She’s probably the best wingman in town, but she’s not just a wingman, she’s also the match maker, a Dr. Love. She’s good with matching people together, helping someone to get a girl, good with getting a couple back to each other and a love expert. She never fails, NEVER. 10/10 she matched them all.

However, she’s a single and also hopeless romantic. Her friends jokingly calls her God because of unfailing match making. Chaeyoung had match mostly her friends.

One of it was Nayeon and Momo. Momo had the hugest crush on Nayeon but was too afraid to even approach the older girl. She seek help from Chaeyoung and then the girl worked her magic.

There are instances that effort is needed to set them up together but there are also times that she just introduce them to each other and then BAM! Love at its finest. For Nayeon and Momo, Chaeyoung had to put effort. Knowing Nayeon (Her childhood unnie), She’s very picky and really aggressive, different from momo who’s actually a fluff ball. Unknowingly, they matched perfectly, Momo’s affection made Nayeon soft and Momo gained confidence from Nayeon.

 

 

Nayeon snuggled closer to Momo, giggling. As Shy turned protector, Momo’s arms are around Nayeon’s shoulder becoming oh-so cutest couple in the café.

“I can’t believe you a monster like you become soft because of a peach” Chaeyoung said to Nayeon, chuckling.

“I want to smack you right now for calling monster but I’m still thankful you introduced as together” The eldest said, feeling thankful.

Momo then giggled and kissed Nayeon softly

Chaeyoung feels proud playing good match maker. She won’t even agree to Momo if she knows it won’t work. Her hard work of setting them up together had paid off.

 

 

 

Chaeyoung looked at them and smiled. The couple hand in hand greeted her as they walk pass each other. She’s satisfied.

Another one was Dahyun and Sana. Dahyun was her friend, she said she wanted to have a girl friend or someone to date and Sana was someone Chaeyoung knew from work. Well, she just introduced them to each other, it turns out Sana fell love at first sight with dahyun. It was ridiculous to even think, Chaeyoung never expected it but it did happen. Sometimes, she regrets introducing them each other, now she have to deal with the two of them every day but can love be stopped? Not at all.

 

“Dahyun, this is Sana. Sana, this is Dahyun” Chaeyoung introduced the two girls in her side to each other.

Chaeyoung swears she can see sparks in both of their eyes right after they saw each other. Maybe this isn’t her match making skills but probably they’re just really meant for each other.

Weeks had passed and they’re already together.

 

Chaeyoung chuckles in the thought of her friend and co-worker.

 

 

It didn’t stop there, there were a lot more she set up together, mostly people she knows like Jeongyeon her childhood unnie and her school mate Bona, , Yuha her school senior and Minkyung her neighbour, Nayoung another of her senior before and Pinky her manager in the resto bar. But to the fact that she’s a great match maker, how come she can’t match herself to someone?

“Don’t worry, I’ll introduce her to you. She’s great, trust me” Jeongyeon supposedly be helping Mina with her love life, but knowing better, she remembered Chaeyoung.

“Come on” The short haired girl said as she pulled Mina.

They entered a decent Resto-Bar where Chaeyoung work as a part time bartender at night.

“Hey bro!”

Chaeyoung looked back, stopping from what she was doing. She spotted Jeongyeon nearing with a girl. She smiled.

 

“Hey! Being friends with you for a long time I didn’t know you’re a womanizer” She teased

“No, stupid! I’m introducing her to you. This is Mina”

Chaeyoung reached for Mina’s hand trying to initiate a hand shake as she shows her smile that can kill. Mina accepted it, she felt the other girl’s soft hand against hers and shook it.

“I need you to help her to set up a blind date”

Chaeyoung raised her eyebrow.

“Come on! I’ll pay you”

“You know I don’t get paid. I do it if I insist”

“Alright, how about this. I treat you lunch for a month. Sounds great? Come on! I need to help my friend. This penguin here will end up being single her whole life if I don’t get her a date” Jeongyeon whines.

“Hey!” Mina defended

She smiled apologically

“Ok fine, I’ll set her a blind date” Chaeyoung said as she proceed doing some cocktails.

“Thank you Miss Chaeyoung” Mina shyly thanked her.

“That’s no problem Miss Mina, trust me I won’t set you up with a ert or a freak” The younger girl winked that made Mina smile.

“Ok cool! Thank you Chaeng! We’ll be going” Jeongyeon bids good bye.

“Oh wait! I need to get Mina’s number!”

