Paris, France - Part 3

 

Reunite

 

“Jessica?,” Yuri said in surprised tone. He couldn’t believe that the woman who was sitting next to him at the bench was his ex-wife.

 

“W-what are you doing here?,” she asked in curious.

 

“I'm on vacation with my family here,” he casually replied. “What about you?,” he asked.

 

“Same here. Sooyoung coincidentally attended a business meeting here, and we decided to extend our stay and bring the kids for a vacation,” she replied as she smiled.

 

“Oh, okay,” Yuri replied and the two then fell into silence.

 

“Erm.. Is Hani with you too?,” she carefully asked as she broke the silence.

 

“Yes. She’s riding Casey Jr. train over there,” Yuri replied while pointing at the main entrance of the game place.

 

“Ah, I see. With your parents?,” she asked. Yuri shook his head.

 

“With my girlfriend,” he replied in short.

 

“Oh, okay,” she said.

 

“How old is he?,” Yuri asked while looking at Jessica’s little boy inside the stroller.

 

“He just turned two. He’s still can’t speak well,” she replied as she smiled. Yuri nodded understandingly. “How about the eldest one?,” he asked.

 

“Daniella is four right now. She’s with Sooyoung. We forgot to bring Danny’s diapers, so I asked Sooyoung to buy diapers from convenience store,” she replied. “Ermm.. how’s Hani? She’s in her first year of kindergarten, right?,” she asked.

 

“Yeah. She’s doing well in school. She often got the first place in her class,” Yuri replied.

 

“She’s just like you. I’m glad she inherits your intelligence,” she said as she smiled.

 

“She studied hard to get the first place. I didn’t do anything. Thank God my mom is always there to help her when I’m not around,” Yuri said. Jessica felt guilty right after she knew about it.

 

“I’m.. I’m sorry,” she apologized.

 

“For what?,” Yuri asked, furrowing his brows.

 

“For not being a good mother to Hani,” she replied. Yuri could see there’s a hint of sadness in her eyes. It was his fault too. He was too angry with the divorced at that time, and for not letting Jessica to get her right to visit her daughter. He made the decision when he wasn’t in his right mind.

 

“It’s not like that, Sica. It’s my fault too. I didn’t let you to visit her after we were divorced although you have the right to do so. I’m sorry too,” Yuri replied.

 

“Can.. can I see her after this?,” Jessica asked with her eyes full of hope. Yuri nodded.

 

“She’s your daughter after all. Of course you can,” he replied.

 

“What about the court order?,” she asked in worried tone.

 

“I will ask my lawyer to withdraw the court order. You can see her at anytime you want from now on,” he replied.

 

“Thank you so much, Yuri!,” Jessica thanked him as she smiled happily.

 

“I do it for the sake of Hani. She deserves to be happy,” Yuri replied with a faint smile.

 

Not long after, they saw Sooyoung was walking hand-in-hand with Daniella while carrying a plastic bag in his left hand. He didn’t notice Yuri at first when he was approaching Jessica, but then Yuri’s presence causing his eyes widened in surprise.

 

“Yuri? What are you doing here?,” he asked as he handed the plastic bag to Jessica. He then extended his hand to shake hands with Yuri.

 

“I’m on vacation with my family here,” he replied while shook his hand with Sooyoung’s.

 

“What a coincidence, right? I think Jessica might have already told you the reason we are here too,” he said.

 

“Yeah. I’m here because of work too. Since it’s a school holiday in Korea, so I decided to bring my daughter for vacation,” Yuri replied.

 

“Hani? Where is she?,” Sooyoung asked.

 

“She’s riding Casey Jr. train over there,” Yuri replied.

 

“Daddy, can we go there? Daniella wants to go there too,” the little girl suddenly asked her father.

 

“No you can’t, sweetie. Your age and height is not fit to ride the train. We will try another ride which fits you, okay?,” Sooyoung said to his daughter.

 

“Okay,” the little girl obediently replied while nodding her head cutely.

 

“Sorry for that,” Sooyoung apologized as their conversation being cut by Daniella just now.

 

“Nah, it’s okay,” Yuri replied.

 

“Since you are here, how about we have a dinner together tonight? We can catching up with each other, and Jessica can meet Hani.. oppss.. I’m sorry! I forgot..,” Sooyoung was about to continue his words when suddenly Yuri cut him off.

