Job Offer
Dear EXO, She's YoursThe bell rang in Seoul's University, Luhan got out of the classroom and sighed loudly as he made his way down the hall. Students passing by him, in a rush to their next lecture or in a rush to the cafeteria to buy some lunch. Luhan just stopped in front of the university's gates and picked out the paper from his pocket, the same newspaper he was struggling to catch on the other morning.
"Dad... How am I suppose to find this place? I have nothing right now. Literally, nothing." His mind had a flashback of the meeting with the principal this morning.
"Luhan, do you realize how much student's debt you owe?" He asked with a strict tone. Luhan was standing in front of the principal's desk, sighing. "Yes.." He spoke softly. The principal just sighed, "When are you going to pay? Do you even have money for it?" He questioned Luhan who still has his head hanging in mid-air, not wanting to stare at the principal.
"Luhan," He began. "I know you came in to Seoul's University with excellent grades. And I know about your parent's situation, and your childhood history. But with the current situation you are in, being late for classes, failing assignments..." The principal stopped speaking and just got out of his chair. "I'm afraid that you may have to stop coming to class and you have to move out if your debt isn't paid by the next month. I'm giving you one month's time to solve this mess."
That's when Luhan's head perked up. "One month?" He asked with wide eyes, not believing it. "How is that possible? I have to pay a million wons in just a month's time? Are you crazy?" He asked with a shocking tone.
The principal just stare at him with a blank look, "Well, you should have thought of the consequences before deciding to act all lazy and being late for classes. But, you don't have to pay a million, pay me a few thousands back first, that way I will know that you are serious with your life." Luhan was quiet and the principal continued. "I know you don't have much on you. You're relying on your classmates, teachers, borrowing money from them." He spoke which made Luhan look at him with a shocked look.
"How did you..." "I'm the principal. It's my job to see that everything is going right and well." He smiled at him and opened his drawer, Luhan watched him rummaging through his drawers and pulled out a stack of newspapers.
"Here." The principal tossed the stack of newspapers in front of him. Luhan just stare at them and back at the principal. "After your first period of class, you are excused to look for a job. You better get a job by today or, you know what's the result. Go. And good luck."
Luhan just sighed as he took out the stack of newspaper from his bagpack. "Looks like looking for the studio will have to wait, I've got more important things to take care of."
Luhan then began to take the bus to many places that the newspaper had offer, but eventually got rejected to all of it. Some just said that they will call him back as they discuss with the boss, but judging from their looks, it looks like he won't be getting that job anytime soon.
After hours and hours of searching for a job, it was already 3 in the afternoon, Luhan stopped by 7 Eleven to get something to refresh himself up, he grabbed a carton of milk and sipped on it as he left the store.
"Okay, where to next?" He then crossed out the previous job interviews, those that had did not work out well. *Waiters... Damn, I don't like serving that much, what happens if I'm in charge of washing plates? That would .* He frowned at the thought of it, but still he went to that destination.
He arrived at the destination which happened to be a bar that opens at late night hours, Luhan entered cautiously, watching the surroundings. The bar had a elegant feel to it, as the colors were mostly black and white and the chairs and tables were modern.
A man walk out of the back kitchen and spotted Luhan, Luhan saw him and smiled. "Hello!" He called out and went over to the man who was staring at him, watching him approach. "Here to apply for the job?" He asked.
Luhan nodded, "Yeah. Saw your newspaper and-" "You're hired." He cut him off and Luhan just blinked at him with a blank look. "What?"
"Start tonight. The uniform is in the dressing room at the back." The man just nodded and patted his back as he walked past Luhan and to another room which Luhan assumes to be his office. "Wow." Luhan said out loud, "That was... fast." He then shrugged his shoulders and went to the back. *At least I got a job.*
The evening arrived and Luhan was already dressed up and ready to start his first job. Luhan stood next to the counter where the bartender does all the drinks and mixing alcohols together, the man from before came out and smiled at him. "Ah, so the uniform fits well. Good. We'll be opening early today because the whole bar is book for a party tonight."
"A party?" Luhan asked, "Yeah. Some entertainment company is celebrating tonight, so be sure to serve them the food. And be prepare for the girls." He said with a smirk and went off leaving Luhan confused as ever. *Girls..?*
Trying to ignore the man's words, Luhan waited till evening arrives, the DJ for the bar had arrive to come work and did sound checks as he played multiple songs and started to spin some tracks. Luhan just sat in a corner as he stare at the bar, as the night arrives, the bar became lively as the lights turn on one by one. Neon lights everywhere, bright li
