The Shoebox LettersAugust 2005
Hello Yonghwassi,
It’s nice to hear from you. I didn’t really think you’d write me a letter as you promised. Thank you for keeping your promise, I really appreciate it. It suddenly feels weird to be using paper and pen to write again, while 80% of the population has emails and mobile phones, we get to have this. I think it’s really special since we put more effort in it. I had to ask ajumma to buy me stamps. She looked at me like I’ve gone crazy. Hahahaha. Yes, summer camp was fun, it was a first for me also. I love it, being away from my family for the time being, being away from my impeccable family, especially my incredible sister. Besides, my parents won’t miss an imperfect daughter such as me. I remembered when we were younger, we both went to a ballet class, I had to stay behind an extra hour because I can’t seem to get the steps and flow of the dance right, my mother would look at me like she’s embarrassed of me because she and my sister has to wait for me. Shinhye, my unnie, I love her very much but I can’t help but resent her simply because I can never like be her. An sadly maybe that’s why my parents resent me too…. This letter suddenly became a drama anthology. Sorry!!
Are you excited for the start of school year? I me
