We headed out into the city towards a weapon shop. The owner was our good friend, Martin. We made a promise that we would come and help protect his shop if anything happened, and we did sometimes. We walked quickly towards his shop. I Turned my head to the right and saw a man yelling at a woman. She was very upset and she cried, saying something between sobs. He continued to yell at her. I Stopped walking and we slowly crept up on them. He raised his hand to hit her, and that’s when I Interfered. He swung his hand down, but it never touched her face. She had closed her eyes, but when she realized that he never hit her, she opened her eyes. The man turned around and looked at me angrily. “Don’t get in my way!” He roared. He swung his hand and whipped me to the ground. I Kicked him with all of my might in his stomach and he stumbled back, catching his breath. I Took that chance to sock him in the jaw and then I Punched him in the jaw again. He fell backwards. I Took out Wicked and twirled it between my fingers and then stabbed the dirt right next to the man’s head. He looked at the blade and saw his reflection. He looked scared as he looked at me. Ileaned in towards him. “Don’t you ever hit that woman again, or else the next time Imeet you, you won’t see your reflection anymore. You’d have to cross your eyes, got it?” He nodded quickly and Ripped Wicked from the ground and stuck it back in it’s carrier on my hip. He got up quickly and walked backwards, looking at me fearfully before he turned around and sprinted down the road. I Walked to the woman and she shrunk back in fear. I Smiled at her, telling her it’s alright. “Don’t let him hit you. Get yourself some help.” Was all I Said before I Turned around and rejoined Namjoon, JungKook and Jimin  . We continued to walk down the path to the weapon shop and I Could feel the woman’s stare on my back. I Closed my eyes, and then opened them. The feeling was no longer there. We walked down the path in silence until we reached Martin’s shop. The shop was actually a small candy store, and the weapon shop was hidden secretly in the back. Martin had most of his employees in the front, and then 1 or 2 of them in the back. All of the girls in the front and then the big guys in the back. Martin was a  short, non muscular Hispanic man. He was very sarcastic, but was very serious when it was time to get to work. Iopened the door to the candy store and stepped inside. Instantly, Smelled the sweet aromas of the candy. Behind me, Namjoon, Jimin  and JungKook’s eyes lightened up when they say all of the candy. They whispered amongst themselves and stepped up to the glass jars filled with all types of candy and they smiled. I Saw Jimin  rubbing his stomach and Namjoon scratching his head, most likely thinking about whether or not to buy something. I Cleared my throat impatiently and they all turned their heads to look at me. Immediately, they rushed back to get behind me and brushed themselves off. Then they stood tall, trying to look mature and making a face that said, “I Totally do not want any candy…” and I Stood there with a hand on my hips in disapproval. “Stop acting like little boys.” Pivoted on my left foot and walked to the curtain leading to the back of the store. I Looked back at one of the employees and they nodded at me. They were already acquainted with us, and they knew why we were here most of the time, unless we actually wanted candy. I Gave JungKook a sideways glance as he put his hand on one of the jars. He looked up and saw me staring at him, and he quickly moved away from the jar, looking a bit disappointed and sad. I Pushed the curtains aside and continued walking. Finally, when we reached the end of the hall, we turned the corner and I Spotted a gray metal door with several locks on it. I Knocked loudly on the door and the eye slot opened. First, there was no one there, but then I Heard something from the other side. Martine popped up suddenly and peered into the eye slot. He knew instantly who we were and he got down from a chair he was standing on. Yeah, he’s that short.  The door swung open and Martin greeted us with a smile. “Hey guys!” He waved at us. We walked into the weapon shop. “Anything new?” I Asked Martin while I Was looking at the hand pistol section. “Yes!” He quickly walked to the back of the store and he stood in front of a door. He entered a passcode so fast, his hands were a blur and then the door opened slowly with a hiss, as the air passed through. Me, Namjoon, Jimin  and JungKook all came to inspect what was behind this door. “Behold.” Martin let us in. “My finest weaponry. These are very high tech and powerful weapons. Tell me if you need any help.” Martin said proudly. JungKook stared in awe at 2 matching gold tinted pistols. Namjoon ran his hand along the beautifully crafted case of a sword. Jimin  inspected new spy gear. Finally, I Walked to the end of the display hall and a single light shined on the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. I Walked up to it’s cage, and I Could feel the hairs on my back stand up. It was dark in the cage, nut I Could still see it perfectly. As I Approached it, I Put my hands on the bars of the cage. It opened it’s eyes and growled. A golden tiger. Gōrudentaigā. I Heard Martin come up behind me. “This is Kēki .” He said. Kēki lifted her head and she stared at me. Somehow, there was no fear that clutched my heart. “Do you wish to see her?” Martin asked me. He walked slowly to the cage and he retrieved a