The Day

 

At the beauty salon

 

“Stay calm, Yul ah,” Sunny said to Yuri who looked rather nervous as his face being touched up by the stylist. She was applying a light smokey eye makeup to him.

 

“Who doesn’t, Sunny ah? This is the first time in my life, I'm having a makeup in my face. I feel so weird,” he replied. Sunny just chuckled.

 

“It’s just for our tonight’s mission, Yul ah. You're not going to wear it forever like a woman,” she said.

 

“Yeah, I know. This is all because of that Im Yoona. If I don’t think her as our boss, I’m not willing to do this at all, you know,” he replied.

 

“We can’t say anything, Yul. Let’s think that we do this as for a help. A help for a friend,” she said.

 

“I would rather not to have a friend like her at all. This is going to be insane, you know,” he replied. Sunny just chuckled. A few minutes later, Yuri’s makeup has already done.

 

“Wow! You look fierce but handsome,” Sunny compliments him.

 

“Chincha? I don’t know how to feel, Sunny ah. Because this is the first time I’m wearing it,” he replied.

 

“Don’t worry, Yul. I’m sure all Beijing girls at the club will have their eyes on you,” she said teasingly.

 

“Aishh.. I just want this mission to end quick,” he replied. Sunny smiled and nodded in agreement.

 

“Me too. I have lot of works waiting in Seoul, but then I have to be here for her personal matter. But, honestly it feels like a small vacation with a mission to me. It’s been a long time I didn’t go for a vacation. Last time I went to Bali with Hyomin, and that was on last year. Hyomin coincidentally attending a course there, so, he asked me to accompany him,” she replied.

 

“Oh, I see,” Yuri nodded. “Ermm.. speaking of her, is she still not done with her hair yet? It’s already 8.30 p.m. We need at least to be there before 9.00 p.m. to secure our table,” he said.

 

“Don’t worry, Yul ah. Mr. Chao has already booked a table for us. That will be four tables away from Xiao’s. I heard he booked for four persons. Let’s see with whom he will be going to spend his night to party. It’s going to be fun!,” Sunny replied while clapping her hands excitedly.

 

“I hope she will not cause any unwanted scene there. You know, Xiao and her are celebrities, it will going to be the main headlines in their media later,” he said as he feel worried.

 

“I still have a sane mind, though,” suddenly a familiar voice being heard, causing the two startled.

 

“Kkamcchagiya! Aishh.. This girl!,” Sunny exclaimed while patting her chest as she was surprised by her sudden appearance. But then she eventually smiled when looking at the latter.

 

“Wow! You really look like a sophisticated city girl who’s ready for party tonight,” Sunny said while admiring Yoona’s new appearance. It’s totally 360 degrees different with her usual appearance.

 

“Well, well, well. Look at you too. My partner in crime!,” Yoona said while laughing. Sunny suddenly spun around while showing off her new look and attire.

 

“How do I look?,” she asked. Yoona looked at her manager from head to toe, and she gave her thumbs up.

 

“If Hyomin oppa saw you like this right now, I’m sure he will take an early flight to Beijing to take you home,” she teasingly said, causing the other girl cracking up.

 

“Keep your dirty thought in mind, Yoong,” she said.

 

Yoona then shifted her gaze at Yuri who was sitting at the settee with his new attire and smokey eye makeup. She wanted to laugh at him, but then she found that his new look very attractive, and it really suits him. He looks like a rich heirs who is ready to swing the girls heart at the party. Indeed, in reality he is a rich heirs.

 

“What are you looking at?,” Yuri said once he noticed Yoona’s eyes were on him.

 

“You look a bit scary, but it’s okay. You can scare those guys who will try to get near to us later,” she casually said.

 

“I’m not your father, though,” he nonchalantly replied, causing Sunny cracking up. Yoona couldn’t help but to smile on his words.

 

“Oh my God! Stop it you two! You guys will ruin my makeup later,” she as she stopped laughing.

 

KNOCK! KNOCK!

 

“Excuse me? Miss Im, Miss Lee and Mr. Kwon, are you guys ready? Shall we go now?,” Mr. Chao suddenly appeared at the doorstep of the salon.

 

“Yeah, we are ready, Mr. Chao,” Yoona said.

 

“Alright. Let’s get to the car,” he replied as he lead the trio to outside. The trio thanked and bowed to the stylist before they left the salon.

At Babyface club

 

The clubgoers were already queuing to enter the club as the trio and Mr. Chao arrived. After he talked to the security staff, the trio have been given the permission to enter the club through VIP’s door.

 

“Alright, we are just sitting here while waiting for that jerk to come. Do you guys want to order anything?,” Yoona asked.

 

“I want a glass of beer. Suddenly I feel thirsty”, Sunny said.

 

“Me same as hers,” Yuri replied while pointing at Sunny.

