Chapter 4
The Successful Woman's Guide in Finding yourselfI looked at the time. It was 4:45. Hopefully, I would get ready in time. I wasn't really considering this outing with Taeyang as a date. More like hanging out. Seems legit.
I slid on some dark washjeans, a blue floral top, and a grey cardigan. I carefully applied my makeup and pulled back the bangs on my freshly trimmed bob. As I changed my bag to a brown leather tote, my cell phone had vibrated.
From: Taecyeon
To: You
5:20PM -------------------
Hey, being the great, funny, and cute friend that I am, I told
Taeyang that he should pick you up, so I gave him you're address.
Have fun on your date, baby bo0. xox0 ;)
Of course Tae would do that. It's so like him. I'm pretty sure he convinced Taeyang in some way to ask me out.
To: Taecyeon
From: Me
5:23PM ---------------------
It's not a date Tae. And remind me to thank you
for telling him where I live, ugly. From your baby bo0. T.T
I continued to get ready and spray light bursts of a floral perfume I bought before I moved. I put on my silver heart necklace Amanda had gotten me when there was a knock on the door.
"Let's get this over with." I thought to myself.
I walked downstairs, slid on my black pumps and opened the door and greeted Taeyang. What did I get myself into?
---------------------------------------------------
I looked out onto the city as the cool breeze hit my face. I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes.
"Feels good to relax once in a while, doesn't it?" Taeyang said as he let out a heavy sigh.
"Yeah, it does... More than I thought actually." I said looking over at him, smiling.
He returned with a smile of his own.
"Thanks for taking me out. I really needed this. I've been.. stressed."
"Ah, well, it's no problem. It's good to get away for awhile." He put his hands behind his head and sighed.
I guess I was wrong. Taeyang seemed to be pretty down to earth and relaxed about everything. He seems like a great friend and he really showed me a good time.
"So, where are your parents? Back in America?"
If forgot that him and his friends didn't know I was legally Korean.
"Actually... They live here in Seoul. Not far from here."
"Oh, really? For buisness?"
"Taeyang, they're Korean" I laughed. "I was born here, but they adopted me at birth, so I was also raised as a Korean."
He raised his head up from it's original position. "What, really?"
I nodded.
"Well, didn't they give you a Korean name?" He said scratching the back of his neck.
"When I moved to America, I changed my name to Toni Amber. My original name is Kim Eun Kyung. Daughter of Kim Yun and Kim Hyun Su, granddaughter of Kim Bom."
"That explains a lot." He said chuckling. "Well, welcome home."
Once the ride was over, we stopped to get some ice cream. Taeyang walked me all the way back to my home. It was one of the best nights I had in a long time. I was actually carefree and enjoying myself. I wasn't concerned about checking my phone for appointments as I was before. This move looked like is was going to turn out for the better.
Author's Note: I'm really getting into this. I was going to stop, but I'm not tired so why not continue, haha. Please comment and tell me what you think!
