Shards of Us“Why don’t you just strip there?”
His sudden words caught her attention. They haven’t even been together for five minutes, and already this. The wedding reception was finally over, and Hana honestly just wanted to rest. She didn’t want to imagine a whole night.
“There's no need to go to the bathroom. Are you afraid of me?”
She didn’t dare look back as she struggled with the zipper on her dress. An awfully poor design, really.
“Same thing, right? Just pretend I’m that guy and you’re that desperate girl.”
She heard him get off the bed, and before she could say anything his hand was on hers as she felt the zipper come apart. Her heart stopped and her hand froze in motion. She didn’t remove her hand from his and neither did he.
“Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about? You have no innocence nor purity. You think I’m that dense?” His breath brushed past her skin making the loose ends of her hair flow with his wind.
The fear crept up her skin, and she furrowed her eyebrows at the sudden attack. She got suddenly turned around and held firmly in his arms as she lost her balance. His eyes locked with hers. She'd only wish it was the look of love and admiration, but the burning in his eyes said otherwise.
“But don’t worry, pretty. I won’t hurt you or him,” he smirked as he tucked a loose curl behind her ear.
He stood her straight again and chuckled. She unconsciously brought her hand to caress the small baby bump which thankfully was not too visible, yet.
“I would give you a Grammy for your acting,” he remarked.
“A thank you, Hana, would have been a little nicer,” she calmly replied.
His chuckle stopped short. He took a good look at her as if his eyes were stripping her , taking her clothes off, piece by piece.
“I would if you weren’t so worthless,” he mocked, followed by a laughter of disgust.
“You’re no better,” she snapped.
And, she wished she could have ignored him as he turned back around. His emotions were clouded with hatred and anger as he glared at her. She stepped back out of fear, knowing full well she had triggered him. She had never seen him angry; she hadn't even met with him often before their marriage, but she knew she didn’t want to know what damage he could do.
“How am I going to claim that thing,” he gestured to her baby with disgust written all over his face, “mine, if we’ve never once interfered with each other. We could change that of course. Tonight if you please.”
If she thought his brother was bad, quite frankly Baekhyun wasn’t any much better.
“You won’t need to,” she defended and ignored whatever else he had to say as she walked into the bathroom, ending the conversation.
But, if he would have known they both would have lost a son, maybe one that still wasn’t his, he would have kept his mouth shut because never will he ever have felt so callous.
Her love for him was warm but combined with his coldness they made the perfect tornado. Her winds were always quick to dance with his. They were strong. They were fierce. They were destroying everything in their vows. To no doubt, they were their own paradox of some unexplainable force.
She sat in her car, and although she went out of her way to avoid him, he was the only thought on her mind. Where could she have
