Chapter Three
the witch has striked again!
"So you're telling me the Oh Jiae showed up and defended you from the witch?" Jaeyoon asked with an incredulous look on his face. Joori immediately shushed him, seeing as he was being too loud based on the glances they were receiving from other drama club members. "Quiet, I don't need everyone knowing about it. And don't call Chungha a "witch," she's still my friend you know." Jaeyoon rolled his, "I'm pretty sure some people already know, especially that head cheerleader. Also, maybe if she were to actually act like a friend then maybe I wouldn't call her a witch." Joori sighed as she continued to paint the scenery board for the upcoming Grease play, she knew Jaeyoon had a point. However, Joori just couldn't let herself accept the fact that Chungha had literally become a "witch" or rather a bully to her. It was only a month ago the two were chatting about Joori's crush on Changgu over pizza, with Chungha always commenting on how she should just confess to him already. However, things changed and Chungha ended up liking the same guy Joori liked; in the end, Chungha ditched Joori for a chance at romance. "This is looking great, Joori!" Changgu complimented, having just showed up when the two friends had concluded talking about Chungha and her misdeeds. "T-Thank you." Joori stuttered out, still a bit suprised from his sudden appearance. Changgu simply smiled at Joori as she continued to work on her painting, he really enjoyed seeing how Joori was able to create such amazing pieces for all of the plays. "Changgu! There you are, I was looking for you." Chungha had made her appearance, per usual during drama club meetings especially whenever Changgu tried to talk with Joori. She clinged herself on to his arm, causing Jaeyoon to stifle his laughter at Changgu's cringing. It was obvious, at least to Jaeyoon, that Changgu didn't want anyone hanging on him especially Chungha. "Oh, why were you looking for me?" Changgu asked as he detached Chungha from his arm, much to her displeasure and Joori's happiness. "Ms. Ahn wants the leads to practice lines, which means everyone needs to get off stage so we can practice in the center stage." Chungha glared at Joori and Jaeyoon when she mentioned people getting off stage, it was her way of saying GTFO so that I can be with my crush. "I'm sure we don't need the entire stage, but let's just go to the center and practice our lines just for now." Joori smiled at Changgu's defiance towards Chungha as he guided the "witch" to the center stage so they could practice their lines.
Drama club members practiced their lines for about two hours before a majority of the students left for the day, the practice was held after school afterall. Soon, Joori was the only person on stage, still attempting to finish the scenery piece she was working on. Meanwhile, Changgu was still looking over his lines and trying his best to memorize them near the backstage area. Checking his clock and seeing that it was almost seven o' clock at night, he quickly packed up his belongings and made his way back on stage. Stopping dead in his tracks, Changgu watched Joori paint. He couldn't believe she was still working on the painting despite it being so late now. With a smile, Changgu approached Joori silently before squatting down next to her. "Why are you still here?" Joori jumped at the sudden question, knocking over her satchel that held everything a purse would typically carry. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Changgu quickly apologized as he picked up her belongings that had spilled out of the satchel, all except for one item that had slid under the curtain and towards the backstage area. "I-It's alright, I just didn't expect you to be here is all.." Joori shyly spoke, tucking her hair behind her ear out of nervousness. "Well, how about I make it up to you?" Changgu smiled as he helped Joori stand up
