Kris’ POV

              I don’t know what bothered me more- Nana throwing the salad at me or Nana holding Chanyeol’s hand. I looked at myself at the mirror. My polo was soiled from the salad dressing earlier and I smelt of chicken. I shook my head as I recon Nana’s actions. She ran away with Chanyeol and that angered me more. She’s the first girl to refuse my presence, and that challenged me more.

Seeing Nana for the first time reminded me of someone.  I looked at her from head to toe and it made me realize that Nana looks like her a lot. The only difference is their hair color. Nana is a brunette. She went straight to the vacant chair beside me and confided into her own world. She seemed uninterested about everything. Not even paying a glimpse to our direction. Who disregards my presence? I need to know her, thus I ended up insulting her. She didn’t look like a . No, not even close, but if saying that she is catches her attention, then I would.

“Holy Fu-, Kris what happened to you?” Tao entered the comfort room holding a paper.

“Nana threw salad at me” I wiped the grease of salad that stained my polo. Tao exploded in laughter. Healways finds my misfortunes funny.

“Are you serious? I told you not to go after her. She doesn’t like you can’t you see. She’s not Ma-“ I know where this is going and so I hushed him. He’s always unnecessarily talkative.

“That Chanyeol is getting on my nerves” I added.

“Chanyeol always gets the girl. History repeats itself, Kris. But anyway, come on. We’re going to be late for class” yeah right. Chanyeol does, but not this time.

“I’m not coming. Can’t you see?” I showed my polo shirt.

“God, you stink. But here’s the catch. You might want to come to class now” I eyed him suspiciously. He waved the paper he’s holding like a ticket. I quickly snatched the paper from Tao and scanned it. And to my surprise, the paper has Lim Jin Ah printed on it. It’s her in’ schedule. And her next class is the same as mine. I couldn’t help but chuckle. I patted Tao’s back- he deserved it.

“How did you get this?” Still not believing of what’s happening.

“Kris, I’m the son of the School’s principal. Do you really think I couldn’t get it? That hurt my feelings” Tao mocked an expression of hurt. I slightly pushed him

“Cute, man. Get your together. Come on, we have a class to attend to” I encouraged.

“Yah, aren’t you going to change? I have a spare shirt in my locker” Tao’s my life savior. Ever since Chanyeol and I ended our friendship, I was left with Tao. And I have no complaints about that. Tao and I maintained our bad boy reputation.

“Thanks for the shirt, man” I fist-bumped with Tao.

I made my way to room 300 and peeked first. I scanned the room for a beautiful brunette and yep, I found her. She’s busy listening to Mr. Carvin’s discussion. I couldn’t help but smile. She really reminds me of Max. And then I knocked.

“Ah Mr.Wu, that’s quite an entrance. You’re fifteen minutes late already” Mr. Carvin announced. I’m already used to professors purposely embarrassing me. But that won’t make me budge. I’m the school’s badboy, being late is a trademark.

“I’m really sorry Mr. Carvin” I don’t usually say sorry for my actions because, why would I? But having the girl I like in this classroom, I need some impressing to do. I saw Nana’s back stiffened and she slowly slid her body in her chair as she heard my voice. I like that I have an effect on her just as she has on me. It’s too much for me to handle.

I was never going to pay attention to Mr. Carvin anyway. He talks way too much.  Nana completely stole my attention and I didn’t mind. I watched her as she flipped her hair from time to time. I can’t deny the beauty she has. It hasn’t dawned into me that she’s Korean- she doesn’t look like one. She has big eyes, well maybe not too big, to start with. Her lips are another story, don’t make me even talk about it.

“Kris, I’m sure Ms. Nana would find it creepy that you are staring at her for like thirty minutes already. You’ll bore a hole in her.” Great. Mr. Baldy just announced my stalking skills. Everyone was looking at her and I noticed that she’s not one of those girls who love attention. She was uneasy with this whole thing. I watched her as she fidgeted with her fingers. I cleared my throat and fixed my hair to divert the class’ attention to me.

“Maybe you could tutor Mr. Kris in his chemistry, Ms. Nana. He’s failing terribly” I quickly looked up to Mr. Baldy and he just smiled at me. This old man is trying to help my way towards the girl I am being obsessed to right now. I couldn’t stop smiling. It turns out that the odds have come to my favor. I looked at Nana and saw the look of disbelief in her eyes. She glanced at my direction and shook her head. She was still shocked of how the events turned out.

I hurriedly tore a piece of paper from my notebook and wrote something.

“Okay class. Pop quiz next meeting” Mr. Carvin exclaimed.

Just as the bell rang, I crumpled the paper and threw it at Nana. The paper hit her back. She looked at me irritatingly, she knew it was me. There’s no one else interested on her except me, right? I scanned the whole classroom for a possible match. Yep, No one. She picked up the paper and read its content. Without hesitation, she crumpled it back. She made it sure that I was looking at her when she did that. Then she teasingly smiled at me. God, she amused me. She grabbed her stuff and made her way out. I looked at my wrist watch to find out it was already 3:30 Pm. I picked up my bag and went out.

“Kris Kris!” I heard Tao called me as he ran after me.

“What?”

“How was Chemistry? I’m sure it’s your favorite subject now.” Tao surely knows me. I just smiled at him as a sign of my approval.

“Are you going home now?” He asked me.

“No, I’m going to wait for someone” I playfully looked at him. Making my eyebrows dance.

“Don’t tell me you’re dating someone while crushing on Nana” I rolled my eyes at him.

“What? No. Don’t be ridiculous. We may be bad boys, but when it comes to the girl we like. There’s no cheating” I nudged his shoulder.

