I screamed as Han Byul prepared to push Sica off the ledge. Suddenly, I heard a shot. Han Byul fell backwards and, with a thud, hit the rooftop floor. As I darted towards Jessica, I caught a glimpse of blood oozing from his arm.
I reached out for my friend who was losing her balance and pulled her back to safety. Jessica let her weight fall on me and sobbed on my shoulder.
That was when I saw a figure standing on the rooftop of the building across the street.
It was Cho Kyuhyun holding a sniper rifle.

I watched from an awning as a pair of burly police officers the wounded Han Byul into an ambulance. A blood-soaked bandage was wrapped around his right arm where Kyu's bullet had hit him.
Right across the ambulance, a social worker or a nurse (I couldn't tell from all the way over here) was guiding Jessica towards a blue sedan. My friend was already bundled up in two or three blankets but I could still see that she was shivering.
A group of reporters and cameramen were setting up in the middle of the street while another police officer stood a few feet away, directing traffic away from the whole mess.
Not too far, Officer Kyuhyun was speaking into his walkie-talkie. I saw him nod before pocketing the device. He caught my eye and started to make his way towards me, probably to explain why he didn't follow me up the stairs.
To be honest, I saw no need for an explanation. Again, he thought ahead and was where he needed to be at the right exact moment. I sighed and wrapped my arms around myself. By now, a slight drizzle had fallen.
Kyuhyun was only a few steps away when I heard her.
