First of Many to Come

Their Days

Jennie’s state of mind was a little bit of mayhem at that time. She was intending to come with a mere purpose; helping a friend on his moving day and Chanyeol was the friend she signified.

On a side note, Chanyeol was the only person— a guy, to be exact— for her to spend most of her time, not long ago. Didn’t know why it all should be started… But, once she met this ridiculously tall, yet cute human being in a random get-together, she could not disengage by his presence. Despite their setback at the very first, Jennie felt her days were much more distinctive ever since she met him in around a month. As being distinguished to a certain matter, was a thing she had never been good at. It was barely twenty-three years had she spent her life, and so many things just come and go as she never really cared about.

It suddenly reflected to the frame of Jennie’s mind, will he come and go just like the others?

“Okay?” Chanyeol scoffed as he received the vague answer from whom supposed to be his significant other. Thank God, he was cured after the shocked countenance, otherwise, it’d be awkward to talk over to Jennie when he was far of being ready for it.

“Hey,” Jennie tilted her head, fixed beholding to meet the guy’s orbs. “You’re not in the right position to ask me and doubting my answer. I might change it if you keep doing this.”

Even though her eyes were steady, but when she turned away it were unknowingly unstable.

Here we go again, the said tough and frank Jennie was here.

Chanyeol hummed and contemplating for a sec, afore he released the car keys from where it was then closed every door of the vehicle to bring Jennie upstairs.

“Come on, I need to present my girlfriend to some important people.”

Jennie almost forgot by ‘some’ intended, there was a notable soul included in his circle of important people.

Hadn’t Jennie noticed, Chanyeol was clutching his chest for a few times when they were climbing up the stairs. Having her naturally twined her arm inside his, was something he hardly anticipated can be happening in present. He had to mentally slap himself to convince things were really occurring after she said okay to be his girlfriend. The tall guy was grinning, as he couldn’t help to look away and hide it from her.

Sehun turned around to the dining area and see Suzy still being appeased by Baekhyun. Kai was there with him and tacitly he was thankful the tanned guy aimed to be impartial of both sides. He shouldn’t let his guard down and after years, he overlooked how terrifying the girl was when they had an argument as they were juveniles. Sometimes Sehun admired Baekhyun’s capability and matured to act like their parent, preaching one of them when they needed to. Even Kai couldn’t change Suzy’s mind when she thought she was right about the situation. He supposed— and was so sure— someone like Chanyeol wouldn’t change in one night, merely because some girl new.

Then and there, he perceived his best friend entering the place, hand in hand with the miss.

“Hello!” That was probably the highest pitch Sehun ever voiced in his existence.

Jennie didn’t say much toward Sehun’s weird and overly excitement when she came into the place. She responded with a cordial greet and simply examined his swollen foot. The other four exchanged glances, but soon were dividing as couple based on three areas. Only Chanyeol and Jennie was the real one in the giant’s bedroom, since Suzy swapped her boyfriend with Baekhyun, unpacking mug collections by the kitchen. Whereas Kai chosen to help Sehun dealing with the older’s figurines in the living room.

“How the old are you, Park Chanyeol?”

Chanyeol’s husky snicker came about and Jennie couldn’t help but to laugh along when one or two of his friends were exclaiming.

In the tallest guy’s room, he was occupied by moving the bed and making space for his drum set. Kai was called to give a hand and after five times going back and forth— not to mention, was an hour later— they finally settled it with the upmost corner as people would see the instrument first as they entered the room.

Jennie took a seat next to Chanyeol, who looked drained, leaning to the bedside once Kai was leaving to the kitchen seeking for intake. She had also done by organizing the smaller devices; such as pedals, straps and cases, neatly to the perfectly lined-up guitars, which taken care as well by the guy.

“So, is it a bedroom or a music studio? We never know…” Jennie said as she enfolded her legs to bring it close to her torso.

Chanyeol exhaled before he looked at her and then to his synthesizer wrapped by its case, still placed by the doorframe. “Just need to find one other extra spot to put that.”

Jennie let out a mild chuckle, eyes fixing at Chanyeol’s. Although she didn’t say the wonderment about his fondness of music, she questioned it perhaps a hundred bigger than what he declared for her.

When it came of being fond, Jennie wasn’t that different compared to the other. Even earlier she prevented to brush the sweats that keep dripping through his forehead, towards his eyes and the bridge in between. He kept scrunching his nose because of that though. She realized she started longing for his random expressions, in which she kept falling for.

Nevertheless, it didn’t mean could give her all the possibility, as eventually Jennie thought she might be giving in.

“Alright, big guy…” Jennie stood afore she offered her hand to be taken by Chanyeol, assisting him to get up. “I need to go home… I promised Rose for lunch and we probably need to buy some new stuff for our apartment.”