ring of keys from his pocket. I Hesitated before nodding. “Yes.” I Replied and I Walked over to Martin as well. He unlocked the cage and Isaw Kēki look up in our direction. She stood up on her legs, but didn’t move yet. “Kēki . This is Selena.” Martin introduced me to the tiger, which honestly I Thought was ridiculous since tigers can’t talk. I Carefully walked to Kēki , and then a hint of fear appeared. My legs started to shake and my breaths came out a bit shorter. Kēki greeted Martin before carefully walking over to me. I Held my breath as she came up and sniffed my hand. I Thought she was going to eat it, because I Lost sight of my hand and Started to panic. I Felt her rough tongue against my palm. I Held back a scream, and Martin came to my side and put his hand on my shoulder. “It’s okay. She’s just smelling your hand.” Kēki looked up at me. I Stared into her brown eyes. Then I Leaned down and slowly patted her head. She purred softly and then rolled her massive body. She laid on her back and Rubbed her belly. She closed her eyes, as if saying, “Oh yeah. That feels so good. Thanks.” I Saw out of the corner of eye that JungKook, Namjoon and Jimin  were looking at me in bewilderment. I Smiled at them. Namjoon peered into the cage. “Are you seriously petting that 350 pound tiger?” Namjoon said with fear. I Nodded happily. “She’s so sweet!” I Cried. I Hugged Kēki . She was very warm and she let me hug her. Martin chuckled. “I Guess she likes you, huh? Do you want to keep her?” I Nodded, but then had second thoughts. “What would she eat?” I Asked Martin. He thought for a second, turning his back from me. Then he turned around. “She can eat any meat, and she prefers meat. But if meat isn’t available at the moment, she can eat some fruits or vegetables.” He nodded and then smiled at me again. Kēki rested her head on my thigh. I Petted her head while talking to Martin. “She’s got all of this hair. Do you think she’ll be cold?” I Asked him worriedly. Each passing moment, I Thought of so many bad things that could happen to Kēki , but I Shook my head to shake out all of those bad ideas. Martin nodded. “Maybe. If it’s really cold out, just get her a blanket. Then she’ll be fine. But if you feel like she needs a blanket, then give her one.” Martin walked out of the cage and then came in with Kēki ’a blanket, a bag of treats, and a bite toy. He handed me all of it. “Kēki ’s blanket, toy and some of her favorite treats.” After I Packed everything, Martin squatted down next to me. “Look, Selena. Kēki is trained and she’s very smart. If you want to teach her something, then do it. She seems to like you a lot. But please, take care of her. She’s a real sweetheart. Will you promise me that?” Martin asked me concernedly. I Nodded. “Si.” He smiled at me before hugging Kēki . “You’re going to be with Selena now, okay Kēki ? Be safe, Kēki . Ilove you.” I Stood in silence as I Watched Martin hug his tiger friend Then he stood up and Kēki stood up with him. She followed him out the door and when we exited her dark cage, JungKook, Namjoon and Jimin  jumped. “W-what?! Why are we keeping him-her? Are you crazy Selena? That’s a freaking full grown tiger!” Namjoon yelled in protest at me frantically. JungKook jumped up and down like a monkey. “What if she eats us in the middle of the night!?” He screeched. Jimin  swung his arms in random directions. “What use is this tiger?! It’s a wild animal! You’ll never fully tame it!” He cried. I Waited until they settled down but they continued to blurt annoying questions, and it got on my nerves. I Clenched my fists tightly. “Shut up!”Roared. Kēki looked back at me and then glared at Jimin  , Namjoon and JungKook. They all hushed quickly and hugged each other, leaning away from the tiger. “Oh stop it. She’s so adorable.” I Said. Ipatted Kēki ’s head and she her lips in comfort. Then I Scowled at my team. “Look, she’s going to be really helpful, okay? She’s more than a tiger. She’s a killing machine when she is told to, but she can be just like a little kitten. We’ll feed her often, but I Don't think she’ll eat any one of us. Start building a relationship with Kēki now and then she’ll actually start to care about you. She’s been trained and she’s smarter than any other tiger I’ve ever seen. She’ll look out for you, so you better look out for her. Got that?” I Asked Namjoon, JungKook and Jimin  . They nodded quickly, and they stared at me. “Well? Come and say hi!” I Pointed to Kēki . They all looked scared out of their minds, but Namjoon took a step forward, until he reached Kēki ’s face. “H-hello…Kēki …” He stammered. He reached out to pat's hand and she leaned forward so that he could reach her. He flinched and pulled back slightly, but then when he realized that Kēki didn’t want to rip him to shreds, he seemed to calm down a little. “She’s…alright.” Namjoon said. I Saw a small smile creep onto his face. “Alright.” I Clapped my hands. “Next.” I Ordered JungKook and Jimin  . They both looked at each other. Namjoon moved over to Martin and began whispering some stuff to him. JungKook pushed Jimin  forward but Jimin  immediately took a step back and pushed JungKook forward. Since JungKook wa a little bit shorter than Jimin  , he stumbled forward farther than Jimin  did. There was no turning back and he gulped. He shrunk back in fear as he walked super slowly to Kēki . He put his hand out, palm facing up towards Kēki and she sniffed it. JungKook closed his eyes and looked away as if Kēki was about to eat his