What's the mistake?:

One of my biggest pet peeves for stories is this chapter. Shall we get started?:

I woke up and realized i was late O: !!! I rushed down stares and whined at my mom, "Why didn't you wake me up?! T_T" My mom shrugged and said, "I'm sorry sweety, the time slipped past me D:" I whined more and ran out the door, "I'M GONNA BE SO LATE TTT^TTT"

Not only do they use caps lock and a lot of unneccassry exclamation marks they use faces. F.a.c.e.s.

Oh god kill me now. See thing is, about fanfiction it's all about the details so I'm just wondering why on earth you are writing a story that has no detail and use a short-cut but having the icons as your detail. You are laazzyyyy.

Last I checked I was suppose to be reading a story not a long text or MSN chat and the person uses a face for every gd sentence they write. But it's cool. Whatever floats your boat.

So how do I fix these mistakes?:

In my story a character sends another character a text with an emotionicon; sounds great. I've had a story like that. but I made sure to show the readers that it was a) the person wrote the emotionicon on the paper or b) that they were reading a text or something to that affect. However this is much different than writing a story that is all emotionicon and no details.

But I like using emotionicons for my fanfic; ... welp no one told you to stop. Just know it's not gonna improve your writing skills and only annoy many other readers like me.

Extra tips:

Don't use emotion icons.
