Prologue : Dense

i. Loving someone doesn't mean that they are yours to keep.

"You're getting better at lying, Jaebum." Seulgi scoffed mockingly, finally shading off her malevolent and unforgiving nature. She could've easily pull out her knife and stab him in the moment he cornered her into the room but Jaebum had already held her hands tightly and pinned her to the wall before she could do anything. Suddenly, the air around her feels too stiff and its suffocating to be this near to him. Jaebum is a danger you can't take your eyes off, he's too alluring to resist. He beckoned you closer, like a moth to flame, like icarus to sun. You'll burn away even before you know it.

ii. We keep our enemy close to us.

"Don't lie to me Jennie. I know you won't kill yourself because you're afraid to die." He sounds like he was trying to joke, but why does it sounds so sad, so painful instead?

"Hey Jennie, look at me." He put his hands on her cold cheek, caressing it deliberately and it left her breathless. 
 
"You can stop all the pretense now, I know you're getting tired. You've been hiding behind so many layers, Jennie. You created so many version of you, the pliant daughter of a chaebol, the loving friend, the pitiful victim, all for the sake of vegeance and revenge, but haven't you noticed yet, that the only person you manage to kill is your old self?"
