The Golden QuillGaelin led Jong-hyun toward the beach, where she knew Yoongi would be waiting. After spending the morning with father and daughter, she knew what she wanted to do and she needed to know Yoongi was close. Just knowing he would be watching her, gave her courage. Jong-hyun had left Yoonah with his neighbor so he told her they had time to explore the beach.
“You have a wonderful life here,” Gaelin told him, she turned to face him and stretched out her hand.
“What are you doing?” Jong-hyun laughed but took her hand and Gaelin shook it firmly. Jong-hyun frowned as he noticed the strength in the handshake, the square line of her shoulders, the slight tilt of her chin. He then realized that she no longer wore jeans, but smart slacks and blouse. Her hair was styled stylishly in a bun. It was all too familiar to him.
Gaelin took a deep breath and saw Yoongi in the distance; he had rolled up his jeans and stood by the shore wetting his feet in the water, “Third generation, Song Gaelin, from the House of Song and the current President of Oracle Systems. It is a pleasure to meet you Hong Jong-hyun.” She bowed.
Jong-hyun dropped her hand and stepped toward the water, “So you are not here by chance? There’s no job?”
“There’s no job.”
“Then why?”
“I am here because of Min Sinyeo.” Gaelin let that piece of news sink in.
“Of course you are. Why else would a woman like you even speak to me?” he turned to her and there was a raw pain there and it cut through her. “You all have the same look.” He waved his hand in front of her body.
“I am sorry that I deceived you.”
“So what has she done?” Jong-hyun ignored her apology, “is she okay? Did she send you here to find out about Yoonah?” there was a hope and she hated herself even more.
“No,” Gaelin looked passed him to where Yoongi had announced his presence, “I am sorry but that is not why we are here.”
