Shards of UsHana slept quite soundly in a house that wasn't familiar to her. She slowly adjusted herself to lay comfortably in the guest room of Jongin’s house. She surely felt more refreshed than the previous night, in fact, she felt better than in the past years. She couldn't remember the last time she had felt the clouds. She lifted her hands in the air feeling the warmness of the sunlight bathe the back of her hands. She examined the damage once again as her back pressed into the softness of the bed. Her hands were poorly bandaged and it had started to bleed through again, but it would manage until she got home.
She tossed herself so her face planted into the fluffiness of her pillow, but the sudden scent sent her on her way to find the nearest bathroom. Lately, her nose had been weird. It seemed to have been smelling a lot better; picking up the slightest of smells.
“You're finally awake. I made breakfast,” Jongin’s voice disrupted her retching as if privacy didn't exist in his dictionary. He handed her a towel as she finished up. “You know, if I were to guess, I'd think you’re pregnant,” he nonchalantly said.
She stopped cleaning herself as she stared at him through the mirror. Her eyes furrowed in anger. “Pregnancy isn't something to joke about, Jongin. And, next time do you mind?” she scowled.
He only returned her scowl with a smile. “I was just thinking,” he put his hands up in surrender, quickly turning it into a shrug as he pushed himself off the door frame. “Hurry, breakfast is getting cold.”
She continued to watch Jongin leave the room through the mirror. Her hand unconsciously clutched her stomach as she stared at her own reflection. A wave of nostalgia hit her, but the thoughts quickly disappeared as she noticed the girl in the mirror. She could barely recognize herself anymore as if the dark circles under her eyes were controlling her life. She looked pitiful and hopeless.
“Was it really worth it?” her voice barely above a whisper.
“Hurry, Hana!” Jongin shouted from below.
“I'm coming,” she responded. She should be thankful, but the man nagged like a mother. She shook her head and let a little laugh escape. She the faucet and splashed the cold water on her face washing away any open thoughts and the anger that she piled on herself.
“Your breakfast is cold,” Jongin scolded her as she took the last step off the stairwell. He looked at her and then directed his eyes to where her seat was.
It was like she was his marionette or maybe it was just the fact that she wasn't in the mood to argue that she just simply sat in the seat and started to poke around the plate in front of her. The food was surprisingly warmer than Jongin's exaggeration.
“Want to talk?” Jongin broke the silence. He sat across from her as he finished up his plate. He glanced up after receiving no answer. “Ok...how about explaining to me what happened last night? Why you came here looking like that or the fact that you were crying so hard I almost couldn't handle you myself.”
She poked around the food some more as she let him talk. The more questions he asked, the more she lost her appetite. She wasn't sure if she really wanted to answer his questions, instead, Hana was lost in her own thoughts.
“Well?” Jongin asked as he looked at her. His eyes widened and his eyebrows rose as he anticipated for her to keep his conversation going.
“Where did I go wrong?” she questioned him instead. Hana set her silverware aside as she looked up to meet his eyes.
“You didn't marry Sehun,” he jokingly said, but his joke was returned with a grimace. “I was only trying to lighten up the mood.”
“Was it because I was so desperate to see someone else happy? He always wanted that seat. Sehun had hurt me and I wanted to just do the same back, so I thought that maybe if Baekhyun was happy…” The tears brimmed her eyes and the stuffy feeling from last night took over.
“You two could live happily ever after and Sehun would be sulking in pain?” he finished for her. “Hana, you forgot about a man’s pride. Remember the cup of tea. You're still dr
