Meeting again...

Just maybe...

Hyuk barely made it, if it wasn’t for his long time friend Junsu, he would’ve been caught. He was grateful to his friend not only for covering for him, but also not to ask him questions.

Practice didn’t go as well as Hyuk would’ve liked. He knew he hurt himself but he didn’t think it would’ve hindered his game this much, as practice went on the more and more the pain started to throb through his right ankle. It became noticeable that the coach sent him to get it looked at.

With games coming up soon that would really weigh in on their season, Hyuk was confined to his room for a couple days.

“Hyuk” Hae said out loud as he paced across the living room.

“Come on, it’s been a couple days, you barely met the guy and you still can’t get him out of your head?”

“That’s exactly it; we met for like two minutes Kyu, and in those two minutes, he caught my eye.”

Kyu looked at his friend in complete disbelief. He was having a hard time wrapping his head around it, how his friend DongHae could’ve fell so easily.

“I need to see him, at least one more time” the dark hair guy said in defeat, as he plopped back down on the living room sofa.

Even though Kyu wasn’t fully on board with what his friend was going through, one thing for sure was that he didn’t like seeing his friend like this, unless it was him causing it.

“Why don’t we go by that area again and see if we see him or something, maybe he hangs out around there” the brunette nudge his friend, trying to cheer him up with a little incentive.

“I doubt it,” he replied as he leaned his head back on the sofa and covered his face in his palm.

“Well you know I work around the street from the club so you can always swing by in the day, instead of just, whatever it is that you’re doing. Just so you know it’s not healthy” Kyu said, before he started getting his stuff together to leave.

“You say that like I don’t work too” Hae said as he turned to face Kyu, who’s putting on his shoes at the door.

“I know that” he said as he smiled at him. “But I’ve noticed you don’t talk about your day at work like you used too, you just keep saying Hyuk and looking all depressed. It’s not you, so cheer up, or else I’m gonna start hitting you.” Kyu warned.

“YA!” the dark hair guy replied and then they both laughed as Kyu walked out the door.

A week later things were back to normal, Hyuk was once again living up to the potential that his coaches saw in him. DongHae was working at the little SM bakery shop, with random thoughts of Hyuk, but wasn’t as bothered anymore to get to know who he was.

“Hey, I was meaning to ask did you hear about the fight that happened last week” Min said.

Like usual they met up their favourite cafe, and was catching up on each other’s daily life.

“When..? I’ve been practicing so much lately I’d be lucky if I remember what I had for dinner last night”

“That bad eh...? I’m glad you’re sticking with it and focusing on your goal”

“Yeah, I’m this close you know, I could be a striker soon, if I keep scoring goals.”

“That’s good” SungMin said with a big smile on his face.

“You’re coming to my game tomorrow right?” HyukJae asked.

“Of course, no way would I miss your first start” Min replied as he smiled even more with his friend.

“Okay good.” Hyuk said as he started getting up from his seat

“Where are you going?” Min asked.

“I need a refill” he said as he gestured towards his empty bottle.  “You want anything?”

“Surprise me” Min replied in such a cute way, Hyuk couldn’t help but laugh.

“You need to stop being so damn cute, you’re a grown man for crying out loud”

Instead of replying with words, Min made a sad puppy dog face, and with that, Hyuk was smiling again.

“See you just can’t resist my charm,” SungMin said as he got up from his chair. “Now go and surprise me,” he finished off as he pushed HyukJae towards the front of the store.

With that push, Hyuk went into a dark hair guy passing by.

“Oh sorry” Hyuk said without even looking up at the guy he just walked into, instead he turned back to Min and said you’re dead.

The dark hair guy did a double take but all he saw was the back of Hyuk’s head.

“So what did you get me” SungMin said with both hands outstretched, like a little kid waiting for their treat.

The blonde hair guy slowly brought the Pot-Bing Su into view. SungMin’s face lit up, as he eyed the desert; shaved ice, with red beans in the ever so sweet flavour of syrup, with fruit toppings. The strawberries cut into pieces looked so delicious, along with the kiwi and oh gawd the ice cream with the cherry on top, was more than enough to make his mouth water.

“Thank you” SungMin said as he pulled the Pot-Bing Su towards him.

“I hope you’re going to save me some of those strawberries at least” Hyuk teased.

“I know I know” Min replied as he filled his mouth with another spoonful.

“Hey sorry to interrupt, but is your name...” Before Hae could finish saying what he wanted, he felt a hand pull his left arm, pulling him away from the table.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Kyu asked.

