What's the mistake?:

What's really sad is when you find out an author has made 15 accounts and subscribed to themselves to make it look like you have extra subscribers. I don't have an example but from what I've heard, many authors have done this.

Now there isn't a real good way to catch an author doing this but it's extremely sad when an author does that. Plus I would get so annoyed and not even bother making that many accounts. I don't have the patience for it. 

Anyways, short-sweet-simple, don't making extra accounts just to subscribe to yourself. In all honesty, it's pathetic.

So how do I fix these mistakes?:

But I want more people to subscribe to me, so the more i subscribe to myself, the more people will subscribe to me!; Don't focus on how many subscribers you have. Focus on your story and the readers you do have. A lot of the time if you just make your subscribtion hidden then people will subscribe and not care. But lets not be arrogant and greedy for subscribers, come on now. There should be no excuse on why you make a new account just to subscribe to yourself.
