From Here We Go SublimeINT. KITCHEN - JUNG RESIDENCE - MORNING
JESSICA is sitting at the table having a light breakfast, eggs and toast. She has a book in hand, A Parisian Affair by Guy de Maupassant.
Enters KRYSTAL, walking toward JESSICA with a chary expression.
KRYSTAL
You’re reading one of my books.
JESSICA looks up at KRYSTAL, startled.
JESSICA
I saw it lying on the gazebo. I liked the cover and thought it might be an interesting read. Hope you don’t mind.
KRYSTAL shakes her head.
KRYSTAL
I don’t.
JESSICA smiles and sets the book down.
JESSICA
You’re always up so early.
KRYSTAL
I prefer to ride my bicycle in the morning. The air feels better and there’s less people out.
JESSICA nods in agreement.
KRYSTAL
I was wondering if you could take me to my therapy appointment? It’s too far for me to bike there.
JESSICA
Yeah, of course.
JESSICA rises to her feet and walks to grab her keys. KRYSTAL walks over behind her. Not realizing how close they were, they bump into each other. They share an awkward glance. JESSICA smiles and tousles the top of KRYSTAL’S hair. KRYSTAL does not object.
INT. DR. QUINN’S OFFICE - MORNING
KRYSTAL is sitting in front of DR.QUINN’s desk. He is speaking with great intensity causing KRYSTAL to look pained. KRYSTAL shifts in her seat as DR. QUINN points down at a pamphlet on his desk; the pamphlet reads “Living With Bipolar Disorder” in a large font. KRYSTAL looks down at the pamphlet with hurt in her eyes. She looks out the window, now ignoring DR QUINN’S harsh words.
INT. WAITING ROOM OF DR. QUINN’S OFFICE - MORNING
KRYSTAL exits the office into the waiting room, pamphlet in hand. JESSICA looks up from an old, raggedy copy of Psychology Today.
JESSICA
All done?
KRYSTAL nods, eyes beginning to swell.
As they exit the door, KRYSTAL crumbles the pamphlet in her hand.
INT./EXT. JESSICA’S CAR - MID-DAY
JESSICA and KRYSTAL are sitting silently in the car. JESSICA looks over to KRYSTAL and sees the crumbled pamphlet in KRYSTAL’S hand.
JESSICA
(nodding at the pamphlet)
What’s that?
KRYSTAL stuffs the pamphlet into her pocket.
KRYSTAL
Nothing.
They sit in silence again.
JESSICA
(breaking the silence)
So, how’d it go?
KRYSTAL leans her head against the window, staring out at the buildings passing by.
KRYSTAL
I need to stop by the pharmacy before we go home.
JESSICA
Everything okay?
KRYSTAL
My therapist called my psychiatrist and they want to adjust my medication.
JESSICA
What are they adjusting?
KRYSTAL sighs heavily, fogging up the window.
KRYSTAL
They’re raising the dosages.
JESSICA bites the inside of her cheek and continues to stare ahead at the road.
JESSICA
Is that a good thing?
KRYSTAL shuts her eyes tightly, holding back tears.
KRYSTAL
Can you put on “The Boxer”?
JESSICA glances over at KRYSTAL, a puzzled look on her face.
JESSICA
Simon & Garfunkel?
KRYSTAL nods, eyes once again fixated on every passing buildin
