The Feelings Are Mutual
It was right after Radio Star that ACE was immediately ushered out from the broadcasting building into their van. Following their tight and hectic schedule, the girls are expected to arrive at SM building to record a special edition of their newest single for their fans by midnight. It was supposed to be a surprise, again, for everyone and Luhan is trying her best not to lose her mind.
Xiumin is older so she won’t be a problem as she can take care of herself relatively well. It was the rest of the members that the leader is worried about. Baekhyun is tough and cheerful on the outside but she is really sensitive regarding her relationship with a certain EXO member. Well, Yixing is skipping meals for the nth time and Luhan is getting bored with nagging the younger to rest and eat on time. As for maknae Kyungsoo, even though she’s the youngest, she is the busiest among the members with a dozens of movie and drama offers (Aside from the busy routine, Kyungsoo is also a teenager in her emo phase which worried Luhan to no end because that means the younger would probably keep all problems to herself).
In moments like this, with the company pressuring them almost 24/7, with sasaeng following closely wherever they go and with the entertainment industry watching their every move, Luhan found it very hard to stay sane. Sometimes keeping the members in check doesn’t mean Luhan can keep up with her own condition.
Two hours later and they are still stuck in the seemingly never ending traffic. It would have been pretty okay if it weren’t for the noisy honking sound from other vehicles and manager’s obnoxious humming in the car. The night sky was already filled with twinkling stars and Luhan looked up from the window to admire the rare occasion. It’s been awhile since she could do nothing and just enjoy the slow car ride. The precious silence in the car right now is almost impossible as she is currently living with four other lively members and crowded with millions of fans.
Kyungsoo, Yixing and Xiumin had fallen asleep at the back row of the car while Baekhyun, who was sitting with Luhan on the second row, had been quietly snoring herself to sleep long ago and mouth still agape. Luhan turned to her co-member and took a snap of Baekhyun’s sleeping face. Without a second thought, she sent it to Chanyeol while cackling to herself.
Not a minute had passed, Luhan received more than ten chats from the male.

Luhan smiled to herself and locked her phone. Chanyeol is weird and Luhan doesn’t know the reason why Baekhyun would even consider him as her boyfriend. The traffic had gone better and the car is now speeding through the highway. She turned around to find Yixing already awake while yawning loudly.
“Hi, xing. Had a nice nap?” she asked.
The younger nodded slowly and patted her cheeks a few times to stay awake. In a matter of minutes they managed to arrive at the SM building safely. Baekhyun was jerked awake when Luhan tickled her sides that made her open her eyes real wide. The younger cursed under her breath and collected her stuff before jumping out of the car to follow the manager inside.
“Minmin, wake up,” Luhan softly whispered as the leader nudged Xiumin awake. “Baby Soo, wake up. We need to record and after that we get to sleep all we want.” Kyungsoo’s head was resting on Xiumin’s shoulder and both of them had a hard time waking up. The youngest rubbed her eyes tiredly and tried to stretch her body. The four of them finally made it out of the car and joined Baekhyun inside the recording studio.

Luhan coughed a few times and gained the members’ attention
Xiumin went over to the kitchen and brought a glass of lukewarm water for Luhan. The leader accepted it gratefully and gulped the contents in no time. Kyungsoo turned off the TV she was watching to look at Luhan with concern. “Are you okay?”
“Could have been better,” Luhan rasped as is kinda burning but she doesn’t tell the members that. “But I’m okay. I just need some vitamins or supplements.”
The song had been recorded successfully last night and ACE had been given a day off after that, waiting for the song to be released tonight. Today would be spent at the dorm doing completely nothing. They would only need to promote by fanmeetings and fansign which are in a week or two. Luhan thanked the heavens that she doesn’t need to sing another high note anymore or she would lose her voice completely.
Yixing had stopped strumming her guitar and went over to where Luhan was. She placed a palm on the leader’s forehead and quickly retrieved her hand right after that. “Jie, you’re burning up!”
Luhan frowned and tried to check her own temperature by placing her own palms to her face. “I’m not,” she replied.
“That’s because your hand is also hot as hell. Use this,” Baekhyun strutted over with a thermometer in her hand. Luhan snatched it away and quickly checked her temperature. The other four members had gather around and circle the leader. Luhan, who was sitting on the couch, jumped in her seat when the thermometer began beeping obnoxiously.

