Epilogue - Two Months Later
ButterflyChou Tsushima sat alone in her apartment, the sounds of the city distant to her.
Surrounding the bed she sat on were four items:
The first was a half-drunk glass of whiskey.
The second was a newspaper with a lead story of Mental hospital burned to ground after massacre.
The third item was a certificate praising a certain journalist for "Excellence and Depth of Research".
And the final item was Chou's most recent article, decorated brightly by old pictures of smiling children and a horrific, bloody scene.
Chou hadn't wanted to go back into the building to see the carnage. But for some reason, she felt it was the right thing to do.
So she had gone back into that hellish place, this time surrounded by co-workers and police, and not being treated as a patient, but as a professional.
Of course, she hadn't looked very professional falling onto the ground sobbing when she saw the bodies littering the concrete floor of the main block.
Namjoon and Yoongi were probably shot at almost the same time. (Yoongi most likely was not in control at that time, but Chou didn't want to think that he died with that psycho Suga in charge.)
V and Jimin looked peaceful in death. It was the first and only time Chou had ever seen them not tortured by their demons.
The same bullet had gone through the hearts of Jin and Hopi.
And Jungkook lay alone, a few feet away from the rest of the group, still with a hint of a grin on his face.
Chou found out that Namjoon and Jungkook had younger siblings. She met the both of them and gave her condolences.
V's mother, dressed in black and looking so much older than her age, sought Chou out herself. At the first greeting, the widow and childless mother started crying, tears rolling down her sunken cheeks. She told Chou what her Taehyung had been like before the accident that killed his best friend. He had been a practical joker and a goof that everyone had loved. Tearfully, she handed Chou a picture of him in middle school and left. Chou had never seen or heard from her since.
Hopi had no family left.
The remainder of Jimin's family was nowhere to be found.
No one came forth saying they had known Yoo
