The Hospital

Love & SEOUL

Hyuna had been in the hospital for a few days now, and she was feeling more and more isolated with each passing hour. She had tried to put on a brave face for her family and friends, but deep down, she was scared.

Kim Shin Young, a popular DJ, had heard about Hyuna's hospitalization and decided to pay her a visit. She arrived at Hyuna's room with a bright smile and a bag full of snacks and goodies.

"Hey, girl!" she said cheerfully. "I brought you some treats to help you feel better."

Hyuna managed a small smile, grateful for the company. "Thank you, Shin Young," she said softly. "I appreciate it."

They chatted for a while, catching up on the latest gossip and news from the entertainment industry. Shin Young cracked a few jokes and made Hyuna laugh, which was a welcome relief from the heaviness she had been feeling lately.

As they were talking, Shin Young's phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and frowned.

"It's Hyunseung," she said, showing the screen to Hyuna. "Do you want me to answer?"

Hyuna's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't spoken to Hyunseung in months, not since the day she wandered off to Cube and had a panic attack.

"Sure," she said hesitantly. "But tell him I'm not feeling well."

Shin Young nodded and answered the call. "Hey, Hyunseung! What's up?"

Hyuna couldn't hear what he was saying, but she could tell from Shin Young's expression that it was something important.

"Okay, I'll let her know," Shin Young said, hanging up the phone. She turned to Hyuna, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Guess who's coming to see you?"

Hyuna's heart leapt into . "Who?"

"Hyunseung," Shin Young said with a grin.

Hyuna's first instinct was to panic. She wasn't ready to face him yet, not after everything that had happened between them. But then she remembered how much she had missed him, how much she had longed to see him again.

"Okay," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Shin Young patted her hand. "Don't worry, girl. I'll be here with you the whole time."

Hyunseung couldn't shake off the worry and fear that had taken root in his chest as he made his way to the hospital. He had no idea what had happened to Hyuna, but the fact that she was there, and in such a state, filled him with a sense of dread.

As he arrived at the hospital, he made his way to the front desk and asked about Hyuna. The receptionist told him what room she was in, and he rushed to the elevator, his heart pounding in this chest.

As he walked down the hallway towards her room, he couldn't help but feel nervous. He hadn't seen Hyuna since that day in March. And now, she was lying in a hospital bed.

He took a deep breath and pushed open the door to her room. Hyuna was lying in bed, looking pale and frail. Her eyes were closed, and her breathing was shallow and labored.

Hyunseung felt his heart break as he looked at her. He had always cared deeply for Hyuna, and seeing her like this, so vulnerable and alone, was almost too much to bear.

As he sat down next to her bed, he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by all the memories that flooded back to him. Memories of their time together, their laughter and tears, their hopes and dreams. Memories of their breakup, the pain and the hurt that had never fully healed.

And now, here they were, reunited by fate and circumstance, with nothing but each other to rely on.

As he sat there, lost in his thoughts, the door suddenly opened.

She smiled brightly at Hyunseung, as if she hadn't seen him in years.

"Hyunseung, what are you doing here?" Kim Shin Young asked, her voice full of teasing. "Did you finally come to see me?"

Hyunseung couldn't help but smile at her antics, despite the seriousness of the situation. Kim Shin Young had always been a good friend to him and Hyuna, and her lightheartedness was a welcome distraction from the heavy weight of his thoughts.

"I wish I could say that I came to see you, Shin Young," he said, chuckling softly. "But I'm here for Hyuna. She's not doing so well."

As they sat there, the three of them, talking and reminiscing, Hyunseung felt a sense of comfort wash over him. He was reminded of the good times, of the laughter and the joy that had once filled their lives.

And for a moment, it felt like nothing had changed. Like they were still young and carefree, with the world at their feet.

But then, reality set in, and Hyunseung was reminded of why he was there. Hyuna was sick, and he needed to be there for her.

As they talked, he couldn't help but feel grateful for Kim Shin Young's presence. She had a way of making even the darkest moments feel a little bit lighter, a little bit less unbearable.

