Do Kyungsoo, age six, is listening to the sound of laughter. He feels the bright rays of the midday sun on his cheeks. The weather outside is delightful. The clouds are puffy and thick.
But he is not content.
Do Kyungsoo, age six, is locked in an attic. His window is the only gateway he has to the outside world. Sometimes Kyungsoo sits below it on Sunday afternoons to listen to the children play in the park.
There was a time when Kyungsoo envied them. He wondered why he couldn’t go out; why he couldn’t be like them.
He doesn’t wonder anymore. He accepts what is.
