Chapter Twenty Nine
He Wouldn'tTaehyung hadn’t lied when he’d said he was going to show more interest in his pregnancy. Since he’d promised to be more involved he’d been reading up on what Jungkook should be experiencing and whenever he came across something he thought was interesting he’d share it with him. Today’s interesting fact had been that since Jungkook was now eighteen almost nineteen weeks pregnant he might, if he was lucky, be able feel the baby move soon. He’d added that he might have felt it already but just hadn’t realised mistaking their baby’s movement for nausea or hunger pangs. This had all been said an hour ago and Jungkook had told him that was good to know then taken up residence on Taehyung’s bed, legs stretched out and back against the headboard. He’d been invited there to watch Taehyung play computer games but he’d spent most of his time with his hand on his belly concentrating hard in the hope that Taehyung was right. He was really starting to show now meaning that at least half of the trousers in his wardrobe were now getting uncomfortably tight. The least the baby could do was apologise for making so many of his clothes unwearable by rewarding him with a few flutters of movement.
And then he felt something that might, just might have been what he was waiting for. Or he thought he did. At his last scan he’d been told by the technician that the baby was lying to the right hand side of his womb so that was where he’d had his hand pressed. He’d thought that if he had his hand over the spot where it was most likely he would feel the baby move he’d be able to differentiate between what might be movement and the myriad of other weird things his stomach did whenever he was hungry.
It had been a bubbling feeling almost, close to the gurgling his stomach sometimes did when he hadn’t eaten in a while but without the noise. He frowned and waited to see if it would happen again. Maybe it felt different because that was what he was hoping for. Maybe it was just his stomach telling him it wanted to be filled. It was only an hour since he’d last eaten but he was hungry nearly all of the time just lately.
Or maybe it was nothing to do with his stomach and everything to do with the baby because he felt it again. A bubbling feeling, almost like a pop, in exactly the same place right under his hand. Unable to help his excitement he shot upright and scrambled onto his knees, hand still pressed to his middle. The sudden movement startled Taehyung enough for him to lose his concentration and lose at whatever game he’d been playing.
“Hey!” He protested before realising that the reason he’d been startled was because the person carrying his baby had jumped up as if he’d just been electrocuted and changing his response. “Are you okay?” he asked, taking in Jungkook’s now slightly dazed expression. “Is something wrong?”
“No, no nothing’s wrong.” Jungkook told him quickly, sorry he’d worried him. “I just… I think I felt the baby move.” He explained, face lighting up in a smile. And then he felt it again. The same sensation in the same spot. That couldn’t be a coincidence. “No, I did. I definitely did.” He amended.
“That’s amazing.” Taehyung told him with a grin of his own. “I told you, didn’t I. What does it feel like?”
“I don’t know.” Jungkook told him, not sure how to explain it. “It’s hard to describe. Bubbly maybe? You know sometimes, when we’re waiting to go on stage and we can hear the crowd and then the music starts and the bass vibrates up through your feet and you feel it in
