The sound of her phone ringing and vibrating abrasively from somewhere nearby snatched sleep from Ellie’s grasp in a way that made her heart pound in her chest in alarm. Immediately she snatched her phone off of her nightstand and pressed whatever button she could reach to silence it, forcing her blurry eyes to focus on the illuminated screen. She frowned at the sight of Jae’s face grimacing back at her from the phone, before focusing what little attention she had managed to muster up on the time; it was only just after eight in the morning. After a moment she answered the call, closing her eyes again as she placed her phone against her ear.   “Hello?”   “Good, you’re up.” The sound of his voice, completely awake and alert, confirmed that it was indeed him on the phone, and not someone else playing some kind of stupid joke.   “Jaehyung, have you lost your mind?” she demanded, frowning into the darkness behind her eyelids. There was a pause on the line.   “…Am I in trouble?”   “It’s eight in the morning on a Sunday!” Ellie exclaimed.   “So you weren’t up?”   “No!”   “Then why did you answer?”   “You nearly gave me a heart attack!” She was fully awake now; she sighed, opening her eyes. “What do you want, Jae?”   “Nothing, if you’re not up…”   “Jae.”   “Alright, alright,” Jae relented. “I wanted to know if you were free today.”   “For what?”   “To do stuff,” he answered vaguely. “Are you free? Say yes.”   “Well, yeah, I guess I am…”   “Good, so get up,” Jae concluded promptly. “I’ll be there in an hour.”   “An hour?!” Instead of responding Jae hung up, leaving Ellie alone with her phone once more. For a while she laid there out of pure stubbornness, until she began to feel sleep creeping back up on her; she reminded herself that Jae now knew which House she lived in; even if he didn’t, there would be no stopping him once he stepped foot on campus.   She forced herself up and grabbed hygiene necessities before heading down the hall to the bathrooms to clean herself up. The more she woke up, the more excited she became about the idea of seeing Jae again; by the end of her shower she was hurrying through her routine, eager to get back to her room to pick out an outfit. In an hour’s time she was successfully dressed and ready, in jeans and a tank top under a flowing, sleeveless cardigan, her hair in its usual flat twists but her ears and neck adorned with a favorite necklace and a multitude of earrings. For a moment she considered makeup but decided against it. She didn’t know what kind of plans Jae had up his sleeve – for all she knew they would end up scuba diving. She could only hope another opportunity would present itself in the future; besides, her hour was already up.   Her phone was ringing when she finished getting ready; she grabbed it along with her bag and key, answering the call as she walked out of her room.   “I’m leaving my room now,” she said as a greeting, putting her bag on her shoulder as she walked out of the door.   “Are you on the first or second floor?” Jae questioned, causing her to frown slightly.   “The second…” she answered slowly, heading down the stairs. “Why?”   “Ah, I’ll just wait here, then.”   “Wait where?” He didn’t answer, instead choosing to hang up, but she didn’t have to wait long to find out where “here” was. As she reached the first floor she found him reclining in one of the couches in the great hall, a pair of dark sunglasses over his eyes and his face turned slightly up to the ceiling, as if he were sunbathing. He noticed her as she walked over to him, and their height difference shot up as he rose from his seat.   “Well don’t you look gorgeous,” he commented, a smile pulling at his lips as he looked at her.   “Don’t try buttering me up,” Ellie countered, placing one hand on her hip and pointing at him with the other. “I’m still mad at you for waking me up.” After a moment he reached up and flipped up the lenses of his sunglasses, revealing them to be connected to a different pair of his actu
