Reconciliation
The Golden QuillHoseok arrived the day before and was already right back to take care of his affairs. He had spent one day with his wife and daughter and informed his father that he was back. He called Yoongi, Gaelin and Soo-hyuk for a dinner at the Finite dining room and was determined to sort out the issues between them.
“Oppa, this is too much!” Gaelin entered the dining room and saw that it was empty except for a single round table with four chairs. She looked around the massive room and smiled, “but I love this room. I got married in this room.”
“Take the President’s coat,” Hoseok stood from the table and watched as his House Master relieved Gaelin of her heavy winter coat. She was wearing a smart black pants suit and her hair was at least styled. Gaelin had the distinct impression that Hoseok was assessing her as she walked across the large room to meet him. “Let me take a look at you then?” he came around the table and placed hands on her shoulders, he felt the bones beneath the tailored jacket and concealed his concern. Gaelin was silent as he lifted his hands to her face and squeezed her cheeks as if he were measuring them. “Are you well Song Gaelin?” he searched her face; his gaze was heavy and concentrated, “I have missed you the most. You have done well in my absence.”
“Oppa…” Gaelin was touched by his words and feeling vulnerable she wanted to cry. Her eyes felt moist but she managed to control her tears.
Hoseok suddenly broke into an awkward laugh, “Is that punk giving you a hard time? Don’t worry I will sort him out.”
Gaelin sighed, “Yah oppa I don’t need you to…”
“House Master bring in the food and wine. I want to eat a feast. I have missed Korean food.” He let her go and pulled out a chair, “Sit,” he pushed her into the chair and motioned for the waiters who entered the room, “I have all your favourite dishes here.”
Yoongi entered the dining room and watched as Hoseok sat beside Gaelin. They were seated close together and Hoseok had a hand on Gaelin’s back. They seemed deep in conversation. He cleared his mind and then approached the table and surveyed the spread of food before he sat on the other side of Gaelin. “Let's eat.” He didn’t delay as he also started to sample the assortment of dishes. He was forcing himself to eat because they wanted Gaelin to eat.
“You two should take better care,” Hoseok berated in an exasperated tone. He pushed a platter of freshly caught line fish toward Gaelin, “have this next.”
“Oppa is being too pushy,” but she sampled some of the fish. She was forcing herself to eat because she knew Hoseok wouldn’t put up with her excuses. Hoseok watched her eat with an eager look like it was entertaining for him. Yoongi shook his head but didn’t comment. Hoseok had already met with Yoongi earlier that morning and had been filled in on everything that had happened in his absence and he felt partly responsible for the problems in Gaelin and Soo-hyuk’s marriage.
“Where is that punk?” Yoongi asked and they knew he was referring to Soo-hyuk.
“Ah, he just arrived.” Hoseok nodded toward the entrance of the room.<
