He shoots, he scores

Just maybe...

HyukJae couldn’t believe that SungMin invited DongHae, even just thinking about his name made his heart flutter a bit. After meeting with his friend he headed back to the field, working on his shot. More pressure fell on him, not only did he want to make sure that he performed well, he also wanted to look worthy in DongHae’s eyes. He wanted to get rid of the 1st impression he made.

Before the night ended he said prayer to give him strength to perform to the best of his abilities.

“GAME TIME!” he heard a loud voice called, as the lights flicked on his room practically blinding him.

“Already” he mumbled. He rolled to his side, begging for more sleep, but that wasn’t going to happen. Junsu rolled him back.

“Come on...” he said as he tapped him on his leg “it’s your first start” he continued as he smiled at his best friend.

“Okay, okay, I’m getting up” Hyuk said as he started to remove the covers off of him. “Now stop smiling at me like that.”

An hour passed and the time was ticking down, they were about to take the field, nerves ran throughout his body, leaving him on edge. He looked over to the bleachers to see his friend, SungMin with the biggest smile on his face, cheering for him, with a banner over his head. Just that sight alone eased his anxiety a bit.

He scanned the rest of the bleachers looking for his invited guest, but didn’t see him or his friend anywhere. Even though he felt a little disappointed that he wasn’t there, relief took over soon, another set of weight lifted off his shoulder.

1st half of the game HyukJae came so close to scoring two goals, one hit the right pole on the net, and the other one he was robbed by the goaltender who made a diving play.

Just as he they were coming out the tunnel he heard his name being called.

“HyukJae-ah” he looked over to the right side to see SungMin with the same smile he saw at the start. “Relax, you’re doing amazing out there” he continued to say, clearly seeing that his friend was tense. “Did you hear me, i started screaming before the ball hit the post i thought that was a for sure goal”

“Yeah i thought it was in too” he said as the image crossed his mind.

“Well instead of the outside of the post, hit the inside...i’ll treat you tonight” Sungmin said as he made a cute face, easing him with his aegyo.

“Did...uhm...” HyukJae wanted to know if DongHae came, but the words couldn’t leave his mouth.

“Dont worry about that, you get out there and do your best...” he said with enthusiasm trying to get his friend to focus. “Fighting Hyukkie” he finished off saying.

HyukJae nodded and ran out to the field, he couldn’t help but be happy he has a friend like SungMin who never misses his game and cheers for him regardless if he’s on the field or not.

Just before the whistle was about to be blown, he looked for Minnie in the stand but he didn’t see him where he was before. He shrugged it off knowing SungMin he probably went to get something to eat.

“YA! What took you so long” SungMin said as he spotted DongHae and KyuHyun on his way back to his seat.

“You only said what time, you didn’t give a location, smart one” Kyu said as he glared over at SungMin.

“Well if you weren’t in such a rush, maybe we could’ve done things properly” He retorted as he sat down beside DongHae.

“He was looking for you, i think he’s a little bummed that you weren’t there.” Hearing those words come out of SungMin’s mouth, Hae didn’t like the sound of it. They had left extra early in order to get to the stadium and find good seats, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. They went to three different soccer fields before they decided to give up and ask for directions.

“I’ll be right back, just gonna get my stuff and sit with you guys” Min said as he started to get up.

“I didn’t know we invited you to sit with us” Kyu said with a smirk on his face.

“Kyu” Hae exclaimed as he slapped his best friend on his chest.

“What?” He replied as he turned to face DongHae.

“You know what...” Hae said as he stared at Kyu, sending him a warning.

“I didn’t ask for permission, besides i can sit where i want” Min retorted as if he could care less about what Kyu said.

“Yes you can” Hae said as he smiled at SungMin hoping that everything was alright. All he could think about was that he wanted to get to know HyukJae more and the last thing he needed was to have a bad relation with someone he was obviously close with.

As SungMin walked away, just as he was out of earshot DongHae turned his body towards Kyu, gaining his attention.

“You promised” Hae said, Kyu could hear the disappointment in his voice.

“I was just playing Hae, you know that’s how i am” he said as he forced a smile.

“I know that but SungMin doesn’t know that. So please if you don’t have anything good to say, just keep quiet till the game is done, for me, okay”

“Fine, take away my fun,” Kyu said as he pretended to sulk.

