The wind is chilly on the balcony tonight.

He grips the sides of his elbows tighter, feeling the cold air seep through the holes of his jumper as the lonely lights of the city flicker monotonously below the heavy, claustrophobic air.

Shuffling sounds makes their way closer to him from behind. A pair of cold hands wrap gently around his waist, trying to tie the anthropocentric man down, attempting to make him release the balloons of rumination threatening to carry him off, up and away. 

Away into somewhere he knows he will never return.

And yet, it is too late.
