the hunt on mejongin pov
i've never really trusted him. luhan appeared out of nowhere, and stole my friend. i've never seen two so in love and it truly annoyed me. from the first moment i knew who he was. how much i wanted to reveal his true identity, i just couldn’t. firstly it would also reveal my identity as a hunter, and most importantly. sehun finally found a reason to stay alive. if it wasn’t for him, i’d already killed the vampire in the most horrific way.
"i'm going to meet luhan," sehun smiled once again. his words took me by surprise. it had been a while since the happy expression was on his face. i told luhan to stay out of his life, and he seemed to listen to my words. but know luhan seems back again. “have fun,” i said in a bitter tone.
sehun came home in a drunk state. he was mumbling inaudible words when someone suddenly appeared from behind me. luhan coldly stared at me. “take care of him,” he said, and helped sehun standing straight. sehun lingered on luhan, who remained patient.
the dangerous part of luhan was his appearance. with his angelic features and pale skin, he looked so innocent.
“jongin,” he suddenly calls me. i look up to a frowning luhan. “i told you to leave him alone,” i threaten him and leave him speechless. luhan turns his gaze to me, and looks sad.
“take care of sehun,” he said as he quickly wiped a tear of his cheek. why was he acting as if he was leaving forever? luhan coughed and placed sehun on the couch. he gently caressed his cheek and i’d almost pity him. i didn’t even bother when he pecked his lips on sehun’s forehead. so he remained for a while, staring at sehun’s sleeping face.
"he won't remember me tomorrow and the day after tomorrow," were luhan's last words to me, before he left the small apartment. what was he trying to say, he gave up on sehun? this couldn’t be? how much i wanted him out of my life, he couldn’t leave sehun like that?
yet he said something about not remembering, perhaps luhan bewitched sehun? it honestly was too much to take up.
little did luhan knew jongdae never bewitched the drink he gave to sehun. jongdae was too honorable to admit he didn’t own a spell combating love, since it doesn’t exist. luhan was desperate enough to believe his lies, and so luhan thought sehun would never recall him.
luhan thought he was the only one suffering, while sehun was waiting for him in despair. the two lovers kept remembering each other, but time changed their relationship into a beautiful past. luhan will never know that sehun never forgot him. yet sehun will discover luhan’s whereabouts, that he was a vampire all that time. but the loving embrace sehun was longing for, changed into an impossible dream.
luhan is dead, and sehun is slowly dying inside.