“I’m completely fine guys, look!” Luhan showed the numbers to her members.
“Honey, you’re having a fever. Normal human temperature is 37. You’re nearing 39 and that is not good.” Baekhyun glared at Luhan.
“You always skip your meals!” Kyungsoo said exasperatedly.
“You never sleep before others do and that’s not healthy. You’ve been losing sleep…” it was Xiumin’s turn to nag. “Not to mention that you always stayed up all night for the training session.”
“I told you not to overwork yourself. We are grown ups, jie. You don’t need to fuss over us every time of the day.” Yixing mumbled guiltily as she had been one of Luhan’s greatest worry these days.
Baekhyun went to the cupboard to place the thermometer back. “If I were to tell this to Sehun he would probably fly back from Shanghai right now and force fed you with tons of food.
This is the first time in a few years since Luhan fell sick. Well, she did feel so tired these days. Maybe taking a break would be good since today is free and stuff.
“Fine, I’m gonna go to sleep. Don’t worry about me and do what you guys usually do.”
Before she reaches her shared room with Xiumin, Luhan was forced to drink a lot of medicine. The drug helps the insomnia she’s suffering so once she made it to bed, the world suddenly stop spinning and she was welcomed into dreamland.

Luhan doesn’t seem to pay attention as she tried to stay awake and glared at the clock in the kitchen. She gave up and opted to ask Yixing instead.
“it’s 9 in the morning. Our song will be released in 3 hours.”
With a nod, Luhan went back to her half-conscious state and began coughing lightly. The fever had calmed down last night but her sore threat isn’t. She heard heavy steps coming from the living room but that doesn’t pique any of her interest as she drank her cup of cough syrup.
“Did I or did I not tell you about getting enough rest?”
Everyone should have known that Oh Sehun isn’t going to let this problem go so easily. With head to toe black attire, Luhan thought she was looking at Grim reaper. Sehun stepped inside the kitchen with a sigh and dropped the big plastic bag on the kitchen counter.
“I thought you’re in Shanghai…”
“Got back yesterday.”
“Chanyeol said that you guys were practicing last night? What about the fanmeeting?”
“We were practicing for another event coming, the event with HatsOn ended in the afternoon. Stop talking, it will hurt you even more.”
Sehun threw his cap on the floor and began arranging the things he brought with him. “I bought traditional Chinese medicine. It will be a bit bitter but the effect is faster than usual drug.”
The guy looked pissed off to say the least so Luhan kept mum not to cause Sehun to lash out. Out of everyone, Sehun had been the person who will constantly remind Luhan about having enough rest and consuming nutritional food on daily basis. ‘Being a leader is hard, you need more energy.’ That was his motto and quotes to her.
Luhan stared blankly as Sehun curled up the sleeves of his black sweater and began pouring the content of various herbals into a pot. He seemed like an expert in this as he stirred some leaves into the boiling water. None of them questioned the sudden disappearance of the rest members as the kitchen was filled with silence. Sehun didn’t seem to be in a good mood by seeing his expression and Luhan learned not to pry.
After a few minutes of complete silence, Sehun turned around with a steaming pot in his hand and walked to the dining table where Luhan had been silently watching. He took a spoon with him and offered it to Luhan.
“The shop owner said that you need to eat slowly and let the herbals do the job.”
“Thanks,” she replied quietly.
Luhan began digging in, thinking of the medicine as breakfast instead. Well, the soup is painfully bitter but Sehun was quick to offer a glass of water. Even though it feels like her tongue is going to be numb, Luhan continued slurping the content as the male kept his eyes on her.
“I was worried.”
It wasn’t what Luhan was expecting but she turned to face Sehun.
“You never get sick before. You didn’t even call or text me about it. I told you to stop acting so strong when you clearly aren’t.”
“Baek updated her instagram I suppose?”
Sehun glared at her, “at least she had the decency to tell me even though indirectly.”
“Sorry,” she answered sheepishly and continued consuming the medicine. Sehun didn’t seem to be that mad anymore. “Next time, tell me okay?”
Luhan nodded.
“Now eat it before its cold.”

Yixing, Xiumin, Kyungsoo and Baekhyun were hiding behind the wall of their living room to spy on the two people in the kitchen.
“I bet ten bucks that they’ll start dating at the end of the year.” Kyungsoo said.
Xiumin whispered discreetly, “No, Sehun is a dense prick. He wouldn’t know ‘bout his feelings until it slapped him right in the face. It’ll take more than a mere six months. I say next year.”
“Even though they like each other, Sehun and Luhan love their fans too much. They’ll postpone it as long as possible,” Yixing mumbled as she saw how Sehun had pressed his palm on the leader’s forehead.
Baekhyun, being the most experienced, clucked her tongue in distaste. “I bet all my fortunes that they would stay in that stupid bestfriendzone if someone doesn’t do something about it. Both of them are idiots.”