 

“It’s okay, Sooyoung. I have already told Jessica that she can meet Hani anytime she wants starting from now on. I will withdraw the court order later,” Yuri said.

 

“Chincha?,” Sooyoung asked in disbelief. Yuri just nodded in reply. “Thank you, Yuri. Daniella and Danny can meet and play with their older sister later,” Sooyoung earnestly said.

 

“Yeah, sure,” Yuri replied as he smiled. Jessica couldn’t help but to smile when hearing their conversation. She's still couldn’t believe Yuri has changed ever since they got divorced two years ago.

 

“Alright. We have to go now. We need to change Danny’s diapers,” Sooyoung said as he took out his wallet from his pants pocket to take out his business card. “Here’s my number that you can contact. Just tell me whenever you are ready. The dinner is on me tonight,” Sooyoung said while handing the card to Yuri. Yuri took the card and read it.

 

“Yeah, sure do. I will send a text or call you later,” Yuri replied. Sooyoung and Jessica bid goodbye to Yuri before they left the bench.

 

“You’re so lucky, Hani ya. You got double happiness starting from now on. Daddy is so envy with you,” Yuri mumbles as he smiled while still watching Jessica and her family walking away until they slowly disappeared from his sight.

“You won’t believe me if I tell you,” Yuri whispered to Yoona. They were in a middle of having their lunch at the fast food restaurant in Disneyland.

 

“What is it?,” Yoona asked while furrowing her brows in curious.

 

“I met Jessica and her family here,” Yuri said. Yoona’s eyes widened in surprise.

 

“Chincha?,” she accidentally said it out loud, but luckily Hani didn’t notice on it as she was in her own world playing with Elsa soft toys while eating. She quickly cupped .

 

“While I was waiting for you two finished riding the train, suddenly I saw a woman was pushing a stroller walking towards the bench and sat next to me. We didn’t notice each other at first. I was shocked when I heard a familiar voice calling out my name, and to know that it was her. What a small world, isn’t it?,” Yuri replied. He then took his wallet from his backpack, and took out Sooyoung’s business card and showed it to Yoona.

 

“Sooyoung gave me his business card. He said he want us to have a dinner together tonight. He wants Hani to meet her half siblings,” Yuri said. Yoona took the card from Yuri’s hand and read the content.

 

“Oh, my God! I couldn’t believe this. But, what about the court order on Jessica?,” she asked.

 

“I told her that I will ask my lawyer to withdraw the court order. She can visit Hani anytime she wants. I think it’s about the time to give in for the sake of Hani’s happiness,” he replied as he smiled while staring at his daughter. Yoona patted on Yuri’s lap and smiled.

 

“You’re doing the right thing, Yuri. Hani deserves to be happy. Although Jessica already has another family, she’s still her mother, though. And, she should know her half siblings too,” Yoona said as she agreed with Yuri.

 

“Yeah, I know that. I have been thinking about it when I was dating with Krystal back then. But, since you’re with me right now, it makes easier for me to make a decision,” Yuri replied. Yoona furrowed her brows.

 

“What is it have to do with me?,” she asked. Yuri lean closer to her ear.

 

“Your love,” he whispered, causing the latter getting goosebumps.

 

“Aigoo.. Did you eat too much cheese just now?,” Yoona asked, causing Yuri chuckled on her words. “So, how are you going to explain to Hani about her mother wants to see her? Don’t you think that it is out of sudden?,” Yoona asked.

 

“I will tell her first, and when she’s ready to meet her mother and her half siblings then we will arrange it. It doesn’t mean that she have to see her tonight. She might need some time to understand and accept this sudden news,” Yuri replied.

 

“I agree on that,” Yoona said.

 

“Hani ya, don’t just play with Elsa. Finish your food, okay?,” Yuri said while caressing on Hani’s hair.

 

“Dae, daddy,” she obediently replied and put Elsa soft toys aside before eating her fries. Yuri smiled in content while watching his daughter eating. He has to admit that he felt a bit worried on how Hani will accept the fact that her mother is here, breathing the same air as hers in Paris.

“I will leave you two to have a talk,” Yoona said as she got up and was about to walk when Yuri grabbed her wrist. Yoona immediately looked at Yuri, giving him her questioning look.

 

“You don’t have to leave. It’s okay,” Yuri replied as he smiled and pulled Yoona’s hand, gesturing her to sit back.

 

“Arasso,” she said as she took a seat next to Yuri.