“But, you just got here…” Chanyeol’s attempt of cute whines wasn’t totally a failure, regardless of his deep voice. Yet he reached her hand to get up, contrary what he wanted the most, which was laying down. “And calling me ‘big guy’ after being my girlfriend sounds fancy though…”

“What? You are big and tall compared to me.”

She must be aligning her head to his shoulder when they both were currently standing up.

“Think about other nicknames… The one that sounds more romantic and cuter—“

“You think of yourself cute, Chanyeol?”

“Jennie, you said I was cute by the first time we met…”

“Well, it was my bad,” She utterly enjoyed joking with Chanyeol as he sent her a playful glare back. “Okay, nothing seems taking place on my head.”

He exhaled, rubbing his own chin. “Alright, next time you can come up with a few ideas.”

The two of them looked at each other before they smiled awkwardly, and it took no time for Chanyeol to have his fingers intertwined with hers.

“Thanks for taking time to see me…” he squeezed Jennie’s hand. “And…”

Jennie just stood there completely, replying with unexpressed gaze when he was leaning in and they had a couple inches before their lips were about to meet.

“What the hell are these orders of stuff?”

Baekhyun appeared and ruining that moment, while he was referring to how untidy the giant pal had arranging the space.

Yah, Park Chanyeol! How can you sleep in between this pile of junk?”

Chanyeol and Jennie later were walking along the set of steps, not sure whether it’s him or her, who slowed down the pace so that they wouldn’t part soon. It also seemed to be habitual having their hands linked at one another. Their footsteps stopped once reaching the entrance as the guy still insisting to walk her home.

“Hey, it’s fine… It’s not like you used to do it each day we met.” Jennie giggled quietly as she looked up to the frowning Chanyeol. There was a glint of disappointment in his eyes, but the tiredness overshowed it by lots.

“But, now you’re my girlfriend… Someone special that I need to treat even, uh, exceptional—“

Chanyeol’s babble has discontinued as Jennie circled his midriff with both her arms and make it a hug. She always remembered her favorite feels, burying her face to Chanyeol’s wool-covered chest. Even though now it was his black fleece jacket that wrapped around, but still feel much more comfortable than anywhere else she ever chanced. His scent of ocean breeze was indistinct, hitherto she still delighted in. Jennie sensed the older was hugging her back and he placed a peck on the top of her hair.

“Just stay a little bit longer…” Chanyeol murmured when he felt the girl was loosening her squeeze and he held her not to.

“Rose is already texting me to go,”

“Can I give Rose a call? I need to speak with her ‘cause I want to spend more time with my girlfriend…”

Jennie giggled again hearing Chanyeol kept emphasizing the word girlfriend. Perhaps both of them needed to reassure that they are now really a couple. She tried to pull back, but Chanyeol stopped it when their eyes meet by pressing his lips against Jennie’s.

Never did Chanyeol imagined this moment could be so precious and so right when he did with Jennie. It was angled perfectly, gentle and still, but then Jennie started wrapping her hands on to the back of Chanyeol’s neck after he tightened his grip around her waist. Now their eyes were closed, relying on the sense of both lips, beginning to open a bit and nudging with each other’s tongue. Jennie took a little gasp in amidst, might as well Chanyeol did when lifted her up to be at the same level as him. Before then the kiss turned into make out.

Chanyeol thought vaguely and believing that he was now kissing— hell no— making out with Jennie, at the entrance of his new building within the period of time that he could never supposed. It never can be compared to hundreds of girls he ever dated. Not even at the randomest places he ever did stuff which were more than this. It was the best feeling, which even better than replaying a thousand times of his first kiss. Chanyeol was sure by that time, he had foolishly, falling for Jennie.

“Oh, God… Now she’s calling me,” Jennie whispered and quickly freed her lips from Chanyeol, as she took the phone out from her pocket when she was back on the ground.

“Who? Rose?” Chanyeol asked in the middle of his soft panting, one hand still grabbing her waist and both grinned with the leftover embarrassments of what they just did.

Jennie nodded, scrolling over her iPhone to find a few messages from Rosé, already mad that she hasn’t come to the meeting point as they intended to. “Okay, so…” She bit her lower lip before looking up again at him. “I’ll see you later… Soon?”

Chanyeol made her pause as he planted another quick kiss on Jennie’s lips.

“Text me when you get there…” He said, letting her go although she couldn’t take her view off the boyfriend.

Then, the girl waved as walking backwards, exiting the building and she was getting halt as he had once again called her name.

“Hey, Jennie! Thanks for being my girlfriend!”

Jennie smiled responding to Chanyeol and turned around, at what time she couldn’t help but to clutch her chest and there began to feel a pang.

For the umpteenth time, Sehun tried to get up from the couch but his swollen foot wouldn’t let him do so. His friends were now at their respectful seats by the living room, catching breath for moving the stuff that seemed will be done soon. At the moment, he caught Chanyeol was entering the place and took seat the furthest to him, beside Baekhyun. Sehun didn’t say a word, even though so many questions he wanted to ask the tallest and it remained in his own head.

