Chapter Fourteen
He Wouldn'tJimin was worried. And he didn’t understand why no one else was.
Well the fans were he supposed as he scrolled through the comments on his latest social media post. It was a picture he’d taken of Hoseok running through the choreo backstage with Jin but barely anyone was commenting on the actual post. It was just comment after comment asking about Jungkook’s whereabouts, questioning his absence from promotions. The official story was what their manager had told the group a week ago, Jungkook was getting over a viral infection and was resting but the fans weren’t buying it and neither was Jimin. Because Jungkook was currently visiting his parents. In the middle of promotions. It just didn’t make sense. Why would the company give him time off in the middle of such a busy time if there wasn’t something seriously wrong?
And why was no one else in the group asking the same question? When it had first been announced that Jungkook would be spending a few days in Busan no one had shown the least bit of concern. Hoseok had seemed a little surprised and Taehyung had said something about wishing he could visit his family too but that was it. Namjoon had been the one to tell them so there’d been no surprise there and Yoongi had shrugged as if to say ‘okay, fair enough.’ Jimin had thought Jin might question it, ask if Jungkook was okay, he’d been acting like a mother hen around him for weeks now but he he’d seemed entirely unconcerned. But then maybe he knew more about what was wrong with Jungkook than the rest of the group did so he’d seen it coming.
He’d thought about asking Jin if he knew what was really wrong with Jungkook but in the end, he’d decided not to. If Jin knew and hadn’t said anything he’d obviously had orders form above to keep it to himself, so it would be pointless.
But maybe he thought, eyeing the phone still in his hand, maybe if he asked then Jungkook would tell him. He was in Busan right now, far away, and safe from any manager retaliation. And they’d always been close, him and Jungkook. If he called and asked him outright what was wrong, then he might say.
He’d brought Jungkook’s number up and was about to hit call when his phone was unceremoniously ripped from his hand.
