All the lights were dimmed, people in gowns and tux were everywhere, and booths of all activities were set in all places. Today C-JES were having a party for all its artists, employers, and staffs over all. A time to just relax and have fun in this enormous ballroom, which was themed as a carnival. That’s right, what’s a carnival without games, a great performance, and maybe even some fortune telling.

Lee Yunmi entered the room, and the atmosphere immediately enveloped her. She wore dark violet dress that flowed to her knees; it fitted her perfectly well, flaunting her curves, and glittered when the light hit her at a certain angle, brightening her up exposing her white skin. Her hair was curled and shoved to one side of her shoulder and her makeup brought out the best of her features. She bowed and waved at everyone who greeted her and made her way deeper into the crowd.

“Annyeong~” Someone tapped Yunmi’s shoulder and she swiftly turn around to see a playfully smile.

“Junsu.” She smiled and gave him a hug.

“You look stunning as usual.” Yoochun joined in.

“And you look handsome as always.” She complimented back.

“Guys—“ Jaejoong came from behind them but suddenly paused, as well as her. They just stood there taking in each other’s full appearance. His jet black hair was wavy as one side was tucked behind his ear, and he looked absolutely perfect in a classic tuxedo. “Yunmi.” He said softly and a tingling feeling filled her up from hearing his voice say her name.

“Jaejoong.” She said back.

“You look beautiful.” He said as if in an awed trance.

“You too, you look beautiful.” She lightly teased and the corner of his lips lifted up into a smile. While Yoochun and Junsu just stood there in shock, because for once Jaejoong didn’t bite back at her remark. “So where’s Minjee?” She asked.

“At my sister’s place.” He responded and she nodded in understanding.

“Yunmi!” Hyeso called her from across the floor and waved above everyone’s head.

“Excuse me.” Yunmi shyly smiled and bid goodbye, going to a crazily looking Hyeso.

“What was that about?” Junsu asked Jaejoong when she was far enough.

“What?”

“You and Yunmi are suddenly civil? It was like just yesterday you guys were at each other’s throat.” Yoochun added.

“You guys enjoy seeing us fight?”

“No, but what’s with the sudden change?” Yoochun asked but Jaejoong just shrugged.

The inside carnival was a blast. Yunmi was throwing darts at balloons and learning how to shoot an arrow from a fellow, although truthfully men just wanted to be near her. While JYJ sang their best hits and danced with the crazed women. “Yunmi, let’s try some fortune telling!” Hyeso exclaimed and dragged Yunmi’s arm to a dark tented booth at the corner, away from the main entertainments.

“Oh Hyeso, I don’t really believe in those things.” Yunmi denied.

“Psh~ who does? It’s just for fun. Come on.” And with that, Yunmi was dragged away. The line was unbelievably long, making Yunmi sighed.

“Oh~ hyung let’s try this!” A squeaky voice was heard behind her. Yunmi peeked behind her to see that the three men had stood beside them.

“Ugh, Junsu really?” Jaejoong whined.

“Hey I want my fortune told, okay.” He defended himself.

“Whatever, I’m not doing it.”

“You don’t have to, just wait for us.” Yoochun told him.

“You’re doing it too?” Jaejoong asked Chun in shock.

Yoochun shrugged. “I want to know if I’m getting a girl anytime soon.” He joked.

When they all caught sight of Yunmi glancing at them, she quickly gave out a nervous smile and turn forward. The line had moved faster than she expected, but right when it was her turn a young female with her hood up covering her face came to the old lady who was doing the telling and whispered something into her ear. The old lady nodded and stood up, everyone in line was confused for a minute until the young woman sat down on the old lady’s spot. Everyone had just expected that they shifted positions and went along with it.

The woman wore a dark navy blue robe that was big on her body and as the lights flashed around to her, you can see that the robe waved in other colors…like an aurora. Her gemmed accessories twinkled in the dimmed room and the hood covering half her face only showed her nose and lips. She cleared and waved a hand at Yunmi to come forward. Yunmi hesitated but took the seat in front of her, with a big typical crystal ball in the middle of the table.

“So what would you like to know?” She asked in her low and soft melodic voice.

“Uh, nothing in particular. Just tell me anything.” Yunmi responded.

The mysterious girl’s lips turned into a smirked and she pretended to wave a hand over the crystal ball like some magic, for she knew the real truth already. “You were once off track, definitely off the path you were supposed to be on. And you weren’t the only one.”

Yunmi’s eyebrows furrowed together. “What do you mean?”

“You see, once you step off the path even by just a little bit, it can affect another person.” She said and Yunmi can picture her rolling her eyes under the hood. “And then you fight like tigers and shift even farther apart than you’re supposed to.”

“Wait! What other person?” Yunmi asked, raising her voice a little higher. But her heart and mind told her that she knew.

“I’m afraid you already know.” The lady smiled, looking up a little bit to expose her shining blue eyes.

At the corner of Yunmi’s eye she caught Jaejoong, and they shared a confusing moment together for just a second, before Yunmi her lips and turn back to the “fortune teller”. “So what do I have to do to get back on track?”

“Nothing.” The woman tilted her head to the side and observed Yunmi. “You’re already back on. The only problem is, stay there. Both of you.” She said as if threatening Jaejoong too.

“H-how do I know if I’m on it or not?” Yunmi stuttered.

“You’ll know, because she’s guiding you.” Her voice turned soft.

“Who?” Yunmi whispered, for she can guess the answer.

The mystery lady reached over and touched Yunmi’s hand. “Your daughter.”

Yunmi’s eyes widen and she jerked her hand back while Jaejoong’s jaw clenched, hearing the whole conversation. “What!?! How do you know about Minjee!?” She whispered harshly.

The girl looked up uninterested and just replied. “My time’s up.” She stood up and left, just in time for the old woman to come back to take her seat.

“Wait!” Jaejoong and Yunmi shouted in unison, but she didn’t stop and disappeared into the crowd. Jaejoong and Yunmi stared at each other incredulously and in an instant, Yunmi was out of her seat and with Jaejoong they ran into the crowd to follow her, leaving the batch of people confused but shrugged and went on anyway.

They pushed people around, searching for her mystical robe anywhere but it was as if she vanished into thin air. Jaejoong and Yunmi stood in the middle of the floor huffing out air, eyes scanning everyone quickly with a blur. For she was no ordinary “fortune teller” and she knew things they didn’t, like the mystery of Minjee. And they needed answers.

*Squeals~!!* I imagined this chapter ever since this idea came to me and I hope I made it just as exciting as I imagined. And no…she’s not a fortune teller, more on it later ^^