Kim Shin Young smiled knowingly as she watched the two of them. "I'll leave you two alone," she said, winking at Hyunseung as she exited the room.

Hyunseung took a seat beside Hyuna's bed, his eyes never leaving her face. "How are you feeling?" he asked, his voice soft.

Hyuna shrugged her shoulders, feeling a sudden wave of sadness wash over her. "I've been better," she said, her voice trembling slightly.

Hyunseung reached out and took her hand, his touch gentle and comforting. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice full of concern. "I wish I could make everything better."

Hyuna felt a lump form in at his words, and she had to fight back tears. She couldn't believe that he was here, sitting beside her like this. It felt like a dream.

"I missed you," she blurted out before she could stop herself.

Hyunseung's eyes widened in surprise, but then he smiled. "I missed you too," he said, his voice low.

They sat in silence for a moment, neither of them sure what to say. Hyuna felt a mix of emotions, happiness at seeing Hyunseung again, but also a sense of sadness and regret for all the time they lost.

"I'm sorry," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm sorry for everything that happened between us. I wish I could go back and change things like they used to be."

Hyunseung shook his head, his eyes never leaving hers. "Don't be sorry," he said. "Everything happens for a reason. And I'm just glad that we can be here, together, right now."

Hyuna felt a sense of relief wash over her at his words. She had been holding onto so much guilt and regret, but now she could start to let go.

As Hyunseung stood up to leave, he noticed someone familiar walking towards him. It was Dawn, Hyuna's current very public boyfriend. Hyunseung's heart sank at the sight of him, and he couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy.

Dawn approached him, looking concerned. "Hyunseung, is everything okay?" he asked.

Hyunseung hesitated for a moment before responding. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said, trying to mask his emotions.

Dawn looked at him skeptically, but didn't push further. "I came to visit Hyuna," he said, gesturing.

Hyunseung's heart ached at the mention of her name.

Dawn nodded. "She's stable now, but she's going to need to rest for a while," he said.

Hyunseung forced a smile, feeling conflicted.

"Thanks, but I think I should go," Hyunseung said, turning to leave.

Dawn put a hand on his shoulder, stopping him. "Hey, Hyunseung. I know we haven't really talked much since I was in Pentagon and such, but I just wanted to say that I respect you, man.  And I appreciate everything you did for Hyuna back in the day; I can take good care of her now."

Hyunseung looked at him in surprise, not expecting those words from Dawn. He nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude and at the same knowing that he had to back-off.

"Thanks, Dawn. I appreciate it," he said, before finally leaving the hospital room.

As he walked through the hospital corridors, his mind was a jumbled mess. He didn't know what to think or feel anymore. All he knew was that he still loved Hyuna, and it was tearing him apart.

As he stepped outside into the warm night air, he took a deep breath and tried to compose himself. He needed to figure out what he was going to do next, and how he was going to move forward.

The warm night air of Seoul in August brushed Hyunseung's face. The city was alive with the sound of traffic and chatter, and the neon lights of the nearby businesses illuminated the streets. He could see people walking about, enjoying their evening, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over him. He stopped at a nearby pojangmacha.

Sitting down at the pojangmacha, Hyunseung ordered a bottle of soju and some snacks to go along with it. He needed some time to clear his head and think about his feelings for Hyuna and the unexpected words of understanding from Dawn. The sights and sounds of the city provided a comforting distraction, as he tried to make sense of his emotions.

As he sipped on the soju, Hyunseung's mind wandered back to the happy moments he had shared with Hyuna over the years. They had been through so much together, and their connection had always been special. He knew he couldn't just forget about her, but he also had to accept the fact that she had moved on and found happiness with Dawn.

Feeling a bit lighter after a few drinks, Hyunseung decided that he would focus on his own happiness and career. He couldn't change the past, but he could work on building a brighter future for himself.

In the following weeks, Hyunseung threw himself into his work, trying to keep his mind off Hyuna, but he couldn't stop his heart.
