SaTzu One-Shots

“Captain Tzuyu!”

Tzuyu turned around quickly. “What is it Momo?”

Momo pulled out a map and pointed at various areas on it. “Nayeon has been paying close attention to weather patterns and predicts that these four areas will have storms passing through. We may need to change course.”

Tzuyu nodded before facing the bridge of the boat. “Jeongyeon! Storm warning! Set a course for northwest!”

“Aye aye Captain!” Jeongyeon quickly steers the ship towards northwest.

“All hands on deck!” Tzuyu stood near the mast of the ship as several people ran towards the deck.

“We need to batten down the hatches, storms are unpredictable. We can’t risk anyone getting hurt,” Tzuyu ordered.

“I’ll check every door and hatchet Captain!” Dahyun saluted.

“Good, go bear a hand Chaeyoung, Dahyun will need all the help she can get,” Tzuyu replied, nodding.

“Yes Captain!” Chaeyoung followed Dahyun towards the cabins.

“Jihyo!”

“Yes?” Jihyo’s head popped out from the crow’s nest.

“Keep an eye out for any dark clouds, I don’t want a single drop on this ship!” Tzuyu had to squint to see Jihyo’s nod before she disappeared back into the crow’s nest.

“Momo, tell Mina to prepare supper. I’m sure you’re all getting hungry.”

As if on cue, Momo’s stomach growls. She turns a faint shade of red before saluting and taking off to find Mina.

Tzuyu shakes her head in amusement before looking at the ocean. It is a beautiful shade of dark blue. Tzuyu has always wanted to lead a ship; it’s always been a dream of hers. She could tell that her sailors respected and trusted her. In return, she always made sure to treat them with kindness.

Mina prepared food for everyone. Jihyo and Jeongyeon left their stations for a bit to eat as well. After eating, Tzuyu suggested for everyone to head to the cabins and sleep.

“What about you Captain?” Nayeon asked, nibbling on a piece of bread.

“I’ll man the ship, Jeongyeon needs to rest," Tzuyu stated, drinking the last of her soup. Jeongyeon looked up abruptly.

“But-”

“Are you refusing to follow orders, Jeongyeon?” Tzuyu raised an eyebrow.

“No ma’am,” Jeongyeon sighed.

“Good.”

Tzuyu dismissed them all before walking towards the cockpit. She placed her hands on the wheel, sighing happily. Even with a potential storm coming through, she felt at peace.

A few hours passed since supper. It was the dead of night. Tzuyu couldn’t hear anything besides the calming ocean waves. She let go of the wheel and walked towards the deck. She peered up at the sail to make sure there were no blemishes before making her way towards the upper deck. The ship moved gently against the water, it’s hard to believe that a storm is near them.

Tzuyu placed her hands on the ship’s railings while looking over the water. She took a deep breath, filling her senses with salty air. A faint sound could be heard near her. Tzuyu froze before looking around.

“Who’s there?”

Nobody answered.

Tzuyu shook her head. “I need to get more sleep, I’m hearing things.”

Tzuyu froze again when she heard what she thought was music. The music was calm and serene. Tzuyu couldn’t help but want to hear more. She walked along the deck to where she thinks she hears the soft music. The music seems to be coming from the water. Tzuyu peered over the deck once more and blinks several times as she takes in the sight before her.

She saw a beautiful woman in the water. The water must’ve been freezing, but the woman looked calm, happy.

“Hello.”

Tzuyu doesn’t think she’s ever heard a voice so beautiful before in her life.

“H-Hello…” Tzuyu couldn’t take her eyes off of her. “D-Do you need help, miss?”

The woman chuckled before shaking her head. “No, I’m fine here.”

“But-” Tzuyu noticed a little splash in the water. Her eyes widen as she looks at what is attached to the beautiful creature before her.

A fish tail.

“A… mermaid?” Tzuyu whispered.

“If that’s what you’d like to call me, sure.” She smiled. “Although I usually go by Sana.”

“Sana…” Tzuyu tried the name out. The word felt heavenly on her tongue. “Why are you here?”

Sana giggled. “Why are you here?”

“I’m the Captain of this ship,” Tzuyu said proudly.

“And I’m a mermaid of these waters,” Sana replied with a twinkle in eye. “Are we not both justified to be here?”

“I suppose so…”

Tzuyu didn’t know what to think. She’s never believed in mermaids. This was an astounding discovery.

“Was the music coming from you?” Tzuyu asked quietly. She felt a connection with the young mermaid. She didn’t want to scare her off by waking up her sailors.

“Maybe,” Sana teased. She began to swim in little circles, humming. Tzuyu swears that her ears are being blessed.

“I-”

The ship rumbled.

“What-” The whole ship shook violently. The sail began moving haphazardly. Tzuyu gave a quick look of fear towards Sana, who still looked calm. Tzuyu quickly ran towards the cockpit to try to redirect the boat. She doesn’t know what’s happening.

Tzuyu suddenly felt raindrops falling on her.