“I think that’s the guy from that night, I just wanted to make sure” Hae replied nonchalant.

“So what if he’s the guy, he didn’t even recognize you when you two just walked into each other, he didn’t even look back.”

“You know we can hear you right” SungMin said as he his spoon off.

Kyu and DongHae both turned around looking at the direction the voice came from.

“Your point, clearly I wasn’t talking to you” Kyu retorted, looking at SungMin.

“That I can see, but you were clearly talking about my friend here.” Finally HyukJae turned around to see who Min was talking to and what was going on. As Hyuk turned towards Hae and Kyu, DongHae knew right away that it was the same guy, the same HyukJae that was on his mind. He couldn't forget that jaw line, nor those eyes.

The dark hair guy nudged Kyu, “I knew it was him”

“Doesn’t matter, clearly he doesn’t remember you”

“So...how do you know my friend?” SungMin continued to bud into their conversation.

Kyu was just about to reply to SungMin who was starting to bother him for interrupting their conversation, but Hae put his hand on his chest, and then began walking towards the table again.

“A week or so ago I saw him, and he looked like he was hurt, I just wanted to make sure he was okay. Sorry to interrupt” he said as he bowed his head a bit.

“OMO” the word slipped out Hyuk's mouth, as he shied away from Hae.

“So, you do know him” SungMin said, noticing his HyukJae’s reaction. Min pulled up a chair from a nearby table and gestured for Hae to sit. “I want to know how you two met, and why haven’t you told me about this handsome guy yet Hyukkie”

Hae Pulled up the seat and looked at SungMin and then to Hyuk, lingering on him for awhile before realizing that his friend has yet to sit down at the table.

“Kyu” Hae said, as he pleaded with his eyes, for his friend to just go with this for now.

“We only got five minutes before our break is over” Kyu said as he let out a sigh and pulled out a chair and sat opposite of his friend.

Hae quickly went over how he saw HyukJae the night of the fight, SungMin interjected to tell Hyuk that was the fight he was talking about earlier but didn’t get to finish.

“I saw that when you took off that night that you had a slight limp, I don’t know why but I was worried about you.” When the words left his mouth, he wanted to slap himself, even though he meant it. Hae couldn’t figure out what it was about this beautiful blonde guy that drew him to him.

            “I’m okay now” Hyuk replied.

“So you were hurt..., but you told me you were okay when you left” Hae said as he deepened his stare on Hyuk, which lead Hyuk to look away, feeling overwhelmed.

“I didn’t mean to lie; I was just in a hurry” Hyuk replied in all honesty.

Silence filled the table. SungMin observed Hyuk and Hae with a smirk on his face, clearly noticing that there’s something going on that isn’t being talked about. Kyu couldn’t help but stare at all three, looking at them with different looks. Hyuk: is he right for my friend? Hae: I hope this doesn’t turn out bad for him. Min: aish... but he’s kind of cute too, were the kinds of thoughts flowing through Kyu’s head.

“Hae, we gotta go or else we’re going to be late” Kyu said as he pushed his chair out and let out a frustrated breath.

“It was nice to meet you...” SungMin said as he put out his right hand in DongHae’s direction.

            “DongHae, nice to meet you”

“My name is SungMin” he replied with a smile, showing his cute side. “You’re Kyu right?” he said as he looked in KyuHyun’s direction.

“Yeah, and we’re going to be late” he said as he looked at Min’s none changing smile and then sighed as looked to Hae.

“Maybe I’ll see you around again HyukJae” Hae said as he put his hand out to him for a handshake. Hyuk took his hand and nod his head nervously.

“If you want to see him again, you can see him at his soccer game tomorrow at FC dynamite stadium tomorrow at 1pm, he’s starting just so you know” SungMin said as he winked at DongHae.

“Ming” Hyuk said, clearly embarrassed that his friend just invited DongHae.

“We’ll be there” Hae said as he looked at Hyuk with killer smile that is known for melting hearts.

“We...” Kyu said as he looked at Hae with a disapproving look.

“Of course the both of you have to come; you can’t let your friend go solo.” SungMin teased Kyu. He couldn’t help but smile, he wasn’t usually one for teasing but something about Kyu’s mood made it all too easy for him.

“Let’s go” Kyu said as he gave SungMin the evil eye. When SungMin smiled at him, instead of meeting him with an equal look, he began to walk away.

“You coming or not...?”  Kyu called to Hae. The dark hair guy couldn’t help but laugh, it’s been awhile since he saw someone get under KyuHyun’s skin like that.

“Bye” Hae said as he smiled and then turned around to meet up with Kyu.
