LOCATION: SEOUL MALL; MOVIE THEATRE   She must have been very scared, that was what Jongin thought the whole movie. It was just like he heard from the radio; she gave no interest in her hand that was in his. Her body did not move, and her eyes did not stray from the screen that was right in front of her. He glanced at her from time to time, seeing how her eyes darted back and forth from the left to the right side of the screen. Whenever a suspenseful scene would come out, her hand would tighten and he would look down to see her fingers intertwined with his, and even if he knew that she would act cold later on, he raveled the feeling of her shivering fingers against his. Jongin bit his lip, knowing that he wasn’t scared- because he had no idea what was going on with the movie. He did not know what they were talking about and the fear he had now was her reaction after this so-called date. He took a sip of his coke and placed it back beside his untouched popcorn. She didn’t seem disturbed whenever he moved, she must have great concentration.   Jongin leaned back, his eyes almost closing. The cold air, the dark atmosphere was almost great for him to sleep when he felt her fingers move. She was rubbing his thumb repeatedly, softly trailing her fingers to his wrists. It sent tickles across Jongin’s skin and his stomach squirmed. She must have forgotten all about the phone, there was not a mention of it since they have sat down. The movie went on and she moved, taking her hands away from him to run it across her hair. His hands suddenly felt empty and he left it there, waiting to see if she will put it back or not. When she didn’t, Jongin felt a surge of annoyance. She placed her arm back on the arm bar and he stared at it, but she did not move. He waited until she seemed to be back into her movie-land, once again taking her hands into his.   The movie had ended, the flickering pictures on the screen disappearing into darkness. The lights of the theatre would normally open after the movie but since it was late, both of them were plunged into pitch black. She moved first, sitting up in her chair and he felt her hand leaving his- Jongin grabbing it, his grip tightening around her wrist. He could not see her, but he could see her silhouette in the dark, his hand pulling her towards him just to hear her breath catch in . “Have you ever dated someone before?” “My phone.” Her answer was not an answer to his question and she tugged her arm back, his fingers tightening slightly. He was careful not to hurt her, but the way she played with his feelings was too much to bear. “Who are you? Why are you hiding your face?” “My phone.” She said again, her voice was slightly trembling now and he heard the nervousness reeking. “Kai-ssi, we had a deal.” “Have you ever kissed someone on your first date?” He was saying things he could never think of saying, his fingers loosening around her wrists but she did not move. Her phone was in his pocket and it was not every day he had something to use against her. She stopped moving, and he had no idea why she was acting the way she was- his hand going up to her face slowly.   She was trembling by now, but she did not move. With a soft touch of his fingers, he felt her clothed mask and his hands travelled to her ears. He had to be careful, she could lash out to him anytime. But she didn’t and he was starting to worry on how still she was being. He tugged her mask away from her face, and now her face was exposed in the dark. He could not tell how she looked like anyway, but his fingers moved on their own accord. With a small touch, he traced her lips with the tip of his fingers. He could feel the breath leave her lips and he edged closer when a hundred thoughts ran through his mind. They were close now, but she didn’t seem like she would move closer. His lips were about to touch hers, the mere inch that could satisfy both their curiosities about each other but he paused. “Nervous?” He whispered, already expecting her silence. She did not speak yet, her fingers reaching up to his face. Now, she was the one controlling him. Her hands slid to the side of his face, pressing a finger against his lips before pressing her own lips on her finger. He felt her breath against his when their noses brushed past each other and she backed away. He could almost hear the smirk in her voice. “You’re the one nervous.” She whispered to him, her hand moving to his pocket and before he knew it, she had taken her phone back. He bit his lip, and at that exact moment the lightered on but when Jongin looked around, she was gone.   She was gone and if this was a game, Jongin had to admit.   She won.   But it wasn’t over just yet.   ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
