"Unless she's a sadistic extremist, Yewon's definitely off the suspect list," I mused out loud as Kyuhyun and I drove to Seoul District Hospital to see Yewon and Jessica.
"Jessica's not, though," Kyuhyun reminded me. "Did you get anything from her?"
I shook my head, "Ani."
I still found it hard to believe that Sica-unnie would kill Mandy Hsu. I couldn't think of a motive. But Jessica is definitely hiding something and I have to ask her about it, even though it might have implications on our friendship.
"I wonder how Yewon got poisoned," I frowned. "I hope she's alright."
"If the poison was found on the cup and not in the drink, then there is a higher chance that Mandy Hsu's murder and Yewon's poisoning are caused by the same person," Kyuhyun remarked. He went on to explain that patterns could be observed among criminals who repeat the same crime. "The lab reports that were sent in just recently concluded that the cyanide was found on the rim of the coffee cup and not in the drink itself."
"But why Yewon, though?" I voiced out. "Do you think the criminal has something against her and Sica-unnie?"
"It could be that like Mandy, Yewon drank something that was meant for Jessica," Kyuhyun replied.
And he was right.
We found a distraught Jessica at the lobby of the Seoul District Hospital. Her hair looked uncombed and her eyes had dark circles below them. Her makeup wasn't blended in well and looked like it had been put on in haste.
"Sica!" I gave my friend a hug. "What happened?"
Jessica didn't hesitate to explain, "I arrived at the headquarters when I saw Yewon drink from a Mocha Frap that had my name on it. I didn't have the chance to ask her where she got the drink, because she started vomiting soon after she took a sip. I called an ambulance..." Jessica's face contorted in anxiety. "I do hope she's going to be alright."
"Well, you can always hire a new assistant," Kyuhyun suggested.