Sehun knew it doesn’t need to be him as the first to start a conversation. Someone like Baekhyun would surely commenced it, even before anyone think about in the first place.

“You want to tell us about it or you want to let us hang with our own assumptions?” Baekhyun casually sipped his coke and shifted to directly view the giant pal.

“You got to get used of Jennie hanging with us more often, ‘cause I don’t want to cut down time with my girlfriend, as well as you guys…” Chanyeol took the can from the smaller’s grip and drank it after he answered.

Baekhyun raised his hand as he was about to protest— for the coke anyways— but then he let Chanyeol be, when having a pleased smile presented by his small lips. Might the same as what Suzy and Kai reflected. However, another person was disagreeing in his own way, scoffing he gave as respond.

“Sehunnie, what’s wrong?”

Chanyeol realized he shouldn’t bothered to ask him that.

Sehun shook his head in disbelief, stirring to face the older with a typical smirk plastered within his icy features. “You tell me, Yeol… Before I’d tell everything, I know about you and that could make this all go wrong.”

“Sehun-ah, I mean this... I’m in love with her— ”

“I left about a week and then you went with the girl who used to go out with me? And you, Park Chanyeol, out of all people is in love?” replied Sehun by highlighting the last word and he might feel a bit bipolar about himself. He couldn’t believe the older would say it right to his face.

The older sighed, glancing over the other three, before looking at the youngest guy once more. “We all met her at the same time, about a month ago… And yes, I am in love with her… I can change, and I’d do it for Jennie.”

“You almost got me with that whole lot of crap.”

Sehun shut the contention and caused Chanyeol was on his feet, ready to take strides toward his new bedroom. The older tried to be a bigger man, which he couldn’t have further argument with Sehun, thinking it would be such a waste of time. Chanyeol supposed better to have some sleep, as in the meantime he was drained as hell.

“You know you can continue seeing her if you don’t keep fleeting at clubs and sleeping with any girl you met.” The giant pointed out as he still stood and pressed his palms to where the younger leaned on the couch.

“And you aren’t?” Sehun retorted, with a taunting tone and viewing straight up.

“Nevermore within this month.”

“Yeol, you can save those bulls for your new girlfriend—"

It stopped when Chanyeol shoved one of the cushions to shut Sehun’s mouth. The one he snatched from supporting the younger’s spine, which caused him losing balance and slumped in the seat. Then, Chanyeol rushed to leave the living place as Sehun intended to call out his name. Too late though, the giant was already slamming his door.

The palest guy wanted to stand and caught up with the older, but then again, he couldn’t. Just when he thought the others were becoming voiceless audience of their heated discussion, another voice came upon and has irked him, more or less.

“You slept with someone else and you can’t let Jennie go for a better man?”

Sehun frowned as he stared to the person, crossing arms, seated between Baekhyun and Kai. He pointed first to Suzy, but he aimed presently at her boyfriend.

“Kai, seriously… If your girlfriend can’t keep shut and won’t, at least, shows that she’s still my friend… Even though I didn’t ask her to be on my side, which I’m not, but, she can’t be on Yeol’s side that much!”

Yah! Why can’t you say it directly in my face?!”

Kai— the one who actually Sehun referred to— has merely sighed before he was glancing at Baekhyun, as then he hindered his said fiancée to jump on Sehun, who couldn’t move anywhere.

“Okay, enough sweetie…” Kai seized one of Suzy’s wrists before it started flailing and might reach something to throw at Sehun, who looked challenging from his seat. “Maybe we need to go home now, I think you’re tired from helping Yeol’s moving…”

Baekhyun had nonchalantly munched the potato chips as he kept looking over how childish the younger ones were behaving.

I see... So we've seen jennie become closer to chanyeol in the absence of sehun. Made me think is like a rebound relationship. I've realized that so far you have showed us mostly chanyeol feelings towards her, I believe she's also genuinely attracted to him but not deep as his feelings. (I don't know, I might rambling a nonsense, I have to read previous chapters again to confirm). In this chapter it shows she still occasionally thinking about sehun. And her avoidance to talk about him with chanyeol shows she might have a lingering feeling left.

At the same time i sympathize sehun. He's letting go suzy before, and now jennie. But his idea of relationship is so wrong and not healthy. What make he thinks he can let go suzy but not jennie? I believe what he feels towards suzy before is deeper than his feelings now. I see it more like he doesn't like the feeling of losing to his friends second time. Unless he change his view of romantic relationship as valuable as his friendship then he will have a chance again with jennie. Right now he doesn't stand a chance. Not jennie, not even any other girls that want serious relationship.

P/s: I feel like crying when I see this updated. But I understand you lost your USB and all. So I'm gifting u this long comment.keke. Cheers!