 

“Arasso. Ermm.. how about you, Mr. Chao?,” Yoona asked.

 

“It’s okay, Miss Im. I’m on duty, so I don’t drink,” Mr. Chao replied.

 

“Alright. Yuri, call the waiter now,” Yoona said while glancing at the latter. Yuri raised his brows in surprised.

 

“Huh? Why me? You are the one who wants to order for us. You should call them, though,” he said in annoyed tone.

 

“Just call them, you ‘Mr. Too Much Complaints’,” Yoona ordered. Sunny and Mr. Chao just chuckled on their childish antics.

 

“Aishh..,” he grunted, but still following his boss’s order by waving his hand to call the waitress. The waitress then immediately came to their table.

 

“Can I take your order?,” the girl asked as she smiled.

 

“Yeah, sure. Two glass of beers, and one Classic Margarita,” he said. The waitress quickly jotted down the orders. She glanced at Yuri once again and smiled as she immediately left the table. Sunny who noticed on the waitress act suddenly grinned.

 

“You have a fan already, Yul ah,” Sunny said teasingly. Yuri raised his brows while looking at the latter as he couldn’t get with what Sunny had said just now. She then pointed at the waitress who was walking downstairs, heading to the bar. His mouth made an ‘o’ shape while nodding his head understandingly. Yoona who was only listening to them since then just rolled her eyes annoyingly.

 

While waiting for their drinks to be served, their eyes wandering around the area, as well as the dancing floor downstairs where the clubgoers started to fill the area. Mr. Chao keep on communicating with his informer.

 

“They said they saw Mr. Xiao’s car at the parking space. He will use the same VIP door to enter this area,” he informed.

 

“Did they see how many persons went out of the car?,” Yoona asked impatiently.

 

“Only him. I think he will meet his acquaintances in here,” Mr. Chao replied.

 

“I can’t wait for him to come. He will be surprised, no, probably shock to death to see me here,” Yoona said as she smirked.

 

“Don’t act alone, Yoong. Let him sitting at his table first. Then we will see what is he going to do next,” Sunny suggested.

 

“Ara, ara. I know that, though,” she replied as she rolled her eyes.

 

“Alright, he’s on the way here,” Mr. Chao informed.

 

Yoona and Sunny looked at each other, and they couldn’t help but to feel nervous. They then saw Xiao was entering the area, and heading towards the table which has been reserved for him. Right after he sat down, there were two girls out of nowhere came to his table, and sat next to him. Both girls wearing a y short dress, and they then kissed on Xiao’s cheek. The three of them simultaneously looked at Yoona, and they could see a visible smoke coming out of her nose, like an angry dragon. Her face suddenly turned red, indicating that she’s in anger. She was about to get up, but Sunny immediately pulled her arm, shook her head.

 

“Calm down, Miss Im. Let’s wait for the right time,” Mr. Chao said.

 

“That son of ! I will kill you, Xiao!,” she mumbled in anger. Sunny patted on her back, tried to calm her friend down.

 

Yuri then suddenly got an idea, and he immediately got up and walked towards Mr. Chao. He leaned closer to his ear and talked to him about his idea, and Mr. Chao nodded. Yuri then quickly left the table, and walked downstairs heading to the bar. After successfully borrowing a pen an a small notebook, he then coolly went to Xiao’s table. Yoona and Sunny was surprised to see on Yuri’s sudden act.

 

“What is he doing there?,” Yoona asked Mr. Chao.

 

“Getting an info, Miss Im. He will pretend that he’s a Korean reporter who happened to visit here. He will have an impromptu interview with Mr. Xiao,” he replied.

 

Xiao were busy chatting with the two girls, and Yuri purposely cleared his throat, and it managed to catch their attention.

 

“Mr. Xiao! Hi! Nice to meet you here!,” Yuri cheerfully greeted. Xiao furrowed his brows while looking at Yuri.

 

“Do I know you?,” he asked. Yuri then extended his hand to shake hands with the latter. Xiao just shook his hand with his.

 

“I’m Kwon Yuri, a reporter from Seoul Daily. I on a visit here in Beijing, and a friend recommend me to come to this place to chill. Coincidentally I meet you here. You’re quite famous in Korea, you know?,” he replied.

 

“Really?,” he asked while furrowing his brows.

 

“Yes, you are, Mr. Xiao. You’re Miss Im Yoona’s boyfriend, a well-known celebrity chef in Korea, right?,” Yuri replied. Xiao became perplexed for a while. The two girls who were sitting close to him then immediately distance themselves from him right after they heard Yuri mentioned about Yoona.

 

“Am I right, Mr. Xiao?,” Yuri asked. Xiao who looked like a lost child then slowly nodded his head.

 

“Err.. y-yeah,” he replied. Yuri then looked at the two girls and smiled.

