing the side of Yukwon’s head, letting the good two minutes pass by with them listening to their slow and steady breathing when Yookwon decided to break the silence as he stared into space, softly asking the summer breeze that entered their windows, “When are we going to meet you?”

Yookwon then placed a hand on his abdomen as he thought of various ‘what ifs’. Minhyuk had clearly heard his wife’s soft question and he felt his chest had tightened. But they just can’t remain from being downhearted, they have to move on and keep trying. They’ve been happily married for almost two years now and they’ve been through the same thing many times. They just need to get over this disappointment for them to try again with a light heart.

Minhyuk took a deep breath with his chest rising which caused Yookwon to look up. Minhyuk looked down at his wife as he smiled sweetly with his dimple showing. Minhyuk knows that his wife loved his dimple way too much. This was what he always did to lighten up the love of his life.

Yookwon was about to return the same sweet smile when Minhyuk’s expression changed with a smirk. Oh no. Yookwon knew that look all too well.

Just like what Yookwon had thought, Minhyuk leaned in closer to his face. Leaving merely an inch between their lips and their noses grazing lightly with each other, Yookwon had felt his husband’s hot breath and his blood rushing to his cheeks.

Yookwon looked straight into Minhyuk’s teasing eyes that he himself could feel his cheeks burning.

Instead of kissing Yookwon, Minhyuk leaned closer to his wife’s ear and whispered, “Besides, I can take you all for myself…”

Yookwon can’t stop himself from whimpering; Minhyuk was dangerously over him and was whispering to his sensitive ears with his husky voice.

“Minhyukkie, it’s still early…” Yookwon purred while his arms had managed to snake around Minhyuk’s neck.

The pair was at the foot of their bed with the husband hovering over his submissive wife. Minhyuk was busy nipping at Yookwon’s neck with his hand sneaking its way under the latter’s loose shirt.

Minhyuk had only meant to tease Yookwon earlier. But with the vulnerable look of his wife, Minhyuk can’t stop himself when the other already had a hazy look in his eyes.

It was too tempting for him— Yookwon's flushed face.

Minhyuk’s hand had crept under Yookwon’s shirt which was actually his shirt. From nipping and successfully placing his mark in between Yookwon’s neck and shoulder, Minhyuk went back on ravishing the brown haired individual who started being a mess under his touch.

Minhyuk then placed a palm over his wife’s abdomen as he stated a promise that he himself can’t point the reason why he suddenly felt confident about.

“We’re going to meet him soon.”
