“I want to thank you for what you did.”

Saya shielded her eyes as Gaelin stood in front of her. It was another perfect day and the sun was high in the sky. Gaelin had come to say goodbye to Saya.

“What?” Saya shrugged, “I didn’t do anything.”

“You let Hoseok oppa go. You released him from all the guilt he carried all these years. I will always be grateful to you for that.” Gaelin sat beside her on the porch.

“It’s what you wanted right? That is the real reason you came to see me last night. To make sure that I let go of any illusions where Hoseok ssi is concerned.”

Gaelin smiled as she watched the busy street and all its colourful activity. “It is my job to protect my family.”

Saya also watched the children playing before she turned to Gaelin, “You didn’t exactly like me back then did you?”

“No, I don’t suppose I liked anyone who took his attention from me.”

“It’s easy to see that you are still number one in those men’s eyes. How caring Hoseok ssi is towards you, I have dreamt of that.”

“I know. I am sorry I was not more understanding as a youth.”

“It’s in the past.” Saya leant back. “I am happy here. I don’t ever see myself going back. My father is joining us next year. Then everything will be fine.”

“I am glad.” Gaelin stood.

“Wait, good luck. With the child I mean.” Saya smiled, “Do you have any names in mind?”

“I was thinking of Jongin or Sehun.” Gaelin admitted, “I will have to