“Really??” Mina asked

“Yeah, I need to text you for your blind date tomorrow. It’ll be in the café where I work during the day just so I can keep an eye with you two, in case of problem I can save the day”

“Oh, right”

They exchanged numbers before the two left the resto bar.

Next day comes, it was the day of Mina’s blind date. She’s now sitting in of the chairs of the café where Chaeyoung reserved exclusively for her and her date.

The match maker have mentioned about her date being really tall, intelligent and romantic.

Mina waited for her date. She glanced at Chaeyoung who was in the counter doing her barista duties. The younger girl noticed and smiled at her for comfort.

 

“Hey, are you by chance Myoui Mina?” Mina turned her attention to the girl.

She smiled.  “Yes it is me”

The girl smiled widely. “I’m Tzuyu, Chou Tzuyu” She said as they shake hands.

The date went on and Chaeyoung saw that they were having fun. Truly a good match maker.

“I’ll see you next time?” Tzuyu seems to offer another date.

“Sure, I’ll see you”

 

Mina and Tzuyu’s dates continued, learning new things from each other. Of course Chaeyoung kept an eye on them, she promised Jeongyeon to check the progress. The date actually reached 3 weeks, Mina and Chaeyoung also became friends, a close one.

 

“So how was the date today?” Chaeyoung asked

“It was good, as usual” Mina responds

“I told you I’ll give you a great blind date, I’m really good with match making”

“Yeah yeah. You’re so full of yourself Son Chaeyoung” The older girl said in defeat as they sip their coffee. It was Chaeyoung’s day off so they decided to hangout.

Mina giggles, showing her gummy teeth.

Chaeyoung stared in amazement, she unknowingly smiled. Mina was too beautiful in her eyes.

“Chaeyoung, you’re staring”

The cub woke up from her admiration and think of an excuse

“I just- you look like a penguin” She awkwardly chuckles

“Chaeyoung! You always tease me” Mina pouts

“You just really look cute when you sulk” Chaeyoung held her laughter from seeing home cute Mina looks when she sulks and pout in front of her. She covered , preventing to laugh.

 

Why did Chaeyoung even set her up to someone else, she thought.

This was Mina and Tzuyu’s 13^th date since they met, usually they go out for lunch or dinner in different restaurants or café but most of the time they meet in the café where Chaeyoung works as Mina requested.

Today seems different. Tzuyu entered the café but a bouquet in her hand, smiling widely. They talked, date went on as usual. Chaeyoung felt a slight pang of jealousy. She thought, how come the first time she have liked someone, she set her up with someone else?

Disappointed with everything, she continued her work and made herself busy.

 

After Mina and Tzuyu’s date, the tall girl hugged Mina and left first.

 

“Hey” Mina greeted.

“Oh hey”

“You sound different” She asked, suspicious.

“It’s nothing, I’m just tired. Do you want me to walk you home?” She offered

“That would be nice. I’ll wait for you” Mina gave a sincere smile that Chaeyoung loves seeing.

 

Chaeyoung was off from work an hour after and they started to walk.

“How was today?” it was usually what she ask to Mina but this time it sounded different to Mina.

“It was alright, as usual. The difference is that she asked me to officially date” Mina answered

“What did you say?” Chaeyoung obviously sounded upset.

Mina didn’t answer, she ignored Chaeyoung question and asked her instead. “Say Chaeyoung; you’re a great match maker you said”

The shorter girl hums in agreement

“How come you didn’t match yourself to anyone?”

“I didn’t want to? I can’t match myself. I need to feel it myself”

“Have you felt it?” Mina looked at Chaeyoung, curiosed.

“Maybe” she answered shortly

“What do you mean?”

“Have you heard about wrong choices?”

“Of course”

“I probably made a wrong choice. I did something before knowing I like her” a hint of disappointment in her tone was noticeable. Chaeyoung started accept that she made a wrong choice, Mina and Tzuyu seems to match each other perfectly. Mina probably said yes to Tzuyu.

Chaeyoung faced Mina. They both stopped walking.

“Now, you haven’t answered my question”

Mina blinks

“What was your answer to Tzuyu?”

“I rejected her”

Chaeyoung was taken aback from Mina’s answer. She didn’t expect it. Chaeyoung felt confused, they seems to like each other, and they had fun with their dates. She don’t understand.

“What? But why?”

 

Mina didn’t answer. Chaeyoung was still waiting.

 

“Because I like you” Then she left and walked away, leaving the dumbfounded Chaeyoung with agape.

 

It took time before she processed Mina’s words in her brain

With a huge smile on her face and butterflies in her stomach, she runs after Mina.

 

 

Goddamn! She chuckles while catching up with Her.