 

“Hani ya, come here, sit on daddy’s lap,” Yuri said to his little girl. Being an obedient child, Hani got up from her seat and sat on Yuri’s lap. Yuri started to caressing his back, and cleared his throat before he started to speak.

 

“Hani ya. Daddy want to ask you something,” he said. Hani nodded while waiting patiently for her father to ask the question.

 

“Do you still remember mommy?,” he asked as he carefully studied on his daughter’s face as to know her reaction.

 

“Yes, daddy. Hani still remember mommy,” she truthfully said. Although her parents got divorced when she was four years old, she’s still remember her mother’s face.

 

“Did you miss her?,” Yuri carefully asked. Hani just nodded in reply.

 

“If mommy is here, do you want to see her?,” he asked again. And just like earlier, Hani just nodded her head.

 

“Do you know that mommy have another child?,” Yuri asked. Hani just shook her head as she didn’t say any words, and it causing Yoona and Yuri felt a bit worried on her unusual act.

 

“Hani ya, baby. You can say whatever you want to say. If you mad at daddy, you can say it. If you mad at mommy, you can say it out too,” Yuri softly said while caressing her back.

 

“Hani is not mad at daddy and mommy. Hani understand. Halmeoni told Hani before, daddy and mommy are not together anymore, and mommy married to Uncle Sooyoung,” she replied.

 

“She knew everything,” Yoona thought while staring at the little girl in awe.

 

“Is that true? Halmeoni told Hani everything about daddy, mommy and her new family?,” Yuri asked her.

 

“Dae, daddy. When daddy is working, halmeoni always talked to Hani. She told Hani about mommy too,” the little girl replied.

 

“Do you know that after mommy and daddy are not together, daddy forbids mommy to visit you?,” Yuri asked. Hani nodded.

 

“Halmeoni said daddy was angry with mommy, and daddy don’t want mommy to see Hani,” Hani replied. Yuri felt so guilty towards his daughter, he then hugged her and cried.

 

“Mianhae, Hani ya. Daddy shouldn’t do that to Hani. Although daddy was mad at mommy, but daddy shouldn’t forbid mommy to see Hani. You’re her daughter too,” he said in between his sobbing. Yoona couldn’t hold her emotion as tears drop on her cheeks, and she quickly wiped it.

 

“It’s okay, daddy. Hani loves daddy and mommy. Hani is not mad at daddy,” the little girl said while rubbing on Yuri’s back, trying to soothe him. Yuri then pulled off the hug, and kissed on his daughter’s cheek.

 

“Daddy and mommy love you, you know that, right?,” he said. Hani nodded while caressing Yuri’s face. “Mommy is here. She wants to see you. Do you want to see her?,” he asked.

 

“Chincha? Mommy’s here?,” she replied. Yuri nodded and smiled. “Can Hani see mommy, daddy?,” she asked.

 

“Of course you can, baby. Mommy was the one who wants to see you. She want to introduce you to your little sister and brother,” he replied.

 

“Hani has a little sister and brother. Hani is not alone. Hani have siblings! Hani can tell friends Hani have siblings too!,” she excitedly said. Yuri and Yoona chuckled on her words. Her school friends really influenced her a lot.

 

“Yes, baby. You can tell your friends that you have siblings, and two mommys. You are a rich girl, you know,” he said as he grinned.

 

“Ya!,” Yoona exclaimed as her hand quickly smacked on Yuri’s arm. He just laughed at Yoona’s act.

 

“Can Hani call imo mommy too?,” Hani asked while looking at Yoona. The latter was taken aback with her sudden question. She then glanced at Yuri, and he just shrugged his shoulder. After all, it depend on her whether she want it or not. Yoona eventually smiled and nodded.

 

“Yeayy! Hani have two mommys!,” she excitedly said.

 

“Aigoo.. Look at this excited little girl! Alright. Let’s go back to the hotel now. We can get ready to have dinner with mommy and your siblings,” Yuri replied. He then piggyback Hani as the little girl said she felt tired and sleepy, and they left the restaurant, heading to the parking lot.

Yuri has called Sooyoung, informing that they agreed to have dinner together. Sooyoung was more than delighted to know about it, and he immediately made a dinner reservation at one of the famous family restaurants in Paris.

 

“Are you happy to see mommy, baby?,” Yuri asked while glancing at Hani who was sitting at the backseat of the car. They were heading towards the restaurant. Sooyoung sent Yuri the GPS location of the restaurant, and they found out that it’s not far from their hotel, only fifteen minutes of driving.

