Ice Cream Encounter

Because of Her

"Whoooaaa~~ Ice cream!" Jin, a member of BTS said as they entered.

There was a group of 7 boys that waltzed right into that very same ice cream parlor that Saeron and her new friends were in. Saeron couldn't help but to look over and she immediately recognized the one that saved her, Jeon Jungkook. Saeron tried her best to ignore him and focus on her friends, but it was really hard for some odd reason. It's like she couldn't control where her eyes looked. Well, until one of her friends pulled her back in to reality again.

"Isn't this ice cream good, Saeron?" Hayi said dropping honorifics. The girls decided, that in order to be good friends they will drop honorifics.

"Mm. It's quite yummy Unnie." She said monotonously.

"Oh? Isn't that the popular idol group at our school? What was their name again..?" Suhyun turned and saw them.

"Wasn't it BTS or something like that?" Hayi added.

"That's it! They are known as the kingkas of our school apparently." Suhyun stated.

Saeron's wondering eyes somehow made their way to them again. They seemed like normal high schoolers. The problem was, they had too many fangirls surrounding them wherever they went. In a way, it really bothered Saeron. She thought those types of people are the ones she wouldn't want to associate with because the fans might kill her or something. She made it clear in her mind that she doesn't want to get involved with them so she remained calm and turned away.

"Pfft. They think they are all high and mighty. Please. All they do is mess around. It's annoying." Bin said while gritting his teeth as he eyed them down.

"I mean, their music is pretty dope though." Bobby shrugged. Hayi punched his arm gently, trying to correct him. "What?" He pouted.

"Come on guys. Let's leave." Bin got up and started heading for the door.

Everyone got up and followed him. The girls were the last to follow him. Then Saeron remembered that she left something at the table, so she went back to grab it by herself. She forgot her wallet on the table and after a few minutes, she found it. She noticed the BTS group was sitting down and enjoying their ice cream together. They did kind of look like delinquents as Bin pointed out.

"Oh? You're the new girl!" She turned and bumped into the guy who saved her. Jeon Jungkook. He was holding an ice cream cone in his hand. His eyes were slightly wide open. He couldn't believe that he saw her again.

Saeron just bowed slightly and then rushed out of there. She had a gut feeling that if she stayed any longer, her new friends might worry and come rushing in. Jungkook was left dumbfounded so he scratched his head again as he watched her leave before his eyes again. He didn't even know her.

"Kookie!~ Who were ya talking to?" Jimin wrapped his arm around the maknae's shoulder. Jungkook snapped out of it.

"I don't know Hyung...I don't know."

Saeron caught up with her friends and Bin was the most worried out of the bunch. The other friends tried to assure him that Saeron was just fine. Bin being himself, however; started thinking of the worst-case scenarios. He thought maybe she got kidnapped. He also thought that maybe she went to the bathroom and was stuck. Deep down, Saeron admired Bin for caring about her so much. Even though she's used to pushing everyone away.

Saeron refused to look behind her. She didn't want her friends to know that she ran into that troubled BTS group. Hayi, Suhyun, and Bobby greeted her with a warm smile. Bin just looked at her in concern. All his thoughts got to him so he panicked a little.

"Y-you're okay r-right?-" Bin started to say but Bobby interrupted.

"So Saeron. Shall we get you home?" He grinned and wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"Yeah. I should probably get back home now."

They started walking and talking as Saeron showed her friends where she moved in. She was a bit embarrassed at first because she didn't know the social classes here yet, and didn't want to appear poor in front of them. However, she seemed to live in a pretty middle-class area. They were impressed with where she lives.

"This is it." She said quietly.

"Whoa. Your house is really pretty!" Hayi swooned.

"Actually I think that you don't live that far from all of us!" Suhyun exclaimed.

"How about tomorrow we come to your house and we can all walk to school together. What do ya think?" Bin looked at Saeron. She had to think for a moment then finally agreed.

"Hm. If it's not a bother."

"Pfft. You're never a bother to us. Okay, Sae?" Bobby smiled and ruffled her hair.

"Mm."

Before she headed inside her house she wanted to exchange numbers with her new friends. On the inside, she was super excited about the future to come. It's as if a whole new Saeron was formed inside of her. She couldn't wait to spend the rest of her high school years with these people. It was amusing and nice for a change. At least Saeron could know for sure that her family wasn't going to move again. Sometimes a huge change could turn out to be good after all.

"Sae Unnie!" Ahron hugged her older sister. Yeron joined her.

"Unnie." Yeron copied.

"Oh. Hi guys." Saeron pet both of their heads and laughed a little. Whenever she was with family, she seemed a bit more human.

"Whoa. Are these your new friends??" Ahron asked in disbelief. Saeron nodded.

"Yep. Guys, these are my two younger sisters. This is the middle child, Ahron."