hand. She began his hand instead, and her tail wagged. JungKook let out a small chuckle and Kēki ’s tongue tickled his hand. Then he walked closer to Kēki and began scratching the back of her big ears. She seemed to like that a lot and she closed her eyes, relaxing. I Clapped my hands. “Alright, that’s enough. You’re last Jimin  .” He gulped and nodded at me. Then he drew in a deep breath and walked confidently towards Kēki . He abruptly stuck out his hand and let Kēki sniff it. Isaw a bit of confusion in Kēki ’s eyes, as if she were saying, “What is this idiot doing? He was about to pee his pants a minute ago and now he acts so brave?” I Snorted as I Saw Jimin  ’s legs shaking. When Kēki accepted him, he let out his breath and laughed. “She’s so cute.” He said. Kēki rolled onto her back and Jimin  rubbed her stomach. We all laughed. “Okay.” I Told Jimin  . Kēki and Jimin  stood up at the same time and everyone looked at me “It’s time to head out. Thank you Martin, for everything.” He nodded. “You can take the other weapons you were looking at.” Martin told JungKook, Namjoon and Jimin  . They cheered and ran over to the weapons and lifted them off of their metal holders. “Sweet!” They all pumped their fists in the air. “Alright! Let’s go!” I Patted Kēki ’s head and he followed us out. As I Closed the door behind me, I Saw Martin waving at Kēki . I Felt a pang of sadness as we left him there alone. I Bent down to Kēki ’s face and hugged her. “I’m sorry, Kēki . I Didn't mean to take you out like that and away from Martin but you can’t be locked up in that cage forever.” She stared into my eyes sadly. “It’s better this way.” I Told her. Then I Stood up and we continued to walk outside. When we were all assembled outside of the candy shop, I Pulled out my GPS and checked the distance we still needed to travel from here to Dead Silence. It was 3 miles away. “Alright. 3 miles, guys.” I Told GED. (Stands for Namjoon, Jimin  , and JungKook.) They nodded and we continued to walk in silence. Kēki walked slowly next to me and Namjoon. It was very dark outside, because it was probably in the middle of the night. I Checked the time on my watch. It was 11:30 p.m. I Looked over my shoulder and I Saw JungKook whispering somethings to Jimin  , and their movements beginning to get sloppy and sluggish. I Walked in front of everybody and held up a hand to stop them. “Alright. It’s really late already. Let’s find a place to camp out for the night.” They all nodded and got to work. We searched for a place to sleep amongst the abandoned houses. We we’re almost out of the city, but sleeping in a house was better than sleeping on dirt. We found a very rundown, one room house. It probably wasn’t even a house, maybe it was a shop. We stepped inside and made a little camp in the corner of the room. I ped a pocket on my pack and Unrolled Kēki ’s blankets. She seemed very pleased to see them, and when I Laid them out on the floor, she immediately sat on it and rested. I Gave her a couple of treats to satisfy her hunger for now. Then all of us grabbed our blankets and slept right next to each other. I Sat next to Kēki and Namjoon. He the right side of his body. “Are you cold?” He asked me. He offered to lend me some of his blanket but I Denied the offer. “I’m fine, thank you.” I Told him with a tired smile. Then I Whispered loudly to all of them. “Good night.” And we shifted into comfortable positions to sleep for the night. Kēki ’s face was not to far from mine, and I Could feel her breathing against my arm. I Smiled and closed my eyes. When I Woke up, Kēki was still asleep. I Didn't want to move, but I Had to. I Sat up quietly, and everyone was still asleep. I Looked outside, and it was still partly dark. I Grabbed my watch from my pack and checked the time. I Squinted as the watch’s light and I Read the watch. It was 4:52 a.m. I Felt Namjoon move next to me. I Was going to put my watch away, but he grabbed my hand from behind and looked at it. “4:52. Why did you wake up so early?” He asked with sleepiness. His warm chest pressed against my back. I Dropped the watch and looked at his face over my shoulder. He smiled at me. “Good morning.” He said. “Good morning.” I Whispered back. Kēki awoke and began my hand, telling me she was awake. I Giggled as she did so, but Namjoon nudged me and I Looked back at him. Ialready knew he liked me, and Iliked him back.So why did this feel so awkward? Maybe it was because we’ve been with each other all of our life. His arms s around my waist and he pulled me closer. “What are you thinking about?” He whispered in my ear. I Didn't hesitate for a second. “You…” Breathed. I Rolled into his arms and his hands moved down from my back. I Wanted to continue, but out of the corner of my eye I Saw JungKook getting up and rubbing his eyes. I Immediately got off Namjoon and brushed myself off. I Stood up and pretended that I Was brushing my hair. JungKook stood up also and looked at me. He smiled sweetly. It melted my heart. “Good morning, Selena.” He said. I Smiled back at him. “Good morning, JungKook.” We nodded at each other and then I Walked over to my pack. Namjoon was staring at me while I Was getting Kēki ’s treats out. When I Took them out, she sat up and then looked at me happily. I Smiled and chuckled a little bit. She was so cute. I Gave her 3 large treats, which she quickly gobbled up. Then I Zipped them back up in my pack. Soon, everyone awoke and we got ready to go out. Then we packed up Kēki ’s blankets and headed out.