 

“Yes, daddy. Hani can’t wait to see mommy and Hani’s little sister and brother,” Hani said as she smiled happily. He felt touched and relieved at the same time after listening to Hani's answer.

 

“Your little sister and brother are cute just like you, baby. It’s just that you are exactly my carbon copy,” Yuri said as he chuckled.

 

“What is carbon copy, daddy?,” Hani curiously asked.

 

“It means that, you looked exactly like daddy. You have sharp nose like daddy, your hair volume, and your height. It’s just that your sleeping habit really inherited from your mommy,” Yuri replied.

 

“Oh, that means, Hani is daddy’s girl, right?,” Hani asked. Yoona and Yuri chuckled on her words.

 

“Of course you are, baby. You are daddy and mommy Yoona’s girl,” Yuri replied while glancing at Yoona. The latter’s hand quickly slapped on his thigh while glaring at Yuri, causing Yuri chuckled once again.

Meanwhile, inside the restaurant

 

“Oh, God! I’m so nervous,” Jessica said while her eyes keep on glancing at the restaurant’s door. The Jung-Choi family arrived early as their hotel was just nearby the restaurant.

 

“Just relax, babe. I’m sure Hani is eagerly want to meet you too. She won’t mad at you,” Sooyoung said. He was sitting next to Daniella who was in her own little world playing with her Elsa soft toys. Surprisingly, Daniella likes Elsa too, just like her elder sister.

 

“I hope she will like the clothes and toys I bought for her. Yuri said she likes Elsa so much, just like Daniella,” she replied.

 

“Yeah. I think Daniella will clique with her big sister as they shared the same interest,” Sooyoung said in while nodded in agreement. He then glanced at little Danny who was in a deep sleep inside the stroller. The two were still chatting when they suddenly saw Yuri was entering the restaurant with a beautiful doe-eyed woman who was holding Hani’s hand. She bite her lips as she tried to hold her emotion the moment she saw Hani.

 

“Yuri ah, over here!,” Sooyoung called him while waving his hand at the latter. Yuri immediately turned to look on where Sooyoung was, and after he saw him he then lead Yoona and Hani walking towards the table.

 

“Thank you for coming,” Sooyoung said as he extended his hand to shake hands with Yuri.

 

“You’re welcome,” he replied while shook his hand with Sooyoung’s. He then glanced at Jessica and when she noticed it, the two bowed a little while smiled to each other.

 

“Please have a seat,” Sooyoung said. Yuri thanked him and pulled a chair for Yoona and Hani to sit. Hani was sitting next to Daniella, while he and Yoona sat next to each other.

 

“This is Im Yoona, my girlfriend. She’s a restaurateur, and also a celebrity chef in Korea,” he said as he introduced Yoona to them.

 

“Nice to meet you, Miss Im,” Sooyoung and Jessica said greeted her.

 

“Just call me Yoona,” she replied.

 

“Ah, okay,” Sooyoung said.

 

“Hani ya, don’t you want to introduce yourself?,” Yuri said to the little girl. Hani quickly got up from her seat and bowed before she started to speak.

 

“Annyeong haseyo! Hello! My name is Jennifer Kwon Hani. I’m six years old and I’m studying at Mido Kindergarten in Korea,” she introduced herself.

 

“Hani ya, come here,” Jessica said as she got up from her seat and opened her arms. Hani then quickly walking towards her and when she was so near to her, Jessica immediately squatted down to hug her eldest child while crying. Hani couldn’t help but to cry too as tears drop on her cheeks.

 

“Mommy miss you so much, sweetie,” she said in between her sobbings. She pulled the hug and stared at her daughter whom she missed so much. She then leaned closer and kissed Hani’s cheeks repeatedly while wiping her tears.

 

“Hani miss mommy too,” the little girl said. Jessica cried again while hugging her daughter. Sooyoung and Yuri holding their breath as they felt heavy-hearted watching a heartbreaking encounter between a mother and a daughter. While Yoona keep on wiping the tears on her cheeks as she felt sad and happy and the same time.

 

Daniella who was also watching the two then patted on her father’s lap.

 

“Daddy, why mommy cry?,” the little girl curiously asked. Sooyoung caressed her hair and smiled.

 

“Mommy cried because she missed your older sister. That’s your older sister, sweetie,” Sooyoung replied.