“Thank you” Hae said, fully knowing what Kyu was doing.

All of them were sitting together, SungMin on the right of Hae.

“OMO” Min said as he flew up out of the seat.

Junsu and Hyuk were on a breakaway beating the defence, HyukJae running to the middle, while Junsu flanked the right side.

“PASS TO HYUKKIE!” Min started yelling, getting anxious as to why Junsu hasn’t crossed him yet.

Kyu and Hae eyes widen with anticipation as well as they got closer and closer to the net. Finally Junsu crossed the ball at the perfect time, the goalie was starting to come out the net a bit, but it was too late.

HyukJae strikes the ball with such force, the ball brushed across the goalies finger tips with no intention of slowing down, ripping to the back of the right side of the net.

“YES!” he screamed out as he saw the ball go past the goal line. He fell to his knees as he celebrated with fist pumps. Junsu and other members started to join in with his celebration.

“I knew you could do it” Junsu said as he wrapped his arm around his best friend. HyukJae wrapped his arm around him as well as he looked to the stands to see his other dear friend, with a couple familiar faces.

SungMin was screaming his lungs out, jumping up and down, and waving his banner above his head. Hae was almost as excited as him, while Kyu just sat there feeling a bit embarrassed at the two of them reaction.

As they we made their way back to center field, HyukJae pointed over to where they were, and triumphantly threw his arms in the air.

“That’s my friend” SungMin said as Hyuk pointed towards them.

HyukJae’s goal was the only goal of the game.  After a good ten minutes of persuasion SungMin got Hae and Kyu to agree to celebrate Hyuk’s 1st goal and start win.

Min, Hae and Kyu waited with excitement to greet HyukJae, down the hall from their change room.

As soon as Hyuk stepped out the change room a chorus of cheers greeted him, he couldn’t help but blush to himself.

“Stop it” he said staring at Min, who was the leader of the cheers.

His hair still damp from the shower he took moments ago, Hae couldn’t take his eyes off him. In a white wife beater and track pants, with his bag slung over his right shoulder.  Just as he was about to go in for a hug with Min, Junsu jumped on his back.

“You forgot something” he said as he presented him with his game ball.

The way his arms were slung around HyukJae’s shoulder, Hae wondered if there was more to the teammates in front of him.

Min wasn’t patient at all, he threw his arms away, while sticking his tongue out Junsu.

“It’s our time to celebrate, you already had your victory celebration.” Junsu just smiled at him. All three of them were close; they’ve known each other for a long time.

Kyu looked at Hae noticing that his happy expression was different, sadder than anything.

“Are we gonna celebrate or what?” Kyu said, drawing the attention to him.

“Yeah, we’re going now” SungMin replied as he took his arms from around Hyuk.

“Oh yeah” Hyuk began to say as he turned to Junsu. “I was in the moment when you said lets go celebrate.” He looked back to Min who he knew would be looking at him with questioning eyes.

“It kind of slipped my mind about what you said at half time.”

“Hyukkie” Min teased acting as if he was disappointed but the smirk gave it away.

“Why don’t you just come out with us?” Min said to Junsu.

“Yeah, it’ll be like old times, when all three of us use to hang out.”

Hae looked at Junsu nervously waiting for his reply. He wanted to spend time with HyukJae, but if Junsu came, that would only take away more time he could spend with him.

“It’s okay, you already have plans. I don’t want to intrude.”

“Ya, just come out with us” Hyuk said as he nudged Junsu’s shoulder.

“It’s okay, go out and have fun with your friends” he said looking in the direction of Hae and Kyu. “We’ll just do something when you get back, or even tomorrow, besides my leg is sore, need to go down to see the doctor.”

“Okay” Hyuk said with a sigh. “See you later then” he said as he hugged his best friend.

“Now that that’s settled lets go” Min said while throwing his right arm around Hyuk’s shoulder. They started walking and realized that Kyu and Hae barely took a step back.

Hyuk looked back and then grabbed Hae’s hand.

“Come on, let’s go celebrate” He said with the biggest smile on his face that DongHae has seen, showing his gummy smile, that just about melted Hae’s heart.

“What, did you just ask if we were going to celebrate?” SungMin said examining Kyu’s face, trying to read him. With no response he just pulled him by his arm.

All four guys walked out the stadium entangled in one another.
