Epilogue
The ShowdownEpilogue
Thirteen months to the day of Taemin’s collapse on set, he was making his comeback with SHINee. He still couldn’t dance all day like he once hand, but he could dance a full performance and sing all of his parts and be a full member of SHINee again without feeling like he was dragging any of them down or like he was going to hurt himself in doing so.
They were making a comeback on Music Bank with the first single off of their brand new album. It had been a hard road of rebuilding himself as a person, and themselves as a group, but the effort had paid off. And once again he was doing what he loved. He was onstage with his SHINee family and he was more than ready to get back out there and perform for the world once again.
Key came up quietly behind him and wrapped his arms securely around his waist. “You ready?” He asked, kissing behind Taemin’s ear.
Taemin smiled and cuddled himself back against Key’s chest for a moment, “Readier than I’ve ever been.” He laughed and turned to look in Key’s eyes. “It’s like debut all over again. My heart is pounding so fast…” he said with a joyful look on his face, grabbing Key’s hand and placing it over his chest so the other could feel the erratic beating.
Key smiled at his boyfriend and leaned forward to kiss him quickly on the forehead. “You’ll do great! We all will and our fans will love us!” He said enthusiastically, throwing his hands into the air in his excitement.
“Let’s go guys!” Onew called back to them.
SHINee grouped up in a circle with their heads in and arms around each other. It felt right for them all to be back together again and getting ready to perform again. They all shared excited smiles and Onew said, “This is it! Taemin is back! SHINee is whole again, so lets go out and show them just what they’ve all been missing!”
“Hands in!” called Jonghyun.
Five hands shoved their way into the middle of the circle and on the count of three they all threw their hands into the air, throwing any nerves out of themselves with their cry of excitement.
Smiling, they all headed out on stage to grand applause.
Music Bank never had higher ratings in its history than it did that day, for that performance.
SHINee was back.
