I feel it in my fingers

I feel it in my toes

Manager Kim Minseok hummed absentmindedly to the pop song playing in the background of Le Café de l'Esprit as he passed two freshly made cups of hot chocolate across the counter to a tall blond who sent him a polite nod before taking the cup and strolling away.

When the next customer approached and flashed Minseok a dazzling smile, the boy immediately felt his heart skip a beat. “H-hi, Jongdae,” he stammered. “The usual?”

Jongdae nodded. “Of course. Nothing tastes better than your masala chai, Minseok.”

The named boy could feel a blush creeping onto his face as he busied himself with Jongdae’s order. “You flatter me too much…” Whilst the tea got ready, Minseok disappeared behind the cake display.

“It’s only the truth,” Jongdae said shyly.

He didn’t receive a response and as the seconds ticked by, Jongdae began to grow curious about what Minseok was doing. Placing his palms onto the counter, Jongdae tried to peer over the counter and at the same moment that he did, Minseok reappeared from below and found himself face to face with Jongdae.

Neither of them moved despite the proximity and it was only after Jongdae gulped nervously that the two simultaneously blurted out the first thing on their minds.

“Accept this cake!”

“Go out with me?”

Silence fell between them once more but it was quickly broken by the sound of a certain coffee boy sweetly although rather loudly flirting on the phone in the kitchen.

一觉醒来,只觉甚是爱你。

As Minseok regained his senses and fetched Jongdae’s chai masala, he made a mental note to ask Coffee Boy Luhan who it was that he was always on the phone with during his breaks.

“Minseok, I didn’t order cake.” Jongdae wrapped his hands around his cup of chai masala and threw Minseok a puzzled expression.

“It’s…a gift from me,” Minseok said after a while, sliding the plate towards Jongdae. “Carrot cake is my favourite so I wanted to share it with you. I like this cake and I like you.”

Jongdae’s mouth fell open as he looked at Minseok in surprise. Finally, he broke into a charming grin and took the slice of carrot cake. “You didn’t answer my question earlier. Kim Minseok, go out with me?”

Christmas is all around me

And so the feeling grows

When Coffee Boy Luhan happily emerged from the kitchen with a slight skip in his step, he couldn’t help but notice the bright shade of pink decorating Minseok’s cheeks.

“You look as though someone’s just proposed to you,” Luhan said with a laugh.

Minseok stuffed the handkerchief with Jongdae’s number on it into his pocket and shook his head at Luhan. “You’re the one who’s been proposing! Who is it that you’re always talking to on the phone?”

“What-no-seriously-I just… Minseok!” Luhan protested.

It was Minseok’s turn to laugh now. Before he could tease Luhan any further though, the flustered coffee boy abruptly announced that his shift was over and hurried off.

Minseok waved his best friend goodbye as the latter walked towards the door. Luhan rolled his eyes and waved back.

“Ow!”

Luhan turned his attention away from Minseok and gasped when he realised that he had bumped into someone, causing them to land on the floor. The coffee boy extended a hand to the fallen stranger and helped him stand on his feet. “I’m so sorry. Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fi—” the other began but stopped mid-sentence when he caught sight of the coffee boy. “Luhan?”

“Hey, Sehun! Over here!”

The named boy looked over at the source of the voice, seeing his blue-haired friend waving at him from a nearby table.

“I’ll be there in a second, Suho…” When Sehun turned around again, he was standing alone in the middle of Le Café de l'Esprit.

It's written in the wind

It's everywhere I go

To say that it was cold would be an understatement. Luhan could feel the icy wind harshly touching his face as he ran towards his destination. After running past Mystic Magazine’s office and the local hospital, he slowed down. He jogged the rest of the way until he reached the park and saw a girl waiting for him beside a flower bush. His lips curved upwards as he approached her and threw his arms around her waist.

“宝贝!”

The girl giggled and wrapped her arms around Luhan’s neck. “I missed you so much. A second spent without you feels no different from a whole year.”

“Darling, I spoke with you on the phone a few minutes ago,” Luhan said sweetly as he leaned his forehead against hers, “but I missed you, too. So much that I couldn’t bear it.”

So if you really love Christmas

Come on and let it snow

The pyjama-clad patient observed the outdoor scenery through the window of his hospital room and sighed.

He had initially thought that having a great view of a nearby park would be wonderful but all he could see was an overenthusiastic boy sprinting towards someone who appeared to be his girlfriend. The Christmas season was supposed to be about being together with the one you love but as the hospital patient watched the boy lean in to kiss his girlfriend, he couldn’t help but feel even more alone than he already was.

“Wow, Zitao. Since when has spying on kissing couples been a pastime of yours?”

“Ever since I ended up in the hospital with a broken arm and discovered that there was nothing better to do than stare out of the window.”

Patient Zitao let out a huff and looked at the one whom had just spoken; his doctor returned his gaze with a smile and placed two steaming cups of hot chocolate upon the table beside Zitao’s bed.

“Why do you bring hot chocolate every day, Kris?”

“This is the finest that the menu of Le Café de l’Esprit offers. If you didn’t want to put up with my fabulous taste in warm beverages then you shouldn’t have gotten yourself hurt at that wushu tournament of yours,” Doctor Kris replied, casually running a hand through his blond hair.

“You know better than anyone, Doctor, that my competitor was a cheating so