“Whatever. I don’t like what she’s doing to you, man. You’re never serious when it comes to girls”

“Not this time” I patted his back and left him. I can’t even remember the last time I have been serious with a girl. Tao and I never dated girls. We pick up girls from time to time and give them a good time, but that was it. There were no feelings, no attachments, no callbacks. It should stay that way. The last time I was hooked with a girl, I was left with nothing but heartache. And from then on, I decided that no girl can shake me up again.

I walked down the parking lot where my motorcycle was parked. There’s still a few minutes left till four o’ clock. I rested my hip on the motor, crossed my legs, hands on my pocket and patiently waited. I have no idea if she was coming, but based from what happened earlier, it’s a no show. It’s four o’ one already, she’s not going to come. I stood up and picked up my helmet.

“Yah!!!” I heard a yell that sounded so beautiful. I placed my helmet down and turned to face her. I saw her briskly walking towards me with her not so amused face. Is it bad that I found it attractive? Everything about her is attractive.

“Is this a game to you?!” She stood in front of me and threw the pieces of paper at my face then she crossed her arms in front her chest. What is about this girl throwing things at my face.

“The only reason I came here is to make clear to you that there’s no way I’m going to tutor you. I bet on your cat’s grave that you’re friends with Mr. Carvin” She accused.

“Hey, lady. I’m desperate, but not that desperate. It’s not my problem that baldy wants you to help me with my grades” I’d like to see up to what extent her annoyance would be.

“Well it’s not my problem that you’re stupid” She calmly stated. I don’t know why, but Nana being calm at situations like these makes me cringe. And she called me stupid. Great Kris. The girl you like thinks you’re stupid.

I hastily straightened my body but then I saw her flinched. She backed a few steps away from me. Did she think I was going to hit her again? I recalled earlier when I cornered her against the walls, she raised her arms up defensively like I was going to hit her.  I never hit on girl, well maybe figuratively but never physically.

“Hey hey, I’m not going to hurt you” I tried to reach for her arm, but obviously failed. She just looked at me nervously.

“Look, Kris. I have no time to do this with you. And so, I’m asking you very nicely. Please leave me and Chanyeol alone” Nana begged at me. But hearing Chanyeol’s name annoyed me.

“Let’s make a deal then.” There’s no way I’m giving up yet. Nana tilted her head and raised her eyebrow.

“Teach me chemistry and I’ll leave the two of you alone” It seemed plausible, but this made it way easier for me. Nana debated with herself. She bit her lip innocently which absolutely . I made a mental note to make her uneasy often.

“Just two sessions” she suggested.

“Four” The more I pushed her, the more chances of me getting to know her. So, keep your hopes up, Kris.

“Three”.

“Call” Three study sessions with her isn’t bad. It’s too good for my liking.

She made her way to me too closely “Then after that, I will not hear anything from you ever again. Is that clear?” I couldn’t help but look at those luscious lips and fantasize about kissing her. Nana looked at me suspiciously with her brows raised again. I cleared my throat.

“Sure, like I never even existed” I’m clueless as to what will happen next, but I’ll make sure that my existence will never be forgotten.

Nana beamed her white teeth and extended her hand. “You got yourself a deal” I smiled and shook her hand. Her hand is too smooth that I find it too hard to it let go. Nana noticed I was holding her hand for too long and she pulled it away. She looked at me one last time and turned her back at me.

“Wait wait” I wasn’t ready to let her go just yet.

“When are we going to start? The quiz is on Wednesday. I don’t like to fail any further” My stupidity just made my eagerness to be with her way too easy. Being stupid ain’t that bad, I guess.

“ I can’t today. I have to make it at home by four thir- Oh shoot. “ She glanced at her watch making me glance into mine. There’s ten minutes left and I wondered why does she need to be at home by four thirty.

“I have to go. Let’s start tomorrow” She turned her back again and started sprinting.

“Wait, Nana! “

“What now?” She shouted but not stopping from her run.

“Come on, I might get you home faster” I offered and then she stopped. She started to walk back to me.

“What? With your bike? No. There’s no way I’m getting on that” She refused me with her hands in a no-no position.

“Where do you live?” I’d like to thank the Gods at this moment because not only there’s a possibility that Nana will ride with me, I also get to know where she lives.

“Uhm It’s two blocks away. God! I wasted two minutes with you already” She grunted.

“Then come on. You don’t want to be late” She squinted her eyes at me studying me as if I had a hidden agenda. Oh Nana, of course I have.

“Just this time, Kris. Get me home as soon as possible…..Alive!”

“You’re over reacting. Hop in!” I gave her the other helmet as I settled myself on my seat. Nana nervously stared at me.

“What? Do you want to be late?” She shook her head.

“Just this time, Kris” She assured me. I offered her my hand in return and she gladly took it. I helped her sit behind me. I squeezed the motorcycle clutch lever, but then I noticed Nana’s arm aren’t around my waist.

“Do you want to die?”

“What?”

“Your arms. Hold on to me” She made an Oh expression and she lightly held onto the pockets of my jacket. I kicked-start the motor making her body in contact with mine. I was liking it. It was smiling too much that it hurt, but I wouldn’t trade this moment for anything. I rapidly maneuvered to my right and I felt a tighter hold around my waist.

“Yah, Kris don’t enjoy this too much” She teased. Ah this girl.

We reached her residence in a matter of five minutes leaving her another two minutes to spare to whatever she needs to do. She stepped away from the motor and removed my helmet. Her hair was gorgeously disturbed.

“I really have to go now. Thanks for the reckless ride, Kris but this wouldn't happen again” I couldn’t read her mind. Everything about her is a mystery.

“Tomorrow?” I raised my brow.

“Yup” And just like that, she left. I watched her as she ran towards the two-storey house without bothering to look back.
