Chapter 17
ButterflySomething was about to happen.
Chou didn't know why she knew. Maybe it was the feeling in the air, maybe it was the way the boys were nervously looking around.
"Jungkook!" she called out when she saw him quickly pass by her cell.
He came back. "Yeah?"
"What's going on?" she asked.
He nervously combed his hair with his hands. "You feel it too? Like something bad's about to happen?"
She nodded. "You don't know?"
He shook his head. "I don't. All I know is it feels like something's wrong."
Chou's spirits weren't lifted by this new information. "Where is everyone? Is somebody doing something strange?"
Jungkook laughed, out of all things. "What, butterfly? Don't you trust us freaks?"
Chou glared at him. He stopped laughing. "O-kay, then. Don't take it personally..." he muttered.
He raised his voice back to normal level. "Jin went back to his normal state of never leaving his cell and not socializing with anyone. Hopi is doing... whatever the hell he's doing, Yoongi is outside the block doing some sort of therapy- which I bet is just going great, he hates that nurse, Namjoon is bored without Yoongi to bother, Jimin is obsessively drawing a girl, probably his sister, on the walls of his cell, V is brutally destroying an apple that has a face with his nails and teeth, and I'm talking to you. So nothing is really out of the ordinary, it just feels that way."
Chou stared at him, confused about how the boy knew so much.
"What?" he asked. "I'm bored. I've walked around this block a few times today."
He shook his head and walked away from her cell. "Know what's weird?" he called over this shoulder. "I kinda miss everything being wrong... it was at least interesting."
Chou had to agree.
Eventually, she grew tired of just sitting in her cell and started walking around the block, running her left hand across the wall. The rough material burned her hand after a while, but it was strangely reassuring to have the feeling of the concrete keeping her. It was as if she was protected from the outside world, even though she knew the real dangers were just feet away from her with no concrete wall separating them. That was until the concrete turned into cold metal doors.
