The next time I opened my eyes I wasn’t in the nurses office anymore, I looked around and saw that I was in my room, how did I get here? I sat up and leaned against the headboard, my stomach didn’t hurt as much as before.

The door opened and my heart skipped a beat expecting it to be Kyuhyun but it was my mum “Oh hi mum” I smiled at her, she looked like she had been crying which made my smile vanish “Mum?”

She walked over to me and hugged me tightly “Oh my baby Wookie… I’m so glad your ok…” I could hear her starting to cry again

“Hey, its ok mum I’m fine, really” She sat on the bed and slowly touched my face, I winched a little, My face still hurt but I still didn’t know why, what did my face look like?

“Mum?”

“Yeh honey…” She was wiping her tears away

“How did I get home?”

“Oh don’t you remember?” I looked at her confused

“No… the last thing I remember was being at the school’s nurses office”

“Kyuhyun brought you home, he walked all the way home just to get his car and take you home, you were half conscious during this so it’s not surprising you don’t remember” She stood up and smiled “I’m so glad you have made a friend, and with such a lovely boy” I smiled at her as she left “Oh mum!” I shouted after her

“Yes?” She poked her head around the door

“What time is it?”

“Its 1 in the afternoon” She left, my eyes widened,

“So I have been unconscious for a whole day?” I said to my self, I tried getting out of bed but I stayed sat on the edge scared that I might fall again if I try to stand, I could see my reflection in the mirror opposite my bed.

I was pale and I had a huge bruise and a slight cut along my left cheekbone and my stomach was still bruised, I sighed, I still can’t remember what happened.

I decided to stay in my bed for the rest of the day too scared of trying to stand, my mum and sister kept checking on me every 30 minutes, It was 3:30 and I was reading a book, the door suddenly opened but I didn’t pay too much attention, I just figured it was my sister or mum again.

“Your awake then?” I looked up to see Kyuhyun standing in the doorway, I closed my book and smiled at him, he walked over and sat on the edge of my bed “You feel better?”

“Yeh, my head still hurts but my stomach doesn’t as much as it did” He smiled “Good”

I looked down “What’s the matter?” He asked

“You never answered my question…” His eyebrows furrowed

“Question?”

“Yes, when I woke up in the nurses office, I asked what happened…”

“Oh you still don’t remember?” I shook my head and he looked down as if he was ashamed of something “Oh… Well, you know my gang… well, when we got to school they were waiting for me and I tried to make them accept you and I thought it would work but they didn’t like it and they tried to hurt me but you saved me…” I smiled I saved him? How? “And when you did…”

“Wait… how did I save you” I asked emphasizing the ‘I’ and ‘you’, he laughed a little “You kicked Carl in the balls” He couldn’t help but laugh, but then his face went back to serious “But after that they… well… damn! I should have stopped them!” I lift up his chin and smiled,

“Hey, its over now and I’m fine, lets not dwell on the past” I told him, He smiled and handed me a book.

“What’s this?” I opened it to see schoolwork “No way you actually made a note of everything!” I had a huge grin on my face “You’re the best friend I’ve ever had!” I leaned forward to hug him but didn’t get very far till a shooting pain shot through me “Ah” I leaned back again but laughed “I’m fine, but I guess I wont be moving for a while” my face suddenly went serious when I remembered that Kyuhyun and I had to Sing at prom.

“Oh yeh, we have to sing at prom… I better be well by then” He leaned forward and hugged me instead, my heart rate rose instantly and I went bright red, Kyuhyun was hugging me!

“Don’t worry I know you will be up and walking in a few days, but until then we have to choose a song and practise it” I nodded “Which reminds me… You still have to sang for me” the edges of his mouth rose up as he gave me an evil smirk, I could feel my cheeks getting hotter “Oh I-I… Umm…” I couldn’t think of a song on the spot.

Just then I thought of a song I had learnt last week and decided to sing:

I opened my eyes and saw Kyuhyun looking at me with amazement; both his mouth and eyes were wide open, I waved my hand in front of his face “K-Kyu? Are you ok?” He then closed his mouth and shook his head but his eyes were still wide,

“That was… Wow…” I blushed a little “Why haven’t I heard you sing before? Your singing just as beautiful as your piano playing” He smiled at me his smile was so warm.

“T-thanks, but now you’ve heard me sing shall we choose a song for prom?” He nodded

“How about what you where just singing?” I shook my head

“No, the students would want an up beat song” We both stayed silent for while trying to think,

“What about Super Juniors new album? There is a song called ‘Butterfly’ and its exciting and fast and it has a bit of French so it will be unexpected” I looked at Kyu to see what his reply would be or if he had maybe thought of a better one but he just smiled and nodded.

“Yeh that sound good to me, do you have it so I can listen?” I nodded and without thinking tried to get out of bed to get my Ipod, but Kyu stopped me before I could even get to the edge of the bed, “Ill get what ever you were getting” He laughed before standing up and walking over to my shelves, he then turned back round to me “So what am I getting?” I giggled,

“My Ipod, Its on the top shelf” I pointed and he reached for it and brought it over, we took an ear piece each and I played the song.

After he had listened to it he put my Ipod back “Yeh that was great, I can’t wait to sing it with you” a huge grin formed on his lips as he sat back down on my bed,

“Great, maybe everyday after school we could practise?”

“Sounds like a plan” He said raising his hand, I raised an eyebrow confused at what he was doing, he then shook his head laughing a little and took my arm and forced a high 5

“Oh…” I laughed at my stupidity.

We carried out the plan every day as suggested; I was back at school after 3 days in bed and had all ready caught up with my work so I didn’t have to worry too much, There was only 3 days till the prom and we had practised and learnt all the word within a week, I had downloaded the instrumental of the song so the DJ can play it and we had shown Tracey yesterday and she loved it!

The only problem left to solve was… Kyu, I was still in love with him and he doesn’t even know… As far as he’s concerned we are just best friends and nothing more.

“Wookie you ready?” I was packing up to go home, as it was the end of the day,

“Nearly!” I shouted back to him, he was waiting at the classroom door for me causing me to hurry, I tried to put my books in my bag as quickly as possible so not to keep him waiting but then my arm nudged my bag and it fell over causing all the books to fall out,

“!” I cursed crouching down to pick them up, just then someone kneeled down next to me and helped pick up my books.

“You really shouldn’t curse Wookie… It doesn’t suit you” Kyu said without looking at me, I just looked down, I felt as if I had disappointed him.

After I had finally packed away my many books we started to walk home and my head was still down,

“What’s wrong Wookie?” Kyu asked bending over, I think he was trying to check I wasn’t crying, but I kept my head down

“It’s nothing…”

“It’s obviously not nothing Wookie! You’ve been acting unlike yourself all day…” He kept looking at me; I could feel it, my heart raced as I felt under pressure suddenly,

“I-I… It’s nothing!” I didn’t mean to shout but how can I tell him that I’m secretly in love with him!?
