My Seven RoommatesThe cafeteria was full of people and it felt like all eyes where on me. Being a stranger it would make sense for them to stare. Jae helped me pick out food and we took the last seats at a table that where across from each other. I noticed that the people we were sitting with where the boys who were outside the building when I came in. They were a friendly group and made time pass by quick as we ate. We finally finished and decided it was a good time to take me home. We walked to the front entrance.
“So, I’ll meet you at the light down a little ways, ok?” Jae said to me before making it to the exit.
“Why’s that?” I questioned him.
“Well I have to go out the back way,” he said with a smile. “I can’t be seen walking out the front with a girl.” He rubbed the back of his head.
“That makes since. I’ll see you in a little bit.”
The walk out to the light didn't take long to get to but waiting for Jae felt like an eternity. When he finally did show up we started on our two hour trip. Honestly, we didn't do that much talking I just wanted to get home. Jae was able to guide me to the subway station , once off the subway i needed to use the map again to get home but after passing the convenience store I no longer needed my phone.
“It’s just a 20 minute walk from here.” I looked over to Jae to let him know we were almost there.
“Jesus, you live in a nice neighbourhood.” Jae replied back. “Are you sure you didn't get scammed or something? For the price you're paying to live at this place seems kinda odd.”
“Yeah I’m sure, It’s a really nice place. The price is probably cause I have the smallest room.” i watched the steam roll out of my mouth.
“You're not sharing with anyone right?”
“No, my room is way too small for two people to live together.”
“How many roommates do you have again?”
“Seven.”
“Hmmm, interesting.” You could see that he was thinking.
“What?”
“What’s the ratio, 50/50?”
“one to seven,” I said shyly.
“Seven
