     Ryeowook was blushing. He never expected to get such a serious answer from Kyuhyun, and before he knew it he had kissed Kyuhyun. After their impromptu make-out session, Kyuhyun finally released him and he went back to his seat. They finished their soup while learning more about one another.

   “Wait?! You play piano and sing as well?” Kyuhyun exclaimed with a mix of excitement and disbelief.

   Ryeowook giggled, “Is that so hard to believe?”

   “No, Im just surprised that you didn’t say anything when I told you last night that I sometimes sing at clubs on the weekend” Kyuhyun said while pouting.

   “Hmm….well someone didn’t tell me that they worked for the top lawyer firm in Seoul last night either!” Ryeowook said while sticking out his tongue.

   Kyuhyun chuckled at their childishness, “well it didn’t really come up in conversation, plus you never asked which law firm I worked at…and besides when I said I sang, you could have easily said that you sang too!”

   Ryeowook groaned, “Now I know why you’re a lawyer”

  Kyuhyun laughed at this, Ryeowook was just too much fun to tease.

  “Hmm…well I do believe I sang for you, so I think it’s only fair for you to return the favor”

Ryeowook bit his lip while thinking about something, which Kyuhyun found to be totally y.

  “How about this, Ill play the piano for you and ill sing for you some other time. And then we eat the main course because by the time we finish this dinner it’s going to be midnight and you have work tomorrow”

  Kyuhyun finally remembered something-the restaurant was completely empty and he never had the chance to ask why.

   “Wait, why exactly is no one here? Isn’t this usually your busiest time?” he said looking at his watch

   “It is” admitted Ryeowook, “But these past several days Joie has been closed because of a few kitchen renovations, they just finished them this morning, and since Joie is normally closed on Tuesday’s and Sunday’s, I have the luxury of testing the new equipment before things get busy on Wednesday again”

   “So im your guinea pig to see whether or not the equipment is working”

   Ryeowook laughed, “Well I guess I killed two birds with one stone then didn’t I? The equipment is working perfectly and I wooed my new boyfriend with my cooking skills”

  “I can’t argue with that,” he replied before proceeding to peck those addicting lips.

  Kyuhyun pulled slightly away before whispering:

“I do believe we were in the midst of negotiating before I got distracted, so will you please sing for me?”

“How about I play the piano for you and then we eat the main course” Ryeowook was stubbornly still trying to weasel his way out of singing.

“Please let me just play the piano” Ryeowook was now pulling out his aegyo.

Crap. Kyuhyun was no match for Ryeowook’s aegyo, he sighed

“Alright, fine you win, but next time you have to sing!”

Ryeowook clapped his hands happily and pulled Kyuhyun with him to the piano in the corner of the restaurant.

  “I was wondering why there was a piano here, do you play here regularly?”

  “Actually I don’t ever play here. The piano is here because the owner chanced upon it in an antique shop and thought it would look beautiful in the restaurant. Every Thursday and Saturday a professional piano player comes in and plays for several hours and then leaves. I have a piano back at my loft and I play there. When I come to Joie, my place is in the kitchen. Plus I would find it super nerve wracking to be watched by so many people…I prefer to be behind the scenes. That’s why not too many people know that I play the piano or sing.” Ryeowook said smiling back at him.  

   Kyuhyun was speechless. He was touched that Ryeowook was sharing this with him. Few things are as meaningful as when the person you love takes your hand and let’s you in. And all Kyuhyun could think to do at that moment was to kiss Ryeowook’s forehead and say “thank you”

  “For what?” Ryeowook looked back at him puzzled.

  “For sharing this with me” Kyuhyun smiled back at him.

  “Well…it’s not entirely free. Remember you have to sing while I play” the smaller pleaded. 

  “How on earth would I do that when I don’t know the song?"

  “Just listen for a bit and then tell me if you recognize the melody okay?” Ryeowook said knowingly.

     Well, this was it...he was about to play the melody he had heard Kyuhyun sing the previous night. Kyuhyun had written the song himself and was kind enough to sing it just for him. Oddly enough, the song stuck with him and he woke up at 3:00 am desperate to hear it again, so he went to his piano and started to recreate the song on the piano. He had spent several hours playing around with the melody before he was finally pleased with it. He took a deep breath and started playing the gentle melody and from the corner of his eyes he could see the stunned expression on Kyuhyun’s face.

    Oh god…Ryeowook was starting to panic, he was already on the second chorus. Kyuhyun should have jumped in by now- did he screw up the song? Was the melody too different? Had he remembered incorrectly? Ryeowook tried his best not think about it too hard and eventually finished the song.

   “K..Kyuhyun?”

   “Im sorry did I completely botch it up? Oh God I did didn’t I, I am so sorry, I was trying to recrea…”

Ryeowook didn’t get to finish because Kyuhyun was now kissing him so fiercely that his mind was instantly a puddle of goo.

   By the time they broke away from one another, both were huffing from the lack of oxygen:

  “No, it was absolutely perfect. So perfect that I couldn’t even bring myself to ruin the flow by singing.”

  Ryeowook laughed at this, “How on earth could you have ruined the flow? It’s your song silly! I only tried to recreate the melody with piano.”