 

“Sweetie, come here,” Jessica called Daniella to come towards her. The little girl slowly got up from her seat, and walked towards her mother.

 

“Sweetie, this is your older sister, Hani unnie. Say hello to Hani unnie,” she said to her.

 

“Annyeong haseyo, Hani unnie,” Daniella put her tiny hands on her stomach and bowed towards Hani. The adults were smiling on how adorable she looks.

 

“Annyeong haseyo. What’s your name?,” Hani replied and asked the little girl.

 

“My name is Daniella Choi Jiyoo. I’m four years old,” Daniella said while cutely showing her four fingers to Hani.

 

“Daniella, do you like Elsa?,” she asked her half sister while glancing at Elsa’s soft toys on the table..

 

“Daniella likes Elsa, unnie. Sooo much!,” the little girl excitedly said while expressing it with her both tiny hands. The adults chuckled on Daniella's cute act.

 

“Unnie likes Elsa too. Let’s play together later, okay?,” Hani replied as she holds the little girl’s hand and walking towards their mother. Jessica squatted down and hugged both of her daughters. She kissed them on their cheeks.

 

“Mommy loves you two, baby,” she said. The others couldn’t help but to smile while watching them.

 

“Do you want to see your little brother, Danny?,” Jessica asked Hani. The little girl just nodded. Jessica then sat next to stroller and gestured Hani to come near. Hani who was still holding Daniella’s hand walked closer and looked inside the stroller.

 

“His name is Daniel Choi Jinsoo. He just turned two,” Jessica said.

 

“He’s so cute, mommy,” Hani replied while staring at her little brother. Danny was still in a deep sleep after drinking his milk before they arrived at the restaurant.

 

“When he wake up later, you can play with him, okay?,” Jessica said. Hani nodded understandingly.

 

“Alright. Shall we make our order now?,” Sooyoung asked while looking at Yuri.

 

“Yeah, sure do,” he replied. Sooyoung then called the waiter, and they took turn in making their order. Hani and Daniella wanting to eat the same menu which is spaghetti carbonara, while the adults ordered different set of steak.

 

“And we would like to have a white champagne, that’s all,” Sooyoung added. The waiter nodded and collect the menu back before he excused himself to the kitchen.

 

“So, how long have you been here?,” Sooyoung asked Yuri.

 

“We just arrived on yesterday, and plan to spend about a week here. We are actually having our one month vacation on selected Europe countries. Yoona was on her vacation, and she wants me and Hani to join her,” Yuri replied while glancing at Yoona. The latter nodded in agreement.

 

“Chincha? Wow! That’s interesting. I’m so envy of you. I wish I could have a long break with my family like you,” Sooyoung replied.

 

“When are you two planning to get married?,” Jessica sudden question made Yoona and Yuri widened their as they were surprised.

 

“We are not planning anything yet on that. Yoona is quite busy nowadays, and she just got her free time to have her vacation. Besides, we're just together, so I think it's a bit too early,” Yuri replied. “Why do I sound like a spokesperson to Yoona?,” he thought. Jessica just nodded her head.

 

“Just enjoy your time while you still can,” Sooyoung said, earning a slap from Jessica. “Y-ya, what’s wrong?,” he asked.

 

“Sounds like you’re tired on dragging us three with you,” she replied while glaring at him.

 

“I don’t mean it like that, though. I just want to say that just enjoy their bachelor time before getting married. That’s all,” he said. Yuri and Yoona just smiled at their small bickering.

 

“Daddy, mommy, don’t fight, pleashh..,” Daniella said to her parents. The adults burst out into laughing at her cute words.

 

“Daddy and mommy are not fighting, sweetie. We are just exchanging our opinion,” Sooyoung replied.

 

“So much on exchanging your opinion,” Jessica mumbled, but loud enough for the rest to hear.

 

“You never change, Sica. Always wanted to argue over small things,” Yuri said as he chuckled.

 

“I agree on that,” Sooyoung seconded Yuri’s opinion.

 

“Ya, ya! Are you two team up together now? Yoona ssi, why don’t you join my team to beat these gentlemen?,” Jessica said, but they knew she’s just joking.

 

“Later, Jessica ssi. After we getting married, then I can join your club,” she jokingly said, causing the rest laughed at her words.

 

“I don’t think we will win against them, though,” Sooyoung said with a chuckle. While the adults were busy chatting, Hani and Daniella were in their own world playing with their respective Elsa soft toys.
