A Hard DayJackson walked home by himself like every night. He used to walk with Namjoon, but they stopped doing that when the younger moved to the other side of the neighborhood. The two used to live on the same street, but Namjoon couldn't afford his old apartment any longer and was forced to move. It was better for him. Though Jackson missed the complay from his friend. He sighed, pulling his headphones from his pocket. He plugged them into his phone and started up the song that he was listening to earlier. It was the new single from his favorite idol, M.T. He had waited for a long time to get this song, saving up the extra money he didn't use for his mother to pay for it. Jackson constantly listened to this song. It spoke to him in ways he couldn't explain. It was his favorite out of all the songs M.T had made and Jackson would always find time to listen to it.
"I'm home." Jackson called, walking through the entryway of his house. He slipped his shoes off, pushing them to the side with his mother's.
"Welcome back, sweetie." His mother called from the living room. His mother, Sophia, stayed at home most of the time, watching Jackson's father on sports shows. Sometimes she liked to go out shoping with friends. Her doctor advised her to not push herself, but she was hard-headed, which Jackson took after, and did what she felt like. Jackson went to the living room. He sat down on the couch next to his mother. He smiled at her, wrapping his arms softly around her. After a long day at work Jackson loved coming home to see his mother. Many people had called him a momma's boy, but that wasn't the case. He never knew how much time he had with his mom, seeing as how sick she had gotten lately. He really just wanted to be close to her as much as could.
Jackson fell asleep on the couch after spending some time with his mother. Sophia smiled down at her son. She wished that he wouldn't work so hard. She and her husband would find a way to take care of the medical bills, but she knew that Jackson would have none of that. She moved the blanket from the back of the couch on top of Jackson. She gave him a quick kiss before getting up and going to her room.