"It's a pleasure to meet you." She bowed politely. Saeron's friends waved at her to greet her.

"This is our maknae sister. Kim Yeron."

"Hello." Yeron bowed all the way like Ahron but everyone sort of squealed because she was so tiny and cute.

"Aigoo! Your sisters are adorable!" Hayi fangirled and ran up to hug them.

"Hayi Unnie is right. Your sisters are super cute~" Suhyun agreed.

"Sae Unnie. Who is that handsome Oppa?" Ahron whispered to her older sister. Saeron looked to where she was looking and saw Moon Bin.

"Ahron. Yeron. These are my friends. The nice bubbly girl is Hayi Unnie. The quiet shy girl is Suhyun Unnie. The dorky, kind, and childish guy is Bobby Oppa. Lastly, the one Ahron likes is Moon Bin Oppa." Saeron teased. It lead to Ahron punching her older sister in the arm. Moon Bin blushed a bit then smiled and went up to Ahron.

Moon Bin blushed not only at the fact that Saeron's younger sister likes him but also at the fact that he heard Saeron call him Oppa. Sure it was on purpose and she was just introducing her friends to her little sisters...but Moon Bin's heart almost leaped out of his chest when he heard it come out from those breathtaking lips of hers.

"Hi, sweetie. I'm Bin Oppa." He knelt down and then ruffled her hair. Ahron blushed red and then ran to hide behind Saeron.

"Haha. She must really like you."

"Hi, cutie pie. I'm Bobby Oppa. Are you a princess perhaps?" Bobby knelt down on one knee and then kissed Yeron's hand as if he were a prince. It made Yeron very happy. She always loved being like a princess.

"Prince Oppa." She stared at Bobby with such admiration. Saeron took a quick glance at Hayi, to see how she was holding up. Hayi seemed conflicted. It's like she wants to feel jealous, but another part of her swooned at how good he is with kids.

The sun was starting to set and her friends decided it was time to leave. So they bid their farewells to Saeron and her sisters and then started heading home together. Saeron couldn't help but let out a soft smile as she watched them leave. On the inside, she was grateful for them because they made her automatically fit in. Now she has fewer worries over bullies and such.

"Sae Unnie. Momma is making dinner so we should probably head inside. Don't you think?" Ahron nudged her big sis. Saeron just ruffled her head and then nodded as they all headed inside.

During dinner, her mom looked at her with intensity. She wanted Saeron to spill everything that happened on her first day. Saeron took a bite out of her food and then felt her mom's anxious eyes watching her. She put her chopsticks back down and then sighed.

"So about today..."

"How was it?????" Her mom blurted out. She then covered in embarrassment.

"Honey, let our daughter tell us when she is ready. You can't force her." Saeron's father then smiled at her warmly.

"Well..." She didn't want to mention the whole bully situation to her parents because they might go haywire. So she only decided to tell them the good stuff. "I made new friends today. Moon Bin ssi. Hayi ssi. Suhyun ssi. And Bobby ssi." She told them.

"Omo!! So you hung out with them right after school right??" Her mom asked excitedly. Ahron and Yehron laughed at how happy their mother was about Saeron. They could all understand though since Saeron usually keeps to herself.

"Yeah. We went to an ice cream parlor near the school. My friends are pretty cool." She admitted.

"Yeobo. Our daughter is growing up so fast." Her mother teared up and leaned on her husband. Saeron's dad just laughed and kissed his wife.

"That means we did our job." He smiled and then looked at Saeron. "Your mother and I are immensely proud of you sweetie. It makes us happy knowing you are handling the move. We know that we can always count on you." He kissed his daughter on the forehead.

"Thanks, Appa. It means a lot." She smiled at her dad.

After Saeron told her family all about her first day of school, she headed into her bedroom for some quiet time. She her music and laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. She closed her eyes and recalled all the unique events that took place that day. Jungkook's face appeared for the nth time so she sprung up and shook her head furiously. This time she had it.

"Stop thinking of someone like him, Kim Saeron." She pep-talked herself.

She heard the door squeak open so she turned to see who it was. This time it was Yehron. The baby of the family. She crawled into bed and laid down next to her big sis. She looked at Sae and noticed something different. Saeron's face was glowing. It wasn't the type of glowing that cosmetics and lotion could do. Oh no. It was a new type. Yehron noticed her sister displaying happiness. Saeron was genuinely happy on the inside and out. This made Yehron beam as well because it was a good sign.

"Why are you all smiley?" Saeron noticed and then tickled her little sis.

"Hehe. Oh, no reason. I just realized that friendship is just another word for love." Yehron giggled and then left the room.

Saeron thought for a while. What did her sister mean by that? Friendship is the same as love? Or is love the same as friendship? She brushed it off again and let her mind wander off again. Before she knew it, she was already fast asleep.
