Toxicten;
“Cha Min Jun.”
No answer.
“Min Jun. Cha Min Jun!”
“Huh?”
Min Jun's professor looms over her desk with an expression of displeasure.
"What is six times seven?"
"Um. Forty two."
Her professor nods curtly, like she's almost disappointed that Min Jun answered the question correctly.
The bell rings. Class is dismissed. Min Jun gathers her things as everyone files out of the classroom. Midway, she meets her sister.
They walk in silence for a moment before Min Gi speaks.
"You seem out of it. Is everything okay?"
Min Jun nods.
"Are you sure? Do you...want to talk about it?"
She nods again. Her sister couldn't know about the boy in the attic. She would tell their parents. They would never trust her again.
"No," she says. "I'm fine."
Min Gi smiles as if she understands.
She doesn’t.
“Well, if you ever want to talk, I’m here, okay?”
“Okay.”