 

“Who are these girls? Your friend?,” Yuri asked. The two girls looked nervous while glancing at Xiao.

 

“Y-yeah. They are my friends,” Xiao replied as his voice stuttered.

 

“Oh yeah? Let’s dig in deeper, Yuri,” he thought.

 

“Can I be your friend for tonight? I’m alone here. And, I can do some short interview with you,” Yuri said while fished out a pen and a small notebook from his jacket pocket.

 

“N-no you can’t! I have booked them, I-I mean, they need to go home early, so, we just have limited time to spend here,” Xiao replied nervously.

 

“Bingo!,” Yuri thought.

 

“Oh, really. It’s so sad then,” he said as he got up from the seat. “Anyway, it’s nice to meet you here, Mr. Xiao,” Yuri extended his hand once again and shook hands with the latter. He then walked in a few steps, and then stopped in a middle, and turning his heels and walked towards Xiao. He then leaned closer his ears.

 

“By the way, I know Miss Im well. I’m his friend. Just be careful, Mr. Xiao. Who knows, Miss Im might appeared here at anytime,” he said. He then coolly walked away from the latter’s table, heading back to the bar to return the pen and notebook he borrowed earlier. He then secretly went back to the table where the others were sitting.

 

“So, did you get the info?,” Yoona asked impatiently.

 

“He booked the girls. He accidentally spilled it, and I asked the staff here whether they knew about this booking girls thing, they said normally they booked through agent. So, Xiao might already contacted the agent himself, and setting the place where he will meet those girls,” Yuri replied.

 

“Damn, Xiao! What else is not enough, huh? I thought when we are away from each other, I can put my trust on him. But today, he crushed it just like that,” she said frustratingly. The others felt sympathy on her. Yoona then took a deep breath, and suddenly got up from her seat. She suddenly grabbed Yuri’s arm, causing the latter being forcefully getting up, and dumbfounded.

 

“Let’s teach him a lesson,” she said. She then dragged Yuri to walk towards where Xiao’s table was located. Mr. Chao was about to stop her, but then Sunny stopping him from doing so. She knew Yoona will handle the situation maturely.

 

“Miss Im, please don’t cause any scene here, okay?,” Yuri mumbled to her worriedly.

 

“Just shut up, Kwon Yuri. I know what I am doing. Just act like we are close,” she mumbled to him back. Yuri didn’t reply as he just surrendered to his fate for what will happen next.

 

“Oh God! Please save me!,” he secretly prayed. The duo then walking passed Xiao’s table. While Xiao and the girls were in oblivious as they were busy chatting and Xiao was busy touching the girls here and there, Yoona and Yuri walking backwards and stopped at their table.

 

“Oh, Hi! Xiao! What a small world! We coincidentally get to meet here!,” Yoona cheerfully greeted him. Xiao’s eyes widened in surprise like was about to pop out from its socket, and quickly pushing the two girls away from him. The girls groaned as their face scrunched in pain.

 

“Y-Yoona? W-what are you doing here?,” he stuttered nervously. His face was pale like he was seeing a ghost.

 

“I’m on my visit here with my friend, Yuri. You met him just now, right?,” Yoona coolly replied.

 

“Y-Yuri? Yeah, I met him earlier. B-but, why are you here?,” he asked. Yoona scoffed before she could answer.

 

“Why I can’t be here? I want to enjoy my night with Yuri here, just like you,” she casually replied.

 

“B-but..,” Xiao was about to further his words when suddenly Yoona cut him off.

 

“Let’s go, Yuri! Let’s have our fun time!,” Yoona cheered while basically dragging his poor bodyguard to the dance floor downstairs. Xiao was left dumbfounded, and causing Yoona smiling in satisfaction.

 

“Aishh.. It’s been a long time since the last time I went to the club,” Yuri said. He felt awkward as he didn’t dance for so long. Yoona just dancing along to the music, while Yuri just doing his kkab dance. Yoona laughed at his funny dance move, causing the latter felt embarrassed. She then noticed Xiao was watching her and Yuri from the VIP area.

 

“Yuri, come her and hug me, quick!,” Yoona pulled Yuri’s hand and brought him closer to her. Yuri was dumbfounded at first, but then when Yoona signaling him through her eyes, he then just followed suit. The two were hugging each other while dancing randomly. Yuri could see from the corner of his eyes that Xiao was still watching them, and he looked like in anger. Yoona turned her body around and she could see Xiao’s reaction. She smiled again.

 

“Now, kiss me,” she ordered. Yuri’s eyes widened in surprise.

 

“Mworago?,” he exclaimed.

 

“Aishh.. This dumb!,” Yoona grunted and immediately grabbed Yuri’s backhead, and then pressed her lips against his. Yuri was shocked at her sudden brave act, but then when he thought that they were just acting, he finally relented and played along. He pressed his lips against hers, causing Yoona startled and slightly agape. Yuri took this opportunity to just kiss her, and like being spellbound, the two eventually fallen into a deep kiss. The two then broke the kiss and pulled off the hug when they felt they were out of the breath.