“How can that be? The skies were clear just a moment ago?” Tzuyu looked up in panic. She was about to shout for her sailors before rough winds started hitting her. Tzuyu screamed as she was thrown overboard. She tried to stay above water, but the sea was suddenly in chaos. The waves attacked her with no mercy. Tzuyu couldn’t stop the gulps of salt water that was entering her lungs.

She suddenly felt heavy and had a difficult time keeping her eyes open. She slowly drifted deeper into the cold, dark waters below her. She could feel all the air leaving her lungs.

The last thing she saw was bright brown eyes.

When Tzuyu woke up, she was lying on sand. She coughed violently before sitting up. She took several minutes to compose herself before taking in the sight before her. She saw beautiful palm trees to her left, bright blue skies in front of her that left no indication of there ever being a storm, and a familiar figure to her right. She realized that they were right on the edge of the island.

Sana was lying next to Tzuyu, slowly rubbing circles on her wet, clothed stomach.

“Sana?”

“You’re finally awake.” Sana smiled gently.

“What happened out there?” Tzuyu was too busy thinking about the chaos last night to think about Sana’s seductive actions.

“There was a sudden storm. You went overboard,” Sana explained, “I pulled you from the waters and brought you to this island. I then revived you.”

“Revived me?”

“I… gifted you with oxygen from my own lips,” Sana smirked. Tzuyu felt her cheeks turn a deep shade of red.

“I-I see.” Tzuyu gulped before nodding at Sana. “Thank you for that, I will forever be grateful.” Tzuyu couldn’t help but let her eyes drift over Sana’s body. She couldn’t see her that well last night, but now she could. Sana was completely bare aside from the bright blue tail that replaced where legs would normally be.

When Sana lightly Tzuyu’s back, the latter coughed awkwardly and quickly looked away.

“My apologies, I didn’t mean to stare,” Tzuyu apologized.

“That’s no reason to apologize, I’m sure you’ve seen it all before,” Sana smirked.

“I can safely say I haven’t seen that before.” Tzuyu pointed at the tail.

“I wasn’t talking about that.” Sana’s smirk widened and Tzuyu became even more red.

“A-Are you okay?” Tzuyu changed subjects, “were you not affected by the storm?”

“It may have been chaotic above the water, but I can assure you that it felt pleasant under it,” Sana assured, Tzuyu’s hair away from her face. Tzuyu froze as Sana leaned her face close to Tzuyu, allowing her nose to brush Tzuyu’s soft cheek. The mermaid wrapped a gentle arm around Tzuyu’s waist as brushed hers lips down to Tzuyu’s still-wet neck.

Tzuyu spluttered as she crawled backwards. “Um, I should be trying to find my-”

Tzuyu paused.

“My sailors! I need to find them!” She felt a panic run through her.

“Why?” Sana tilted her head. Tzuyu thinks she saw a pout.

“The storm was horrible last night.” Tzuyu looked around frantically. “Did you save any of my sailors? Did you see what happened to them?”

Sana slowly shook her head, trying to soothe Tzuyu by gently rubbing her stomach again. “No, you were the only one who went overboard.”

“Was my ship destroyed?” Tzuyu feared the answer.

“I do not believe so. After you lost consciousness I quickly brought you to this island. It wasn’t as if I could hold you above water forever, or try to enter your boat.” Sana slowly moved her tail to prove her point.

“O-Okay.” Tzuyu took deep breaths before placing her palm on top of Sana’s.

“Thank you so much for your help, Sana,” Tzuyu said gratefully. She moved her thumbs in circles on Sana’s hand, earning herself a pleased smile.

“Trust me, the pleasure’s all mine, Captain,” Sana winked. Tzuyu laid there in silence for a few seconds before speaking.

“So… mermaid, huh?”

Sana giggled. “Yup.”

“Are all the other mermaids as beautiful as you?”

Sana couldn’t believe she felt a blush upon her cheeks. “If they are, I’d prefer it if you don’t tell me. I’d rather save all your compliments for myself.”

Tzuyu slowly nodded before sitting up. Sana pouted at the loss of contact.

“I need to find help. I need some way to find my ship.” Tzuyu thought she saw a look of anger cross Sana’s face, but all she sees right now is a smile.

“Okay, I’ll try to help.” Sana slowly moved her way back to the water. After completely submerging herself, she brought up her head. “I’ll try to find it for you.”

“Thank you, I’ll try to see if I can find anyone on this island.” Tzuyu smiled, walking towards the trees. Sana had a blank expression on her face. She shook her head and began swimming with no expectations to find anything.

Tzuyu spent hours exploring the island, but she couldn’t find anyone. There was nothing that proved that there was any human life at all. Despite the loneliness, the island truly was a marvel. There were beautiful open plains and gorgeous plants scattered throughout the island. Tzuyu’s never seen anything like it.

Tzuyu sighed before returning to where she left Sana. The beautiful mermaid was there, laid out on a large rock near the edge of the island.

Sana heard soft footsteps on the sand and lifted her head, a smiling entering her face immediately before a small pout erased it. “Tzuyu, I’m sorry. I couldn’t find anything… I swam for hours before giving up. There simply aren’t any ships near this island.”

Tzuyu returned a small smile. “It’s okay, I’m sure you searched with the utmost effort.”