  And with that Ryeowook started the song over again, but this time he started to sing. And perhaps that was when he fell in love with Ryeowook. His voice was breathtaking. It was light, but held all the emotion one could ask for. Kyuhyun was starting to question if there was anything Ryeowook couldn’t do. The man was a genius at cooking, music and had the personality and looks to match. Ryeowook smiled at him while singing and motioned for Kyuhyun to join in. And that’s what he did.

   Once Kyuhyun started singing, Ryeowook decided to just play the piano, so he could fully take in Kyuhyun’s voice again. It was just as warm and rich as when he had first heard him sing. There was something almost seductive about Kyuhyun’s voice that left Ryeowook craving for more. When the song came to an end, Ryeowook felt a pang of sadness. He wanted to hear more of Kyuhyun’s singing. When he finally played the last note of the song, he looked at Kyuhyun who was smiling so brightly at him that he blushed in reflex.

   “I thought you weren’t going to sing for me”

   “I thought that if I sung, then you would join in and I really wanted to hear you sing again.”

   “I hope I didn’t disappoint” Kyuhyun said in a teasing voice.

    Ryeowook slapped him playfully in the arm, “of course not, you were amazing, just like the first time I heard you sing”

   Kyuhyun chuckled, while holding Ryeowook’s hand, “Im glad to hear that.”

     As much as Ryeowook wanted to continue playing the piano while Kyuhyun sung, he was eager to learn more about Kyuhyun. So with that, he dragged Kyuhyun back to the table and then ran back to the kitchen to get their main course.

   He watched while Kyuhyun took a bite of the food and smiled when he saw the other with such a satisfied expression.

   “Im not sure what’s better”

Ryeowook was puzzled by this

   “The potato gratin is supposed to compliment the lamb…they aren’t supposed to compete with each another”, a look of worry crossed his face.

Kyuhyun chuckled at his boyfriend’s adorableness,

   “No, I wasn’t talking about the lamb and the gratin, I was talking about your music skills and your cooking skills”

Ryeowook blushed at the praise he received from the other.

KPOV

   He must be trying to kill me with cuteness right now-was really all Kyuhyun could think about at that moment while watching Ryeowook fidget in his seat.

  “So I recall you asking me why I wasn’t a full time singer, I believe it’s now my turn to ask you the same thing. With your piano and singing skills you could easily be performing on the biggest stages.”

  Ryeowook had to gather his thoughts for moment before replying, 

  “Well…I’ve always liked playing the piano and singing and originally I thought I would go into music composition. But then I started learning more and more about the culinary world and I just sort of fell in love. I mean it was the perfect way to still express my feelings, but I didn’t have to be in the spotlight. That’s why I ended up choosing cooking”

  “I feel like that explanation didn't really convey everything very well” Ryeowook said with a slight frown. 

Kyuhyun laughed, “Of course it did! That’s completely reasonable. In fact my stomach has never been more happy in its entire life that you chose the culinary arts. You’re just so incredible with music that I was wondering how you ended up choosing. I mean you only heard me sing the song once and you were able to compose it on the piano beautifully, so im just a bit stunned”

  Ryeowook smiled, “I wouldn’t necessarily say that I ended up “choosing", I still compose and play piano in my spare time, which I admit isn’t a ton, but I still get to do it as a hobby and I get to pursue my other passion, so I really couldn’t ask for more, except…well maybe a love life and it looks like im finally getting that too” he said while blushing.

    Kyuhyun couldn’t help but feel lucky that he was apart of Ryeowook’s life and leaned over the table and softly kissed Ryeowook, “You definitely have a love life now” he winked.

  By the time they had finished eating dessert (Ryeowook had made an apple tart) it was 11:30 pm, they had been talking..eating…and kissing for approximately five hours.

  “Im starting to think you’re trying to put me into a food coma”

 Ryeowook giggled, “oh! did it work?”

  Now it was Kyuhyun who laughed, “So it was deliberate!”

 “Hmm…I wonder about that,” Ryeowook said playfully.

Kyuhyun groaned, “how am I supposed to maintain my good looks if I keep pigging out on your food!”

Ryeowook had a good laugh at this, “you were the one who ate half of my piece of tart!”

Kyuhyun pouted, “no, you fed me half of your tart on your own and I can’t resist you or the tart, so I blame you”

Before Ryeowook had time to retaliate, he was laughing hysterically because Kyuhyun decided his punishment would be to tickle him mercilessly.

  “K..Kyu! S.stop, I ggive uup!”

Ryeowook looked too adorable at that moment with his flushed cheeks and disheveled hair that he couldn’t help but to just hug him.

  They stayed like that for a while, both content to feel each other’s warmth and dare I say love because let’s face it-at this point they had both fallen.

    The rest of the night was spent with Ryeowook sitting on Kyuhyun’s lap, both of them exchanging bits and pieces of their lives, ranging from family to funny stories. Before they knew it was time to separate because it was 1:30am in the morning and Kyuhyun had work later. They then spent another 15 minutes kissing each other outside of Kyuhyun’s car because neither wanted the date to end.

And all of a sudden a honking could be heard.
