A Hard DayMark watched Jackson as they waited for the flight to be called out. The younger had gotten on the phone with someone. Mark could barely only understand what they were saying. They were speaking in Mandarin. Mark could only catch a few words: love, home, father, and work. He wished he knew what Jackson was talking about. He hadn't been practicing his Mandarin, he had been away from home for too long. Jackson hung up with a sigh. He wished he could've said goodbye to his mother in person but there was no way he would've ben able to leave home at that point. He slumped in the seat. Mark turned to Jackson, pulling his mask down slightly. "Is everything okay?" Jackson shrugged. He didn't want to explain to Mark, but there was no way he could get out of this. Not with the way Mark was looking at him. He could tell the older wanted to help him out.
"It's just my mother. She's going to be at home by herself for a few days and it hard to leave her on her own. She says she can do it, but I worry about her." Mark nodded. He didn't know what to do. He had never been in that position before. His mother was healthy, his father came home after work and his younger brother was a good kid. He never had to help his mother out with anything, she could do it for herself. He didn't know how to make Jackson feel better.
"I'm sorry. Things will get better." Jackson smiled sadly. He knew Mark's heart was in the right place, but his words were not. He didn't know about things like this. Jackson had listened to everything that the older had said on any interview he's ever done. He never struggled with anything in his life. At least he didn't say it out loud. Maybe, that's what he hid in the closet. Everything bad from his past.
"Thanks Mark. I'm sure it will." Mark smiled at him. He couldn't tell what it was about the younger, but he didn't feel the need to mess with him like his other managers. It was a strange feeling and he didn't quiet care for it.
"Flight K-23 now boarding, zone 16." Jackson sighed, standing up. The quicker they left the earlier he could be back home with his mother. That was a day he dreamed of before they had even left. It was going to be a long week.
