In the middle of nowhere, Maya was panting hard from running and running, her feet burned from the pain of running endlessly. She had been running for god knows how long already because someone, or something was chasing her. Adding to the pain was the uneven road and tree roots tripping her repeatedly. She already had scrapes on her knees from all the stumbling down, yet she doesn’t know what or who was she running from. A dark figure with red gleaming eyes was coming after her, quick and never stopping as if the man had done this his entire life,- chasing for preys. When the man was about to catch her, a rustling sound was heard and the dark figure froze. Seconds later, the man turned to ashes and Maya dropped to the ground in relief.

Frightened, Maya shut her eyes tight, praying that she would wake up from the nightmare. When she opened her eyes, she was welcomed with the scenario of the same alley where two men was staring at her with the same gleaming red eyes. The two men sauntered towards her and Maya stood up and ran as quickly as she could. Knowing that this is just a dream of what happened to her before, she knew that the men wouldn’t catch her and headed towards the busy street. Arriving at the street, Maya was expecting to be safe with the bustling sound of chattering, cars and music only to find the place empty of life. The street was deserted, no sign of life anywhere and the two men are still chasing after her. Realizing the change of situation, Maya ran for her life but it was too late as one man caught her hand and whipped her into his embrace. His sharp fangs metres away from shrinking into her neck. He held her tightly and still as he pierced his fangs through her neck and Maya screeched in agonizing pain. Before losing consciousness, she heard a loud thud and she passed out.

Maya’s body was aching from the fall off her bed; she was squirming and flailing from the nightmare. Remembering her dream, Maya caressed her neck for any sign of bite marks but there was none.

“It was just a dream.”

Exhaling from relief, Maya stood up and went to the bathroom to wash up. Taking a cold shower might wake her up from the haunting dream. Maya couldn’t take her mind off the dream because it felt too real for her. Thinking that she is just being paranoid, Maya prepared herself for another day ahead.

“The number doesn’t exist. So it was useless...” Maya was deeply saddened by the revelation that she wandered absentmindedly around the city for a while. Maya met with the estate agent who sold her aunt’s house and got her phone number. She was even ecstatic about it only to find that the number doesn’t exist anymore. She already lost her teddy bear and now that she couldn’t find any information about her aunt made her more depressed. It was already 21:30 and Maya was still wandering aimlessly when she realized she ended up in a park. She found a bench near her and rested as her feet were hurting from wandering around.  After resting for a couple of minutes, Maya stood up and started walking back to the nearest bus stop when a hooded figure appeared few metres behind her. Sensing a strange aura, Maya looked behind her only to be greeted by the same gleaming red eyes staring from her dreams. Trying to calm herself, Maya slowly sneaked away and ran with all her might towards the opposite direction.