 

“I-I’m sorry,” Yuri apologized. He have to admit that his heart was racing while they were kissing.

 

“Nah, it’s okay. We are just acting, right?,” Yoona replied as she acted nonchalantly. But, deep down in her heart, she felt her heart was racing too. Yuri then glanced at the VIP area, and he couldn’t see Xiao anymore.

 

“I think he’s already gone,” Yuri told her. Yoona quickly turned her head towards the VIP area.

 

“Let’s go back to our table,” Yoona said. Yuri just followed her suit, and the two successfully releasing themselves from the crowd of the dancing floor.

 

“Hey, how was that? Are you two having fun down there?,” Sunny teasingly asked.

 

“Ya! We just do our work, though!,” Yuri snapped while glancing at Yoona. The latter then looked at the Xiao’s table, but he and the girls were not there anymore.

 

“Where’s Xiao and those es?,” Yoona asked.

 

“After he saw you two were dancing and ‘kissing’, he went back to his table in anger, and dragged the two girls out of here,” Sunny replied.

 

“According to the staff I met earlier, he usually brought the girls back after spent their time here,” Mr. Chiao added, causing Yoona gritted her teeth, holding her anger.

 

“Sunny, let’s go back on tomorrow. I want you to arrange a press conference, and tell the reporter that me and Xiao are finished!,” she exclaimed in anger.

 

“Are you sure about that, Yoong?,” Sunny asked in worried tone. The latter just nodded. “Arasso, I will ask Hyomin to arrange the press conference later. Let’s go back to the hotel now,” Sunny said.

 

“No! Yuri, go and order four bottles of beer. I want to drink here. Mr. Chao, thank you for your help. I will ask my staff to transfer the money to your account for the last payment on tomorrow. You can go back first,” Yoona said.

 

“Alright, Miss Im,” Mr. Chao replied. He then got up from his seat, and bowed to Yoona. He shook his hand with Yuri and Sunny before he bid goodbye to them.

 

“Yoong, let’s go back to the hotel first. We can buy the beers at the convenience store, and let’s drink at our room,” Sunny persuades her. She doesn’t want Yoona to cause an unwanted scene when she drunk later. Yoona sighed, and finally relented.

 

“Arasso. Yuri, go get a taxi,” Yoona said as she ordered.

 

“Okay,” Yuri replied, and he headed out from the club first to get a taxi.

“WHYYYYYY?,”

 

Yoona was wailing for the umpteenth time while drinking the sixth bottle of the beer. She was drunk, and Sunny patiently calming her devastated friend down, although she couldn’t help herself to feel tired and annoyed at the same time.

 

“Yoong ah, let’s get some sleep, okay? We need to catch a flight on tomorrow’s morning. Let’s sort this things out when we arrived at Seoul later, how about that?,” Sunny tried to soothe her with the same words for the umpteenth time. Although she felt tired, she needs to be with her when she was in her hard time. Yoona slowly nodded her head like a small child who listened to her mother’s words.

 

“Good. Let’s put this away, and go to bed, okay?,” Sunny said as she slowly grabbed the beer bottle from Yoona’s grip. Yoona just nodded childishly, and loosen her grip on the bottle. Sunny then took the bottle and threw it into the dustbin, and she put her best friend into sleep. She caressed her hair lovingly, and kissed the latter’s forehead.

 

“Have a good rest, Yoong. I’m sure tomorrow will be a better day for you,” she mumbled sympathetically and lie her tired body next to her best friend. She then slowly drifted off to sleep.

“Yes, sweetie. Daddy will go straight home from the airport on tomorrow. No, no, just stay at home. Just play with DooE at the backyard. You’re still in recovering process, baby. Listen to halmeoni, arasso? Daddy loves you. Muahh!,” Yuri ended his phone conversation with his beloved daughter. He missed her so much, and couldn’t wait to see the naughty little munchkin of his.

 

He put his phone on the bedside table, and switched off the lamp. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep, but then he just tossed and turned, and the scene of him and Yoona kissing at the club just now was coming back into his mind. He didn’t want to think about that again, but he still could feel her soft lips on his, and he was so engrossed with the kiss until he forgot that she was his boss, and he was her bodyguard. The kiss has made him forgot about their boundaries.

 

“Aishh.. She’s just using you, Kwon Yuri. Don’t be a pabo,” he mumbled. He then felt sympathy on her because she finally found out that her lover cheated on her in front of her eyes. He knew how it hurts because of his past experience.

 

“I hope you will find the right guy who will love you wholeheartedly, Im Yoona,” he thought. Not long after, he slowly drifted off to sleep.
