The following day
Spring flingChapter 5 The following day
“And the other never stopped commenting about how many calories and the amount of fat the food I ate contained! Like I even care,” Hyukjae said while he scooped up a massive amount of Ben & Jerry´s halved baked ice-cream. “Who spend time thinking about that? Especially when they are out on a first date. Not that it is okay if it were the second, third or seventh either.” He paused, putting the cold treat inside his awaiting mouth. “I can´t believe I wasted three hours on this stupid blind date: For what?! To please my so-called-friends because they all think I`m pathetic spending my evenings and weekends home eating ice-cream.” The black haired continued complaining about his failed date to Donghae, at the same time trying to not let the melting ice-cream drop out of his mouth.
“Wow. That ! I can´t believe that you stayed. If that would have been me I would´ve left the restaurant before the other had even gotten there. Why did you even wait even after the date had officially started? I mean you were standing there alone. No one should enjoying being alone.” The more Donghae talked about the black haired man´s failed date he seemed to become more and more upset.
After re-capped his blind date the evening before to the next-door neighbor (who had stopped by with a bunch of delicious, but unfortunately now devoured, cupcakes), they had both found themselves sitting next to each other on one of the many park benches placed all around the greenery. Eating anything unhealthy they could find inside the owner´s cupboards and freezer the night before, they both managed to make it to any place not being anywhere inside the apartment complex or other buildings. It would be for the best to make their ways outside during such a summery day as this. The shorter male´s words, not Hyukjae´s. But somehow it all ended up with them eating ice cream once again. The idea was Donghae´s protest to the other man´s douchebag of a date (also Donghae´s words, not his, not that he didn’t agree).
While the brown haired man sat next to him just listening, never judging, Hyukjae realized that this was maybe not such a bad idea. He would much rather spend his days with the forgetful neighbor of his rather than dating men who only cared about others looks, or anyone else for that matter. Not that he would ever let the other person know about his thoughts. Having someone around to eat fattening ice-cream and lazing in the comfortable sunny weather is how it should be in Hyukjae´s opinion. He didn´t want to ruin it all when it had just begun.
Looking around at everything happening in the park this early afternoon Hyukjae caught a sight of something the made him frown. In the corner- closest to where the two males had taken their seat- he could see how three young children were standing over a small bundle laying on the grass-clad ground bellow them. Taking a closer peek he was able to distinguish the curled up ball to be another smaller boy, maybe a few years younger than the assaulting children over him.
Before he realized it himself Hyukjae was making his way towards the children that he had just spotted in the park.
When the raven head was close enough he shouted loud enough for them to hear. “Yah!! What are you boys doing over there?!” Grumbling to himself about the fact that he may have been too loud, the teacher had managed to get a few meters to the boys.
As soon as they caught a sight of the man walking towards them, the three older kids made a mad run away from the adult. Running as fast a
