The way he was looking at the new stranger made Hyunae’s heart clench in envy. Yongguk never looked at her that way. How his eyes were shining like he had just seen a goddess that descended down to earth. How the corners of his mouth were tugged on either sides of his face like he was recieving the ultimate gift from the gods. Yongguk might have looked at Hyunae that way before, but it’s sure as hell much different than now. Yongguk stretched out his hand and introduced himself to Nana. Nana accepted the kind gesture and there was no doubt her cheeks were painted pink from the contact. Himchan glanced at his sister and he couldn’t help but feel for her. Hyunae caught sight of his eyes on her and she turned away from him. She knows what he’s thinking and she couldn’t help but admit he’s right. Himchan sent her a telepathic message, saying ‘you shouldn’t have introduced her to him.' Knowing how big of a player Yongguk is, he's for sure crushing on Nana already.

The bell rang and Hyunae snapped out of it, putting up a front so she wouldn’t get caught. “Come, I’ll help you with your schedule” she grabbed Nana’s hand and dragged her to the main office. Hyunae spoke to the woman at the front desk, telling her that Nana was the new transfer student. The lady handed Nana her schedule and welcomed her to the school. Turns out both girls have almost the same classes, including homeroom.

Lunch came a few hours later and they walked together to the cafeteria. Girls already proclaimed their hate for Nana. Boys already started drooling over her. They entered the cafeteria and headed straight to the line to get their trays. “Where are we going to sit?” Nana asked and followed Hyunae behind. “Over there” Hyunae pointed with her lips at the boys Nana met this morning. She trailed behind Hyunae. Nana couldn’t help but lower her head as the girls send daggers their way.

Nana really likes her. She found a best friend in Hyunae even though they have only known each other for a few days. She admired how confident Hyunae is and how she has the nerves to ignore the nasty stares she gets from jealous girls. If it was just Nana, she would’ve broken down and cried. Nana can’t handle pressure much and has low self-esteem. But Hyunae brings out the confidence in her.

Hyunae sat down in front of Yongguk and between Zelo and Youngjae. She made Youngjae scoot over and pulled Nana next to her. As always, the younger ones chatted away while the older ones did the same. But this time, Yongguk didn’t initiate the conversation. Instead, he stared right away to the person next to Hyunae. “Nana-shi” he started, startling Nana. “Where are you from?” he asked. Hyunae bit her bottom lip to suppress a sigh. She can’t give herself away. She can’t let them know how unhappy she is that her new friend has taken the attention of her best friend. Hyunae knows that she shouldn’t be feeling this way. But it’s only the beginning. By the way Yongguk look and speak to Nana, Hyunae could already tell that her heart would be breaking to pieces. Just like how it always does whenever Yongguk take interest at other girls. Girls that weren't her.

The week passed by quickly and to Hyunae’s surprised, Nana doesn’t seem to have much interest in Yongguk. Turns out Nana heard a couple of girls talking about her in the girl’s restroom at school one day. “Have you noticed how Yongguk oppa looks at that new girl?” one girl asked. “Yeah, that thinks she owns this school already just because she’s friends with Hyunae and the boys” her friend scoffed. “But I think we don’t have to worry about her snagging our oppa. She’ll probably be one of his victims anyways. He’ll her brains out and then toss her to the side just like all the other girls he’s slept with.”

That was it. After that day, Nana avoided Yongguk. That was why whenever Hyunae invited her to hang out after school, she would deny after finding out Yongguk would be there as well. Hyunae felt somehow relief that Nana was avoiding him. But she felt bad also because she really wanted her to get along well with the boys.

It was Friday and Hyunae promised to hang out with Nana since they haven’t really had their girl time since Nana would avoid the group. The boys are at Yongguk’s place again so Hyunae has the condo for herself. Nana would be coming over and they would just hang out. Maybe watch some movies, eat junk foods and talk about girly stuff. Hyunae was excited of course, considering she never had any experience about this since she never had any girl friends.

“What do you want to do?” she asked Nana while munching on a big bite of pizza. “You know I like you. You don’t pretend” Nana smiled at her friend. “What do you mean?” Hyunae continued to chew on her pizza. “I mean you don’t try to impress anyone. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, don’t get me wrong. But you’re not... girly” Nana said shyly and Hyunae couldn’t help but chuckle. “You mean I don’t act all like ‘oppa look at me’ and like that?” she said in a high pitch voice. Nana laughed along with her, “Yeah, like that.”

“Well I did grow up with boys. It’s kinda hard to be all girly when you have six boys surrounding you every minute. You can say I’m a little bit of a tomboy. But I do like getting dress up once in a while.” The two spend the night munching on junk food and talking about random things. Himchan called Hyunae to tell her that he’ll spend the night at Yongguk’s and told her to let Nana stay the night so she won’t be alone. Nana agreed to the request and now here they are lying side by side on Hyunae’s bed.

“Hyunae-ah” Nana said while staring at the ceiling. “Hm?” Hyunae hummed to acknowledge that she’s still awake and listening. “Yongguk-shi” she started and Hyunae fluttered her eyes open, alarmed at his name coming out of . “How is he as a person?” Nana asked, curiosity was evident in her voice. “What do you mean?” Hyunae asked, voice filled with curiosity as well. “I mean… I heard these two girls at school three days ago. They were talking about how big of a player he is.” Nana left out the part of sleeping with her and tossing her aside afterwards. She’s a little embarrassed to tell her new friend that.

Hyunae chuckled all of a sudden at her confession. Of course she would know about how he is. He is the biggest player in school, in town probably. “He kinda sorta is” she answered. “Oh” Nana whispered and Hyunae furrowed her eyebrows at her. She her side and face Nana, whose eyes were glued to the ceiling. “Do you… like him?” Hyunae asked cautiously, not really wanting to hear her answer. “He seems nice. Plus he’s really handsome. Who wouldn’t like him? But it’s just a little crush” she smiled and turned to Hyunae, both girls facing each other. “I’m surprised you and him aren’t together”

Hyunae choked a little and swallowed. “You said you two grew up together and you and him are together almost every day. I’m surprised there are no romantic feelings between you guys.” Hyunae chuckled softly at her. “We’re practically siblings” Hyunae said. Atleast that's what he thinks, she thought to herself.

“Do you… want me to hook you guys up?” Once again she was asking a question, whose answer she didn’t want to hear. “Ani. I don’t like him that much, anyways.” Hyunae returned the smile Nana gave to her. After a few minutes, Nana was sound asleep next to her. Hyunae her back and face the white ceiling. She feels like she could trust Nana. She just wasn’t sure if she was ready to tell her how she truly feels for Yongguk. Besides, he’s crushing on her. How can she tell the girl that the boy she loves that she likes him?
