“Jiyoonie!” Kyuhyun warmly greeted as he dropped onto the chair opposite Jiyoon, books in hand.
“Oppa!” She looked up from her stack of papers and smiled.
“The boy from your course isn’t sticking to you like a fly?” He looked around for signs of an unwelcome face.
“Escaped right after lecture today. Don’t wish to field his fundamental questions about comparative advantage.”
“That should be very basic, isn’t it? Even I know about it. How can he not know?”
“Precisely. I swear, he’s just asking me those questions to spite me. Time waster. Deserves to be shaken off.”
“I think he has a crush on you.” Kyuhyun dryly commented, then chuckled at the notion.
“Not you too!” Jiyoon pretended to gag, “That’s what all the female coursemates say.”
“There is no smoke without fire.”
“Who the heck hits on girls by pretending to be stupid!” Jiyoon drives the end of her pen into the textbook.
“I’d think it’s pretty obvious, no?”
“I’m starting to understand why matters like these bother girls so much.”
“Some will take advantage of them instead. Enlist them as your porter. Ask for material comforts.” Kyuhyun didn’t look up from his stack of papers/
“Those are the girls who wish to have as many suitors as humanly possible to do their bidding. I mean normal girls.”
“Do you even fall into the category of normal? I think not.” Wicked undertones in Kyuhyun’s voice.
“Point taken.” Jiyoon twirls her pen, “What do you think I should do?”
“Continue what you’re doing. You’re not doing anything wrong, I think.”
“You think so?”
“Frankly, I’d rather be told straight in the face, but that’s not something that all can take. You’ve been fairly obvious in your lack of interest.”
“Sickeningly obvious. Goodness.” Jiyoon let her eyes roll.
“Guys are dumb.”
“Disheartening hearing that from a guy who I actually think is very intelligent.”
“If I were that intelligent, I wouldn’t attract girls I don’t like.”
“I must be dumb too then.”
“That aside. Oh yes, are you free tonight? Dinner with Gayoon and Doojoon?” Jiyoon recalled the text from Gayoon earlier.
“Wouldn’t I be intruding?” Kyuhyun now was puzzled enough to let his eyes drift from his papers.
“Well, I’m already an unneeded lamppost with Gayoon and Doojoon, don’t you think?” Jiyoon shrugged.
“True, but there is no need for another extra?”
“Gayoon told me to ask you. It’s your choice.”
“You know what a low opinion I have of this Doojoon guy.”
Jiyoon drove her foot against the floor. Kyuhyun stifled his laughter, “Rock bottom low, yes.”
“But what to do, Gayoon likes him. She says he’s changed. For the better. I don’t know if I should believe her, but it’s not really what I think is it?”
“Doojoon? Changed?” Kyuhyun snorted in disbelief, “Oh, I need to see for myself. I won’t believe it unless I see this with my own eyes.”
“So you’re coming?”
“My fe