“I did,” Sana nodded. She patted the side of the rock. “Come.”

Tzuyu chuckled before waving her way through the shallow water. She climb the large rock and sat near Sana. Sana grinned as she laid her head on Tzuyu’s lap. The Captain breathed slowly. Something about Sana’s presence calmed her, every touch felt absolutely divine.

Sana slowly crawled her way up Tzuyu’s body, wrapping her arms around Tzuyu’s neck.

The Captain stilled. The feel of Sana’s bare body against her’s is almost too much to handle.

Sana immediately brushed her lips against Tzuyu’s ears. “You have nothing to be afraid of... I’m here.” But Tzuyu felt like that reason alone is enough to feel scared. She didn’t understand why Sana impacts her this much.

Sana caressed Tzuyu’s face, bringing it closer to her own. Tzuyu felt her eyes droop as Sana’s lips brushed her cheeks, lingering there for a few seconds before trailing down her jawline and reaching her lips. Tzuyu shuddered as she felt Sana’s lips move gently against her own, and she’s sure it’s not the sea breeze causing this reaction. Sana gave Tzuyu a few quick pecks on her lips before pulling back.

“How was that?” Sana smiled. “Better?”

Tzuyu stared at Sana. This woman was beautiful and kind. She has shown her affection and has not wronged her thus far.

“T-That was wonderful, but-” Tzuyu couldn’t finish her sentence as Sana carefully pushed Tzuyu down on her back, leaning over her with a seductive glint in her eyes. Sana slowly ed Tzuyu wet jacket while whispering comforting words in her eyes. When Sana reached Tzuyu’s chest, Tzuyu gently grabbed Sana’s hands and stilled them.

As much as she wanted to enjoy this, she couldn’t stop thinking about her ship and crew members.

“What am I going to do?” Tzuyu whispered, looking out into the blue ocean.

“Hmm?” Sana looked up into Tzuyu’s eyes, feeling a pang of guilt when she saw sadness in them. “You… You want to leave this island?”

Sana felt sad. She’s never had someone actually wish to leave the island. Especially not after kissing them. There must be more to this woman if she could resist her… temptations.

“M-My crew needs me. I don’t even know if they’re alive… I don’t know what island I’m on and I can’t find help.” Tzuyu covered her face with her hands. “I won’t see my family ever again… I’ll never complete my dream of sailing across the world.” Sana looked at Tzuyu with a small smile. She sat up and grabbed Tzuyu’s hands, bringing them to her lap.

Sana rested her face on Tzuyu’s shoulder, breathing in her fresh ocean scent. She laid a soft kiss there and began humming a soft tune. Tzuyu suddenly felt sleepy.

“S-Sana?”

She lost consciousness once more.

“Captain!” Tzuyu opened her eyes and realized it was nighttime and she was in the waters. She frantically began to try to stay afloat as she looked up towards the ship in front of her.

“Someone toss her a rope!” Jihyo shouted from the deck. Chaeyoung quickly grabbed a long rope and tossed it overboard. Tzuyu coughed as water tried to enter . She quickly grabbed the rope in front of her and held on tightly.

“Heave!” Dahyun shouted. Everyone began pulling with all their might. Tzuyu felt her arms burn as she was slowly hauled upwards. When she made it close to the deck, Nayeon and Mina quickly grabbed her and pulled her back onto the ship.

“Captain! Are you okay? We heard a scream and quickly ran out. We didn’t see you and feared the worst,” Momo stated with concern in her eyes, “good thing Jihyo looked over the ship, we might have been too late to find you. It seems as though you lost consciousness for a moment there.”

Tzuyu looked around. “What day is it? How many days passed?”

Everyone looked at each other confused.

“What are you talking about? We just ate supper a few hours ago, remember? You told Jeongyeon to rest and decided to man the ship yourself,” Mina explained, she was concerned that Tzuyu may have hit her head on something as she fell into the water.

“I-I don’t understand… Where is she?” Tzuyu looked around.

“Where is who?”Nayeon asked, confused as everyone else.

Tzuyu looked at everyone’s faces. They looked terribly worried. She then looked up into the night sky. It was completely clear.

“There’s no storm…” Tzuyu whispered.

“Of course not. By my calculations, we should have steered clear from it,” Mina said.

Tzuyu shook her head. “I think I need some sleep, I’m… imagining things…” Everyone nodded and ushered Tzuyu to the quarterdeck where the Captain’s cabin was. Tzuyu sighed heavily as she laid on her bed. She turned over to her side and stared out of a porthole. The waters looked calm. Tzuyu couldn’t believe it. Did she dream the whole thing? Did she accidentally walk off the deck? If she lost consciousness, how did she not drown?

Tzuyu was about to close her eyes when she heard soft music. She snapped her eyes wide as she stared out the porthole.

All she saw was a large, blue fish tail disappearing into the dark ocean. Tzuyu stared for what felt like hours until the music faded away.

“I… I need some rest.” Tzuyu closed her eyes and quickly fell asleep.

Little did everyone know, a happy sea creature swam around in excited circles. Sana was quite pleased with herself and her noble actions.

“I guess I won’t shipwreck that one.”
